    Dude, thank you! Thank you for being so forthcoming and honest with the review! You're one of the few people i've seen who understand that if the OHR is bad, every other metric that derives from it will also be bad. Just as you said - they should sell this with an external HR sensor, reduce the price point a bit (since every metric that it calculates is based off that OHR sensor) and be careful that in the future, they won't launch such a messy, faulty product. This together with the overcounting of the steps made and poor sleep analysis will lead to a world of incorrect data. It's a pity because the devices themselves are gorgeous (especially the Vertical).

    I currently only have a Apple Watch 6 and haven’t used a Garmin or Suunto watches or apps. Which watch/ app combo do recommend for being user friendly for gym workouts and navigation for trails? I’m looking at Suunto and Garmin. Thanks

    I just got mine today but i kinda kept in mind that i would only use a chest strap anyway. But for the people who don't want to do that it might not be a wise choice to buy.

    Thanks for your review. I always use chest strap. I have a Fênix 7 and a forerunner 955 , I'm just interested to know if the inaccuracies of the optical heart rate sensor affect the rest of the features of the watch. Resting HR,HRV , sleep and so on. Because if i affect, beside the build quality and look don't offer nothing worth to buy. It's important the reviewers provide to people who watch their videos that kind of information.

      Yes totally. Testing all of that as much as I can!

      This is my question/worry. Does the poor OHR sensor affect the other metrics ( HRV, Resting HR, sleep, recovery…). I always wear an external HR on workouts. Between this and Garmin 965.

    Has the OHR improved with updates since this review was done?

    Might need to wear a polar oh1 on your bicep 24/7 for the analytics lol

    I have a feeling they will fix this in software. If they can make it consistent they can use machine earning to fill in the gaps.

    Thx. A question arises spontaneously... Why does a company like Suunto market a product with such a painful HR sensor? Mystery

    • @fitgearhunter
      @fitgearhunter  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I just don't get it. The watch is simply awesome all around otherwise, and then this. They must be forced into a contract they could terminate or something. I don't know.

    Do you know if the software side of this problem will be addressed in next week’s update from Suunto?

    • @kuzia1984
      @kuzia1984 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This is not a software problem therefore it cannot be fixed. It's a hardware issue (they have been using the same sensor for a while now).

    I have watched a few reviews... awesome watch, great pricing...but the HR sensor sucks! What a pity! How come a company like Suunto can't make a more precise sensor?

    I wonder if suunto can change the optical sensor algorithm to improve accuracy

      They have full control over the algorithms now. The Race is the first Suunto to use fully in-house algorithms.

    • @fitgearhunter

      @@blackhawk69100 yes they are writing their own for calculation metrics, but the algorithms can't solve the faulty HR sensor unfortunately:/

    Useless watch even with other fancy features just because of this horrible HRM
