That's isn't how it works. The ghost doesn't track player location when it isn't hunting. It can spawn in the hiding spot but it won't "know where you are" like you're saying. Especially when it went after Impulse first. The ghost will only path-find to one person at a time, ignoring others until it has a reason to target another. Grian must have had something turned on or simply got unlucky and the ghost wandered into the spot. Not all hiding spots are perfectly safe.

I did make a bit of an error by saying the ghost watched Grian go into the hiding spot before hunting, that's my bad. The ghost did find Grian because it had direct line of sight of him at some point before or after it killed Impulse. I watched this moment back and that is what it looks like. You are right, the ghost does not track player location when it's not hunting. It's a lot more convoluted than that. I definitely wasn't very direct with my explanation, that's my fault, I spoke as if the ghost wasn't an ai and instead a malevolent being (overactive imagination at work). I'm sorry if my comment is a bit vague, but there's multiple risks to hiding in the ghost room. First, if the hiding spot doesn't provide full cover there is always the present chance that the ghost will see you. Second, events are more likely to happen in the ghost room giving the chance for a ghost to event and then immediately start hunting right on top of the player. Third, the player is in the roaming zone so the ghost is more likely to stray towards them (not sure about this one, I read it from forum posts and patch notes from when the roaming update originally came out a couple years ago). I do want to mention that the path-finding doesn't work like that. The ghost will path-find towards the nearest player that the ghost detects. It will not ignore other players in the vicinity just because it is locked on to a specific player unless it is a Banshee. In the moment the ghost immediately killed Impulse and turned to where it last saw Grian because it had caught sight of him before he was fully behind cover. Since I watched the moment back again, I still think the ghost saw Grian and didn't detect anything he had on him. He wasn't holding a turned on flashlight and didn't have any electronics in his hand before he ducked behind the hiding spot. It definitely turned directly towards the spot Grian was last which is a bit telling. If the ghost didn't see Grian it might've just been a really unlucky wander :(
That’s what I was thinking, there’s that moment when it started a hunt and you can hear it and notice the hunting things, before the ghost fully appears and starts to move and I assume it can see you during that moment which is why being in the ghosts room when it starts that is so dangerous no matter how prepped you are for running and hiding
They nerfed the Tier I thermo (actually they made it fluctuate like it should have been doing the entire time), buffed the Tier II and Tier III thermos (you can now hold down the use button, and it keeps taking measurements), and they've also given a buff to all parababolic mics. -There's a chance a Tier III pterodactyl is now -_-the-_- way to locate the ghost room. They made the little sound dots actually -_-stay-_- on the interface so that you can properly determine the direction, AND- (they removed this from the patch notes, sry) they made an indicator for which floor the sound is coming from (above/below). Also you can now pause Tier III dots in place.
They removed the line in the patch notes about the dog staying on screen for the tier 3 parabolic. Thats apparently something coming, but not in this update.

from experience, shades CAN hunt when you're in the same room if you're 0.8% sanity and lower. i've had a shade hunt the when i was in the room while at 0% sanity. in regards to the Jinn, if the breaker is ON, is can lower a players sanity by 25% with EMF 2 or 5 BY the breaker. With breaker ON it will speedup with line of sight if the player is more than 3 meters away.
27:00 the flashlight thing is weird. When someone takes a flashlight or any other item sometimes itbwill leave a ghost version that you can't pick up because someone else has it XD.
The reason footsteps are so difficult to hear is because of the amount of verticality in this map. They changed how footsteps sound above and below you to help you determine above/below but part of that was making them quieter overall when not on your floor iirc.
My friend that plays told me if you go to the pool table and throw the green, blue, and orange balls into any pocket the pool table will give you a key

I love how the lighthouse makes a difficult map without being absurdly large. The glass and multiple levels create confusion during hunts, but it isnt a chore to play like the hike school or asylum
A week after, the lighthouse map makes one thing terribly apparent. The difficulty of the game _heavily_ depends on how far the ghost room is. And not in "meters from the center of the character model to the center of the ghost room in a straight line". But rather in "how far do you have to physically walk in order to put down your equipment and do some tests". In that regard, the light house map can have the most annoying variations in between maps. You don't know what map you will play. It might be small, or medium, or, arguably, large, depending on where the ghost decides to be. Then, if the ghost changes it's favorite room suddenly, you roll the dice all over again, and your small map can suddenly become a medium one, or vice versa. It's increasingly apparent that you'll have to change some things about the game in order for the lighthouse map to make sense. To that extent, I think a good first measure would be to no longer measure the difficulty of the map in three classes of square footage, but (1) consider the square footage, as a number, (2) consider the 'average ghost distance' value: calculate all path lengths to the ghost room for a given ghost room choice, average that, and then average that over all possible ghost room choices, weighing everything accordingly, if the ghost spawns are weighed to prefer certain rooms over other. These two numbers should then be used to dynamically determine the difficulty bonus of the map. This change would go a long way. But also, I think (3) there's another factor you should consider, which is the _variation_ of the second factor over the ghost room choices. In probability theory, the value characterizing that is called _dispersion,_ and if you take the square root of it, you'll get a value, in meters, that describes the _standard error_ of the second factor, i.e. how reflective the average actually is of a typical experience. And I _bet_ it's gonna be absolutely _wild_ on the lighthouse.

If I remember rightly none of them saved the vods to their channels. They spent hours not understanding the game and getting frustrated with it, so that negative vibe wasn’t something any of them wanted to preserve. They didn’t enjoy the game so they said they won’t be playing it again when they could play phasmo and guarantee they’ll have a good time.

the optimization changes they made for the update are so good!! it used to take my friend 2-3 minutes to load into the van whenever we started a game, now it takes them 30 seconds max! Plus, months ago we had been brainstorming cool map ideas and one of our top pics was a haunted lighthouse, imagine our surprise when they started developing that! (Now if only a haunted costco or cruise ship was witching the dev’s vision for the game…)
A haunted store would be neat. Navigating through the aisles, the backroom... I think a haunted fun house would be cool, too. Annoying to traverse, though, if there were a mirror maze. Maybe cool if you could watch the ghost through the glass. Imagine the rotating tunnels, etc
TH-cam doesn't use comments for engagement any more. People started trolling and writing random stuff throwing off the algorithm and basically shadowbanning videos.
If your ever getting bored of normal old phasmo, I would recomend trying movers mode phasmo. (Its a thing to to in phamo that me and some friends made up) Its where you go into a house and take out everything that you can grab and put it in the van. If you want you can figure out the ghost, but its really intertaining to do. :)
Yeah, sad that the vods got demonitized and they stopped playing it. It wasn't even intended by the musician, but this appeal process can take up to 30 days.
I couldn’t actually wait and braved the actual stream video. 😅 Sooo I’ve seen it already whoops. I actually took time to watch Insyms video. You now get an extra bonus if you succeed on bigger maps! Maybe that is an incentive for you? Also the parodactical apparently gives better indication to where the sound comes from. Basically I just really would love to see the occasional prison or other map. Lighthouse was pretty nice tho.
Sometimes, playing for a draw is a valid goal. There was an episode of Star Trek: TNG that went over this very thing. Data was playing a game called Strategema against a renowned strategist and he lost the first match. In the rematch, Data got his opponent to surrender by aiming for a draw. He knew that his opponent was playing to win. So, he passed up obvious avenues for advancement in favor of balance. Theoretically, he could stalemate the match indefinitely, turning the game into a war of attrition.

I would love to see you guys play game called "Dead By Daylight"! It's another (horror?) game! And it supports 5 players too!! The entire crew can play together!!!

If they did play, there's no VoD of it, unless it doesn't have Dead by Daylight in the VoD title.
If I remember rightly none of them saved the vods to their channels. They spent hours not understanding the game and getting frustrated with it, so that negative vibe wasn’t something any of them wanted to preserve. They didn’t enjoy the game so they said they won’t be playing it again when they could play phasmo and guarantee they’ll have a good time.

the optimization changes they made for the update are so good!! it used to take my friend 2-3 minutes to load into the van whenever we started a game, now it takes them 30 seconds max! Plus, months ago we had been brainstorming cool map ideas and one of our top pics was a haunted lighthouse, imagine our surprise when they started developing that! (Now if only a haunted costco or cruise ship was witching the dev’s vision for the game…)
A haunted Costco would be cool! I always thought that some sort of store would be cool. So many cool opportunities for a ghost hunting map

I think a haunted fun house would be cool, too. Annoying to traverse, though, if there were a mirror maze. Maybe cool if you could watch the ghost through the glass. Imagine the rotating tunnels, etc

If your ever getting bored of normal old phasmo, I would recomend trying movers mode phasmo. (Its a thing to to in phamo that me and some friends made up) Its where you go into a house and take out everything that you can grab and put it in the van. If you want you can figure out the ghost, but its really intertaining to do. :)
Every time I see Impulse play phasmo I always play the phasmo song in my head lolol
Yeah, sad that the vods got demonitized and they stopped playing it. It wasn't even intended by the musician, but this appeal process can take up to 30 days.

I actually took time to watch Insyms video. You now get an extra bonus if you succeed on bigger maps! Maybe that is an incentive for you? Also the parodactical apparently gives better indication to where the sound comes from.
Basically I just really would love to see the occasional prison or other map.

Sometimes, playing for a draw is a valid goal. There was an episode of Star Trek: TNG that went over this very thing. Data was playing a game called Strategema against a renowned strategist and he lost the first match. In the rematch, Data got his opponent to surrender by aiming for a draw. He knew that his opponent was playing to win. So, he passed up obvious avenues for advancement in favor of balance. Theoretically, he could stalemate the match indefinitely, turning the game into a war of attrition.

Aw that would be cool. Would be sick if it didn’t though, like it’s too powerful for a simple ghost to affect. Lighthouses are super symbolic so it would be cool to think like that if the ghost doesn’t affect it
Masks of Deception is a game like Phasmo that requires 6 people to play, meaning GIGGS can all play together and even have Jimmy play too
