- Learn to sew an easy and dramatic Batwing Blouse! A beginner friendly FREE sewing pattern that sews together quickly for a fun make with lots of wow factor ✨
It has a relaxed and simple design formed of one piece of cloth that drapes to the shape
of the body for an elegant & flattering fit. It works with a really wide range of fabric types
and lots of variation can be achieved by playing with different cloths & finishings ✂️
In this tutorial I show several finishing options and a couple of trim examples
to give you some ideas of what’s possible. But do let your imagination run wild with this one - as it’s such a quick and simple design it’s a great opportunity to create something special with the details! 💕

Thanks for this beautiful pattern and the video! It’s beautiful. Sorry, I’m a newbie to sewing, is the seam allowance included in the pattern or do I need to add it before cutting the fabric? And I cannot see the notches, either. Do they matter?

Hi there! Seam allowance is included & is 1.5cm. Please ignore the reference to the notches - I took them out for the final pattern to simplify as they're not really needed but forgot when putting that part of the tutorial together 🙈 🙃 💕

Hello this is amazing I’m way into it. I am making myself crazy here. I see I need 55 inch wide fabric but what length do I need to buy? I’ve watched the video a few times
If you have an old sheet or can get one from the thrift store, that would be a good material to use for a muslin. It's large enough and inexpensive!

Someone help, I printed out the pattern tiles but I can't find the "tile' map that she makes reference to in this video.

Hi Michelle - sorry for the late reply! The download opens a zip file that contains the pattern pages & instruction booklet - if you have the pattern pages then the instructions file must also be there in the same folder...

Wondering if a v-neck might work instead. Has anyone tried it? I’m thinking it might not agree with design.
I haven't tried a V neck but someone did recently send me a picture of a square necked version that looked lovely! My one concern would be that it would pull backwards due to the extra length/weight of the back.... 🤔 ✨
