We were lucky enough to join you on this amazing trip. I’m so glad our guys talked about it because that made me book. I found this to be an incredible value! I was blown away by the price! Viking was BY FAR the best ship/cruiseline we have experienced! We are 34 year old married couple. The room, the food, the service, incredible. Take me back!!!!!
The finest cruise line afloat, bar none. And the old Viking line precursor to the river and now ocean cruises was the best for their time, too. Quality every way.
Excellent points! This was an awesome cruise! The complete lack of a wait to embark was astonishing and fabulous. The understated luxury was unbelievable as well as the value. The amount of included amenities was astounding especially the WiFi. We usually end up spending several hundred dollars a cruise on less than stellar WiFi. One of the big selling points was that it was only a 7 night cruise, which is perfect if you can't get away for a long period of time. If you have kids or still working it is hard to get away for two weeks. Although it is considered a "small" ship it felt uncrowded and open. They did not mention the free (including detergent) and always available laundry room. The drink package was a fabulous bargain and they will deliver wine and beer to your room for free with room service if you are on the package which was amazing. The cabins were huge. There was very little evening entertainment which was not a problem on this cruise but, as Kevin mentioned, might be if you were sailing more familiar ports. This was the absolute best food I've ever had on a cruise. The World Cafe Buffet had astonishingly outstanding food. The only downside to the ship that I can think of was the only food available after 9PM was room service which is pretty early in my experience and the Winter Garden was underutilized area. The videos and pictures were wonderful. Thank you Craig!!
OMG - Kevin just made me laugh out loud when he said to Ryno "So we invited you to clean..." , to me you can tell they all like each other. Sounds like a great time, I love the idea of a port every day.
I sailed Azamara in the Med last September and the check in process was the same. The area where you check in had drinks and snacks but there was absolutely no wait. They hand you a glass on Champagne when you walk on the ship. They had a table to check your carry on bags as well. I was alone and in an OV room and it was ready at 1pm. My carry on was outside my door when I went to my room.
When on the cruise they have a Vikings app for your phone and because everyone that goes on this cruise is old no one knows about it . You can Reserve the restaurants the second you get onboard. So the lower cabins that have to wait to reserve can skip all the lines and waiting time
HOLY MOLY, under 5K for two??? Good golly, that's less than what we spent at Disney last year. I see a trip in the next year or two when himself retires
I just finished watching your excellent review of your cruise to the Mediterranean. You covered just about everything I wanted to know but I do have a couple of comments and a question. First off, my spouse Jim and I are getting ready for our first Viking experience. We have cruised only twice before on very small ships of 95 to 130 passengers to Alaska, so 930 passengers will seem large to us by comparison. But certainly not too large. I was only disappointed to hear your comments about The Chef's Restaurant. We chose it for our 43rd anniversary... Maybe should have booked Manfredi's instead for that. Otherwise though the food experience sounds pretty impressive and we're very excited about it... well everything too actually. We will be on Viking Sun next month March for 30 days, Sydney to Durban, South Africa. Before embarkation we're doing the 2 day pre-cruise package, and flying from Tampa to Sydney. We are not night partyers and enjoy movies, reading and meeting new people, so I'm not worried about getting bored, even on the 7 days at sea crossing the Indian Ocean. My main question is this: How worth it is the drinks package? This cost is about $558 dollars I believe, so averaged out over 30 days comes to about $20 or so. What I don't know is what do individual drinks cost on average on the ship if "á la carte?" Say no more than 3 cocktails per day tops, can you advise? I'm leaning towards getting it, but I would like to hear from someone who might know more about this than I. Enjoyed the video very much. Thanks.
Something they didn't mentioned which was the best thing possible is when you go on the Viking you are allowed to bring on your own alcohol... I brought in two big bottles of rum. Needless to say I don't remember much of the cruise ;)
Ryno wouldn't check the comments here but you can write to him directly at Ryno@WDWInfo.com and I'm sure he will be happy to answer your question. I don't think that Ryno has been on a River Cruise but having done both I can definitely say that there is much less motion and much less chance of motion sickness on a River Cruise. Ryno did say that with this Viking Ocean Cruise he wasn't seasick at all; most likely due to the short sailing times between ports and the fact you stay relatively close to land on an itinerary like this. If you would like more info or a no-obligation quote you can write to Kevin@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com

Manfredis was incredible! We could only get that one night! My husband had a pork belly dish that was out of this world!
Finally! I've been waiting forever for you guys to talk about the Viking Ocean Cruise you took.

Missed you guys yesterday, my Monday wasn't complete without my dreams podcast! Absolutely the best travel podcast.

Pete, how did your Keto diet work out on this cruise?
When are you doing another on the Sky? I want to plan on joining you next time.
Great job guys but I think you should check your math on the drink package
Can I booking Viking ocean cruise with you ?
Question for Ryno: I get very bad motion sickness and that's why I've never cruised. Do you recommend a river cruise over a reg cruise?
