I remember skating some speed demon decks back in the day. Even got them from my local Zumiez! The decks were not half bad. Lasted about like a normal local shop deck!
They tighten the wheels too much. They do actually roll once you loosen them. Pretty well I might add. Braille did a video on one recently. EDIT: The Speed Demon completes, that is. Kryptonics ones are awful.
They didn't over tighten shit, walmart boards flat out suck. Speed Demons or Kryptonics or anything else, if it's in walmart it's shit. I've honestly seen better boards at dicks sporting goods.
Curtis Rak Except you are wrong. Go watch the Braille Speed Demons board video. The board isn't great, and the bearings aren't great, but it still rolls well enough.
You see, I've already seen the video and they're many other factors to this so I still stand correct. Which I'm sure you're smart enough to notice so I'm exiting this conversation. Have a nice day.
Curtis Rak What are you on about? Other factors? What does that mean? Maybe the boards changed since then, but that also doesn't change the fact that the Speed Demons board rolled well enough in the Braille video, as well several other videos. Sure, you could get a much better board for a little more, but I'm not saying "Go by speed demons they are the best". Simply stating that the bearings aren't so bad now. By the way, I never mentioned Kryptonics being good so I don't know why you included that in your original comment.
Ahh man this brings back lots of memories! I live in Canada and started skating in 99 and my first board was a Canadian Walmart deck! At that time Canadian Tire(a automotive store) boards were slightly better than Walmart but they still fell apart the same. Hahaha the trucks bent just from learning to Ollie and the wheels literally will start to flake away after time. If you tighten the trucks all the way after a minute theyll be loose thats the reason why i skate loose trucks till this day.
Oh yeah i dont know about nowadays but back then cheap U.S boards were better than ours at least Kmart decks were. Before i got my first good deck which was a Maple Chad Knight deck. I went on a trip to see family in Kansas and got a Kmart deck. I couldnt even ride it because the bearings were so smooth and fast compared to mine. It had a concave and the wheels werent plastic nor did they flake and fall apart.
Ay berrics, im noticing how much chris joslin be grabbin that bad knee of his, from one injured skater to another id appreciate yalls passn this Message to homeboy : TAKE IT EASY Its worth it to Chill until ur foreal allgood
kickasskeenan not worth getting broke off skating Walmart boards or any other unnecessary ish. Joslin is too young and has too much potential to have his career cut short, real talk.
that was so rad when he tried to roll without taking the stoppers off the wheels. i’ve had a lot of shit on my mind the last couple days and somehow just wasn’t paying attention and was actually surprised when he fell; laughed my ass off.
Or Chris cole. Or Prod or mikey taylor or shane o'neil or Tony and riley hawk or Chris haslam or rodney mullen or daewon song or andrew reynolds or jerry hsu or chaz ortiz...
Or leticia bufoni or sean malto or Eric koston or Erik ellington or Alex middler or mike carrol or aaron homoki or lizard king or beagle or some random cute dog or Antwuan Dixon or Joey brezinski or Jamie Thomas or David gravette or moose...
Who disliked this? It is actually a very good vid for parents to see. And knowing how crappy the product is I wonder how liable the department store and manufacturer would be if a kid gets hurt? They are so cheaply made a kid could get hurt just riding down the street. Sniff sniff I smell a lawsuit.
deep concave with super grippy grip are the best,,skate shops sell a lot of flat boards and bad grip,i used to get injured a lot from bad grip tape and flat boards,,,,if you enjoy doing good consistantly find your proper shape and ride the same set up and you will always improve,,,its highly important to find your set up,,tech riding for me deep concave is best, stronger as well,,,ive had a few bad injuries from flat boards breaking too easily,,i avoid bad product,,trust your gear
My first board i got was from Walmart around 19yrs ago and swear it was much better then the shit they sell today. Think it lasted ~month as I was learning to ride & ollie but damn did it feel great when I got to use my friends real boards in between that first month and getting my first complete at my local shop.
Here is a challenge for Chris. Film him doing a first try 360 flip everyday down the 10. See how many days he can do it in a row. Since he does them first try everyday anyway. What a freak
I think my second or third deck was a Speed Demon. And I also had another when I was strapped for cash and snapped my old Zero. I get the Kryptonics and shit because the plys arent together like a real board.... but I wonder if he focused the speed demon board because it was actually almost decent, which would have ruined the point of the video.
i wanna see all the new tech, like carbon fiber decks, the shoes that absrob impact, shock absorbing truck or whatever they are,all used at the same time as an overall to see if its easier in any way,,i bet it is in some ways, show the pros and ppl the future
my 1st board was a Mongoose from toys rus it had a sick graphic. i had plenty of those fake shitty boards like kryptonics the deck or trucks always break
I got the nephew one of those just to learn to ride. I switched the wheels and bearings out though. I don't know it they were the same but it honestly wasn't that bad
Speed Demon used to be a reputable skate company, they mostly made wheels. I wish they woulda tried that board out more. Also, I remember seeing darkstar (another previously reputable company) boards at Walmart and wondering if they were any good. Anyone ever try one?
Mario Garcia I wish I could open skate shops in other countries that don't have it and sell it at normal prices not triple the price like some countries pay. I feel like I take it for granted some times that I live in California and have a skate shop every couple miles.
Its a stab to the heart to see speed demon resorting to selling decks at walmart ive actually riddwn some really nice speed demons when i was starting to skate in fact it was my first pro deck that i rode
joshtoy my first real deck was a checkerboard Speed Demon 7.5 that i got from Zumiez when i was 11 or 12... this was back in ‘09/‘10 tho so i wouldn’t be surprised if they got even worse
That board died smiling because it actually got skated before it died!!!!! Good example of living everyday like its your last!!
It got skated by Chris Joslin, that's why it was smiling
Live every day as it was your last one !!
holy shit taht was deep
Rzl dzl
This made me laugh really hard dude XD
I love how Joslin carved plan B into the board
Walmart boards would be good if you changed the griptape, wheels, bearings, trucks, hardware, and the deck
I'm dead 😂😂😂
Your a fuckin dumb that would be like getting a hole new bored
+dannyboy768 that's the joke... You aren't that smart, are you?
+Matt Freede obviously I'm smart just look at my grammar
+dannyboy768 lol
Make luan Oliveira ride a Walmart board and see how his pop is
Yes!
Jayden Sisk 2 pieces after a single ollie
@@ProjectASkate still waiting
This is why I couldn't land tricks with that board I bought from Toy's R Us when I was 11. Man I saved all $25 bucks up myself too....#salty
robert lemons jr haha
robert lemons jr honestly the old walmart/target boards were better quality or at least the trucks were metal and the bearings worked
ProjectGuantanamo Haha never used em. Soon as that bad boy wouldn't roll, I got a real one. I think it was a Shorty's board from CCS. Haha
robert lemons jr speed demon?
Should have kept saving like I did when I was 10 and got an active complete. Even as a little kid I knew what a shitty product was lol.
please do another consumer report
+Cheese Man what should we do it on this time?
different type of boards maybe target boards ive heard they have better grip or maybe some shitty trucks or wheels
+The Berrics you should give these shity boards to diffrent skaters
Sketchers or crocs
Ben Salinas The Berrics FUCKING YES WHAT THAT GUY SAID DO IT
I think this is my favorite video I've ever seen Chris do
to be honest the "Speed Demons" graphic were kinda sick lol
If they were real boards I'd buy them those graphics were sick
+Cmb Sb oh they slowly shutdown like darkstar is now?
***** sounds sick
+Hilman Azraei They used to be pretty legit, like Airwalk and all the other supermarket champs
+xSLLR Speed demon was my first complete, it was such a sick board! Not to mention it lasted years.
The point about spending even more to pick up your kids from the hospital was a good point😂
0:21 - he’s absolutely right. I broke my arm from falling off a bad board just from pushing, because it stopped out of nowhere.
" is the graphic a sticker?" "No it's a paper"
I remember skating some speed demon decks back in the day. Even got them from my local Zumiez! The decks were not half bad. Lasted about like a normal local shop deck!
LOL the graphics are "speed demons" but the board almost doesn't roll
They tighten the wheels too much. They do actually roll once you loosen them. Pretty well I might add. Braille did a video on one recently.

This was brilliant. Chris Joslin was the right guy to test the boards! I wish I could bail like him
"The trucks, they're smiling!" I'm dead 😂
Ahh man this brings back lots of memories! I live in Canada and started skating in 99 and my first board was a Canadian Walmart deck! World industries always had amazing quality for the price of the boards and they used to sell them
At walmart it was sick
speed demons used to be so bad ass. Speed Demon, GoodWood and Mini Logo kept my poor ass skating for a couple years haha.
imwellaswell same, one of my first shop decks was a good wood board
Ay berrics, im noticing how much chris joslin be grabbin that bad knee of his, from one injured skater to another id appreciate yalls passn this Message to homeboy : TAKE IT EASY

kickasskeenan bi
I would like to see yall test the dark stars from Walmart
***** Yea... sellouts
***** If I remember it right, speed demon was actually a decent real skate brand back in the day...Now they are just selling crap in walmart.
I think darkstar should stick to making decks, and not grip, wheels etc.
Richard Yang yup, a speed demon was my first board.
DC is in sears
Seeing Chris' treflips with kind of walmart board makes me happy and cry at ones
Can’t believe it’s been 4 years already
Bring this back NOW!!!!!!!!
Chris was not tryin to skate those boards hahaha
that was so rad when he tried to roll without taking the stoppers off the wheels. i’ve had a lot of shit on my mind the last couple days and somehow just wasn’t paying attention and was actually surprised when he fell; laughed my ass off.
R.I.P. RIHAPPY
Love the chaotic energy
Imagine boards looked like these though… so dope
Do more of these they are so funny
More of these!
3:27 Damn, is that board made out of cardboard?
Make more of these with chris joslin
My first board was a "Fly'n Brian" Kmart- I'll never forget that terrible first board that made me so genuinely happy
You guys should do another one were u get luan oliveria skate a walmart board and see how much speed, pop, and tech he can do .
Or Chris cole.

Joslin is a beast!!!
Great review, think I'm gonna buy 'em

These are seriously my favorite 😂
pls more !
Funny thing is that there was a darkstar board on the shelf above
Zak Skatez they passed on it because it would of been a legitimate starter deck

The Darkstar completes were really legit for 40 bucks. I still have one as a backup and it's not like the boards seen here.
wanted to see axel grinds on the wavy trucks
the bearings in the speed demons board is actually pretty good
i bought speed demons bearings and was wondering why they fall apart so quickly. reading the name on one of this boards explains it very well
Man and Speed Demons use to have some dope bearings! what a same selling out can do!
My trucks started to dent in like that but after 4 months of going hard when I just started. Went out and got me some thunders
I guess there is a science to creating something that can withstand all that pressure.
Please do another report
When i started skating, i skated Walmart boards for almost 2 years.
Worked fine for me.
Is that Speed Demons as in the old bearing company?
The plastic on the wheel is a skater trainer
I actually had a legit speed demons board a few years ago. Did my first fakie dlip down 7 with it. I think it was less than 30 for the deck tho.
i had a speed demons trucks, not that bad
I think my second or third deck was a Speed Demon. And I also had another when I was strapped for cash and snapped my old Zero. I get the Kryptonics and shit because the plys arent together like a real board.... but I wonder if he focused the speed demon board because it was actually almost decent, which would have ruined the point of the video.
BEST INFORMATION.:)
Wow. The trucks actually bent!!! What are the trucks made of? Lol.
Has anyone a idea what the trousers called that he is wearing ?
i wanna see all the new tech, like carbon fiber decks, the shoes that absrob impact, shock absorbing truck or whatever they are,all used at the same time as an overall to see if its easier in any way,,i bet it is in some ways, show the pros and ppl the future
braille skateboarding up in this B.
my 1st board was a Mongoose from toys rus it had a sick graphic. i had plenty of those fake shitty boards like kryptonics the deck or trucks always break
I got the nephew one of those just to learn to ride. I switched the wheels and bearings out though. I don't know it they were the same but it honestly wasn't that bad
the board with the green deck and it says kryptonics on it was my very first skateboard
i bet these have been on the shelf for 14 years lmao
Double upload, ples berrics
Holy shit this was two years ago.
chris: should we switch boards the other dude: NO!
ITV : Berrics does a Braille video but more chill
Skateboard: **claims to be a Speed Daemon**
Also Skateboard: **flows like molasses**
Please do more of these lmao
it broke from a flick
thats chris joslin for ya
Speed Demon used to be a reputable skate company, they mostly made wheels. I wish they woulda tried that board out more. Also, I remember seeing darkstar (another previously reputable company) boards at Walmart and wondering if they were any good. Anyone ever try one?
if only this video was out when my grandmother was buying me skateboards for xmas...lol...she understood after awhile.
I remember getting a board from Wal-Mart when I was 13, it lasted one week.
i remember watching this when i was 11 years old on 2015😂😂
Another!
there was a darkstar deck right in front of them
those are like the only board we have access to in belize....we could really use some help
Mario Garcia I wish I could open skate shops in other countries that don't have it and sell it at normal prices not triple the price like some countries pay. I feel like I take it for granted some times that I live in California and have a skate shop every couple miles.
The board was smiling cause it saw Chris's True part.
it worked even my small town walmart has elements, and darkstar boards/completes since around twenty nine teen numbers don't work on this keyboard
Could I please come skate there with you guys!!!? 😩
Speed Demon? Like the bearings from around 2000?
Now this is a good Walmart board video
'About a year ago, we came here and got some shitty boards', turns up almost 2 years later to the same store, wearing the same clothes :P
That was cool
I'm more impressed that he could keep busting his ass over and over testing that garbage board. LOL
Still better than me on a pro set up lolol
HAVE they upgraded um yet?
My speed demons deck years back broke when i ollied off a curb lol
" it's smiling, have a nice day"
You should return them! Walmart takes anything back! 😂
You need to loosen the wheel nut that's why they don't spin it's because the nut is to tight and the bearings are abec1 bearings
Its a stab to the heart to see speed demon resorting to selling decks at walmart ive actually riddwn some really nice speed demons when i was starting to skate in fact it was my first pro deck that i rode
''Should we switch boards?'' 'NO.''
Hold up, Speed Demon as in the bearing company, is making cheap completes?!
joshtoy my first real deck was a checkerboard Speed Demon 7.5 that i got from Zumiez when i was 11 or 12... this was back in ‘09/‘10 tho so i wouldn’t be surprised if they got even worse
i bought a supermarket board once and the grip was just sand glued to the wood and painted black
This is more of a danger then anything. Some kid is going to ollie a 3 stair and the board is just going to explode.
