Every time she says Gary (Geiri as you typed correctly) all I remember is Gary Buster Holmes from Yakuza since that is exactly how his voice actor says his name in japanese.
Just out of curiosity I looked up if their were any Japanese name changes since Squidward is changed to Ikarudo (which by the way is the most literal translation of Squidward since it combines the Japanese word for Squid with the Japanese pronunciation of Edward) DoodleBob is changed to Rakugaki Bob which translates as Graffiti Bob. As far as I can tell the Flying Dutchman’s Japanese name translates to something along the lines of Wandering Sailor and Krusty Krab is Kanikāni which as far as I can tell is just Crab Crab. Edit: It’s come to my attention Krusty Krab might more accurately be “Kane Kani” which in that case be translated as “Money Crab” or “Rich Crab”
In Spanish, Squidward is Calamardo, is also a very literal translation, because is a combination of Calamar (Squid) and Eduardo (the spanish equivalent of Edward)
Here in brazil, Mr Crabs have a similar situation, as he is called Seu Sirigueijo, which Seu is a way of saying Mr and combining the words siri and carangueijo (crab) to form his name. As for Squidward we call him Lula (squid) Molusco (clam) for some reason.

I almost feel like its more common for Rs to turn into Ls and not the other way around. Plus when speaking japanese, their R sound tends to fall closer to L than R. At least from what I’ve seen
