SuperEugene41 I felt nostalgic and decided to play a few weeks back. I have found myself playing halo 3 again now for the last few weeks almost daily. The server normally has between 700 - 3000 range active playing but at weekends it keeps on jumping up drastically week by week which is quite bizarre, it is like people are coming back to it, I am guessing it must be the hype kicking in from the new Halo. Games are easy to find in the right game type and matches are set up quickly. However when it comes to ranked matches it is pretty much team slayer which is alive and kicking. The rest are dead, literally zero players on those game types at times which is a shame as ranked doubles or team snipers was my favorite. If you was to find yourself playing again, the games are ridiculously tough, it seems the nerdiest of the nerds have remained loyal to this game and in gaming terms they are fucking beasts! I used to be pretty good but I am getting whooped every game, this is quite refreshing as I was always wanting tough matches when the game was at its peak. It is still competitive with lots of the infamous trash talk. This is the only game that got me hooked back in the day. I am slowly getting hooked again.
This is very accurate sir, luckily LW 50 high is still alive and kicking, this is what I've found myself playing the last few days haha. All the nerds that I used to run 50 highs with... are still the nerds haha. I find Halo3 MCC a little glitchy at times, and it's just no match for the real thing :D :D
+SuperEugene41 MLG customs are a big thing, LW/TS 50 high are easy to find games in, MLG 50 high too sometimes. but mainly MLG customs if you wanna run MLG.
Both are pretty anemic at this point. Although I haven't tried Halo 3-60 in a while since I bought a 360 again back in June, so who knows. Yeah, it sucks if you're someone who skipped H3 / stopped playing after H2 and wanted to come back after a long while to try and get a 50. Because not only are the servers / hosts absolute shite 99% of the time (and MCC is just as bad), but you also can't really rank up naturally as you're "getting back into it" so to speak, because you're immediately lumped in with all the "all I do is play H3 since 2007" kids who've had 50's since the day after the game came out lol. I'm admittedly not that great; used to be back in 2002-2006, when I was in my prime (18-22 years old). But then I stopped and didn't play Halo again until after Reach had been out for like a year (so like, late 2011) and I was terrible. All I did at first was play SWAT, Rumble Pit, and Snipers (because I still was a decent sniper). Once I got my 10-sens bearings back, I was actually half decent by the time H4 was almost out. I went back to H3 and got up to something like 37 in ranked TS and that's as far as I could get because I would just get stomped on, once I hit LV 30 or so, by all the 50's and de-rankers and such. I'm now 32 and am absolutely not capable of getting a 50 in anything. Maybe if I played 6+ hours a day, every day, I *might* be able to get a 50 in Snipers, or possibly in Doubles if I had a decent partner. But I haven't played Halo now since shortly after H5 came out, and I didn't even play it that long. Finished campaign, played online a few times over the next couple weeks, and then haven't touched it since :(
