My grandpa was an incredible man and an inspiration to so many of us. He passed away on August 26, 2011. I had been a NFG fan since high school so I knew the background of the song “Sonny”. I was tasked with creating his memorial slideshow. The full day that I worked on it I cried so many tears listening to “Sonny” on repeat. Tonight, on the eve of the 9th anniversary of his passing, I cry tears of joy. Just thinking the release of the acoustic version is some random sign of his presence. A sign that he still watches over me always. Epa Grampito. Gracias a Dios.

It's honestly one of like three albums ever released that I can call flawless with a straight face. I wouldn't change a thing on it, down to the mixing and mastering. It's perfect.

When my best friend died in 2002, I didn’t know how to express my feelings and emotions. Then I heard this song for the first time 6 months later and ever since, it alway makes me think of her. Tears of joy and sadness every time it gets played.
In January of 2020, my uncle passed away after a hell of a fight against cancer. Our home life wasn't great and he was there for us when all the adults we should have been able to trust weren’t acting right.
I don't think that I stopped listening to the Sticks and Stones version of this song until the Summer had started.

The lyrics can be sad, but if you listen to it enough you can actually gain positive perspective. It's always about trying to find good from a bad situation. Learning from past mistakes and applying it to future situations.
My aunt passed away three years ago, I miss her every day and every night, she was like my mother when she left us, she took a piece of my heart with her I hope that she is in the place that she deserves.

Oh god, the tears jerk just as hard. Lost my father unexpectedly in 2019, and was devastating. My mom got a golden retriever pup like 6 months later, and i immediately thought of this song, because he had wanted to name him Sonny, so thats what she did.

A friend bought me Sticks and Stones back in 2002 or so. Totally random. I’d never even heard of the band. We were both stationed in Italy with the Air Force at the time. Probably 20 years old. Maybe 19. I can’t count how many times I’ve listened to this album through. And here I am still listening all these years later.

I was 14 when i heard this album for the first time. I convinced my dad to buy me a distortion pedal so i could play along. At the music store he wanted me to show him why I needed it. I can't even remember what song I started but it was definitely from this album. 16 years later, I still play guitar, but became focused on drums. I'm 30. AndI love New Found Glory.

I lost my dad 21 years ago, just a year or two before I'd discover NFG. This is one of the songs I like to use to remember him, since he inspired my love of music.

I LOVED you guys for so many years, I'm 32 almost 33 now and thought the world of you guys since your music saved me many years ago but I NEED to get this off my chest. Back in 2008-2010 a girl in my school won a private concert from you guys even though no one knew anything about you all and I had to so a lot to get an invite. Anyway I show up and everything seems ok until you Jordan stop and ask for anyone to request a song and since nobody but me knew who you were I chimed in and asked " can you please play anything from your album nothing gold can stay"? And you looked at me and scoffed saying that nobody knew that album and moved on only to see that not a single soul in the room cared but me. You literally ruined so much of my conceived notions of musicians, now I'm not complaining at all now but wanted you to know how much it hurt then. Now I run a multi million dollar studio and you have helped me to find the actual good people in the industry to work with and if it weren't for you not many of the popular musicians would be in the top 10 every week, month, year. Overall thank you for showing me your true colors, hope one day you'll learn not to be that way towards your fans, you know the ones who gave you the life you love so much and overall be better people.
