Dude, there was a 4 and a 5 right next to each other and i just did the 4 stair one day when I thought, 'hmm, maybe I'll try the 5 and see what happens'. It really didnt make much of a difference, made it 2nd try. Still can't kickflip tho :( Thats my war
WOW. This was so amazing and insane I love it. I used to skateboard in my prime and I know damn well the cameras still just do not do enough justice to how MASSIVE these rails and gaps and shit are. I'd be scared to walk down that, forget trying to just run and jump over it, but a 360 flip? Jesus that is talent and balls.
No it’s defiantly letting go, and focusing on your trick/ what your doing, and being hyper aware, fear should be the last thing your thinking about before doing something like that or don’t do it
I got to give a shout out to Andrew Reynolds just because he was my all time favorite skateboarder growing up but I give props to Chris Joslin. This man is well respected in my book, I am opening up a beer for him.
For the people that put thumbs down are the guys only in there dreams wish they could pull it off ,they obviously don't know much about skating , sweet as man you killed it 😎
Haha for real I'd struggle just jumping off that.. let alone flying off it as fast as humanly possible on a skate board. Biggest pair of knackers aye😅hardcore! To land even an Ollie at that speed and height is nuts enough, but fluid flip wizardry like that and to roll away.. difficulty is insane. Knowing full well it's going to take so much grit to get there too. It's fucking insane, even to watch 👁️👄👁️
wow, awesome to see that, I grew up on Oak ave just by UC Davis campus, that was my old stomping ground for BMX and skating (80s before it was illegal on campus). I can remember riding our mountain bikes off that. Never thought I would see someone do that on a skateboard.
Its just sixteen stairs, i really dont understand the hype. El toro is harder, if i get the thing right. Twenty stairs, longer and higher. What do i not see? I mean, no disrespect and i luv joslin most, it just didnt look like his hardest tricks, did it? Was more impressed of penny kickflip, i was like wtf!? It is not real! Suicide!
He actually tre flipped el toro Birthe didn’t like it so it’s not released he says it in an interview and on the nine club he shows it to crob and the rest there
since you guys all growning up and all, you probably don't have time to even go or tape it might as well just go to the college enroll pass your classes and do a trick on that gap for graduation seems more realistic.
williejames huff hmm. I’m pretty sure what Rowan means here is that you would think that Chris Joslin might wear protective gear. But instead he just put on shirts which won’t protect him from cracking his bones.
I believe it would have to be done if Duffel mentioned it. To rather have one interview, than more about who went down it. And when Duffel said many skaters went down it, they should of shown others, but that would make it a history of Davis gap rather than focusing on Joslin's giant 3-flip.
Reynolds kick flip is my favorite trick to go down this gap. What kind of 32 year old man would endure the beating your gonna take from the Davis gap, Only Reynolds .
It's weird when you land it perfectly It doesn't even feel like much of an impact, I flipped down stairsets obviously not this big but when you do it perfectly it feels like you did it down a gutter it's trippy I rekon he got that feeling on this one
Man the precision to this 3 flip is intense but he lands with such grace. I'm dedicating my next gap trick to this dude. And I have a few gnarly ones in mind...
Distance is close to the same but this is at least 5 feet taller. And anybody who did anything major at wallenberg used the ramp drop in which made it pretty easy to clear
That trick has so many ways to go wrong, it's much harder to kick a board out with tre flips as well that's why people ruin their ankles on them also how his knees were kept so controlled I have seen much smaller gaps where skaters eat their own knee caps. Amazing amazing footage!
Yeah no I mean I even get into a crazy headspace ollieing an 8 stair, I cant even imagine what you gotta do mentally to prepare for this. And I mean it could be true given his exposure to this stuff in the past. Joslin seems like an otherwise down to earth dude tho
Hey thrasher, thanks for the music creds at the end. Honestly. And thanks for this series. I subscribed to the mag because of it. Keep on the good fight
I love how a skater’s definition of protection is 2 shirts
eenin better than one
Where you think the long sleeve shirt under a t-shirt trend came from!?!🤣👍
HAHAHAHA LOL
2 shirts doesn’t count
@@jasuudjsbdbdhjs i couldnt wear 2 shirts i would sweating to much xD
"trying to keep this dude a secret" I think Chris Joslin is the only thing Chris Joslin needs to be heard.
Yessir
Why no one reply to you, ur the one and only Jhon hill
rida H y guy, did you really just spell John wrong?😂
Holy shirt John hilll
Yo john I love your channel
3:21 There's my war
Same!
Just won that war this morning
Max Benkard W proud u bro
😂😂😂 dude
I can tre flip cheap Walmart boards but not pro decks lol
4:18 you can even hear his catch mid air, clean as fuck. insane
I ain’t even notice that until now
If "My War" was the only content on this channel, I'd still subscribe.
This guy is giving his body to skateboarding... I mean literally. When you hear the word "commitment", think of Chris... dude defines it.
Don’t you ever forget about Heath Kirchart.
My War: Ollie a 5 stair
+Samuel Sanchez This comment is underrated.😂😂😂😂👍
I still can't 5 stair
+Samuel Sanchez Well I can't ollie a curb yet.
I cant even pop the board to ollie
Dude, there was a 4 and a 5 right next to each other and i just did the 4 stair one day when I thought, 'hmm, maybe I'll try the 5 and see what happens'. It really didnt make much of a difference, made it 2nd try. Still can't kickflip tho :( Thats my war
Favorite skater . He sends it 100% no matter what he’s doing . If you watch the man is consistent on how he falls so he doesn’t get hurt . True legend
Secret tip: wear two shirts.
😂😂
+Ken Arista lmao
Hoodie
Ken Arista And bring 2 boards
Hmm... I was told by these cool kids that i should only skate in shorts. 😕
Aaron Kyro manualed that gap
I laughed way too much
Real pro's > Aaron kyro
Fetty darkslided it
FIRST TRYYYYYYYYY!!
Are you talking about the pro skater from San Francisco Bay Area
I cried…
salve Jasiel Calixto
jasielllllll
+Jasiel Calixto me too..
It's gonna be okay babe.
Wuss
joslin is changing the game.
+Josh Katz helmet
+Josh Katz I love you
+Josh Katz YOU CANT DO THAT
+Josh Katz helmet
+Josh Katz helmi
You've gotta have NO FEAR of death or permanent injury to be a pro skater...huge respect for these guys.
"no fear" doesn't exist.. What happens is knowing what you're doing and going with fear. If you are not afraid you are a psychopath.
thats stupid
It’s not really no fear it’s just not thinking about it and just focusing on whatever trick your trying to do
Dumbest comment i’ve ever seen
No it’s defiantly letting go, and focusing on your trick/ what your doing, and being hyper aware, fear should be the last thing your thinking about before doing something like that or don’t do it
Insane!
Yes!!
fs flip it luan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+Ryan Syaprawi that's not actually luan idiot
I have a feeling this is secretly Luan commenting in all these videos trolling all of us... Lmao
you guys are fucking retarded it took me 2 minutes to figure out it's not him
4:19 Love how you can hear his feet catch the board in the air after he did the tre-flip before even landing it.
Legend in the books. I could watch him skate all day. One of my favorite skaters of all time. Keep it up badass...
One of the biggest 360 flips to ever be done, he also slayed el toro!
3:13 respect to that dude. and he landed it after that too. a little support goes a long way
I was waiting for them to mention Reynold's massive kickflip down it.
Yeah that wad kinda fuckd up, Reynolds killed that shit in Stay Gold
I was literally scrolling comments waiting for an honorable... That's lame.
Pure Insanity. Joslin is a pure master. I want this photo framed on my wall as a motivational tool.
Chris, you've done some of the biggest and best sets, your skating is so impressive and huge, nothing like it.
Ive probably said this but I'll say it again. This guy has two my wars. 2. Legend.
Landed it at 4:20 blaze it
Fabio Bruno I was searching for you
they probably did it on purpose because my man chris is always looking stoned asab
such a low impact landing. looked like joslin could've dropped another 10 feet and stuck it.... beastman
Crazy good !
hi there didn't see you
i think i did a switch tre down that one time when i was high on weed and pot at the same time i didnt really want to film it
My nigga
Tom Marhahaha High on weed and pot lol
#me too
you on some dummy shit 😂
Laced with pcp
I use to watch these when I first started skating and now coming back with more knowledge I somehow appreciate it more
MAKE MORE MY WARSSS!!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Chris Joslin has been my favorite skater for years. This is the video most people who I know watch for motivation, Chris is a maniac.
Biggest tre flip in the history of skateboarding period.
i just love the sound of the flick, the catch and the landing. They all sound so crisp and clean
I got to give a shout out to Andrew Reynolds just because he was my all time favorite skateboarder growing up but I give props to Chris Joslin. This man is well respected in my book, I am opening up a beer for him.
I see that 9 flat 9 in the background..... puts the size of that gap in retrospect.... MASSIVE!
insane. he basically tre-flipped that 9 flat 9 in the background, but that gap is an even bigger dorp
i was counting that too just to realize how big this thing is,
*DORP*
Nobith Thanksy wow good eye. That puts a new perspective on it! "9 (4 foot gap) 9" that's definitely as high as el toro, and probably 3 feet longer!
thats honestly insane to think about
Pipe by Fuzz goes so well with this and the way they edited the best parts of the song together. So badass
I like the track at 3:00 total Sabbath/iommi influences in the beginning
_coma_ yeaah! I thought the same
It's the song Pipe by the amazing band Fuzz
@_coma_ @Maxiss in the end at 4:52 the songs are mentioned
It's so gnarly to see pros supporting each other Chris you super amazing keep it up (btw Luan you super amazing)
I have to be honest I had no idea this was going on in skateboarding. This is amazing content.
For the people that put thumbs down are the guys only in there dreams wish they could pull it off ,they obviously don't know much about skating , sweet as man you killed it 😎
my favorite part is his little "thank you" at 4:31
Joslin you are the man! Chris Joslin & Grant Taylor, my two favorite skaters these days!!!
His trucks spark from the impact when he lands at 4:15 - so dope.
Came back here after the el toro tre, for sure Joslin will serve as a new banger. history my friends.
Dude, this is insane.
I wouldn't even try this on SKATE 3.
It's fucking insane, even to watch
👁️👄👁️
Amazing. Incredible. I have a lot of plan b boards but now it's time for a joslin board. I wanna support him all I can. Legend.
So sick Corey was in the interview he's a classic
Depends what era you are from. Corey came in late to me, but Jamie Thomas is a classic.
wow, awesome to see that, I grew up on Oak ave just by UC Davis campus, that was my old stomping ground for BMX and skating (80s before it was illegal on campus). I can remember riding our mountain bikes off that. Never thought I would see someone do that on a skateboard.
Amazing how clean he landed and he landed with authority too. Unbelievable.
HE STOMPED DAT SHEEEIT
I just started skating and videos like these inspire me to do greatness
Its just sixteen stairs, i really dont understand the hype. El toro is harder, if i get the thing right. Twenty stairs, longer and higher. What do i not see? I mean, no disrespect and i luv joslin most, it just didnt look like his hardest tricks, did it? Was more impressed of penny kickflip, i was like wtf!? It is not real! Suicide!
Time to tre flip el toro and just ruin everyones favorite quote "tre flip el toro"
30lbs of boost_jpg or backside flip...
30lbs of boost_jpg he'd be the one to do it for sure
i call peter is gonna do it
Zach Fitzgerald once Peter tre flips Davis then you can say that but for the mean time hell nah
He actually tre flipped el toro Birthe didn’t like it so it’s not released he says it in an interview and on the nine club he shows it to crob and the rest there
I live these war videos I remember hanging that page in my high school locker door dope pic makes that tri flip look epic
i want to see this gap in person!!! I'm guessing it's a college or university anyone know?
It's so big, that you wouldn't even recognize it. Haha
UC Davis college in Davis, Ca ive been there and it's so much bigger in person you wouldn't believe it
+Nicolas HD Tejera carrizo dam that ground doesnt lok soft at all tooo
since you guys all growning up and all, you probably don't have time to even go or tape it might as well just go to the college enroll pass your classes and do a trick on that gap for graduation seems more realistic.
Nick holt hardflip it lol no
Thank God! We got a new *My War* Keep on requesting this!!
nice day at the office
Oh hey
Joslin one of my favorite skater!! Dang bro...
Jumps 30 feet gap.
“This is big Ima put on to shirts for this”
williejames huff hmm. I’m pretty sure what Rowan means here is that you would think that Chris Joslin might wear protective gear. But instead he just put on shirts which won’t protect him from cracking his bones.
I love this dude's spirit and logic. I think he thinks, "if I can skate this, I can skate virtually anything." A very no-nonsense and brave approach.
He landed so damn epic he sparked the ground check it"!
I wasn't sure if I as seeing shit, but yeah, he sparked on the landing.
That was one of the most beautiful things Ive ever seen. Thank You
Ryan Decenzo tried FS flipping this and couldn't...if Decenzo can't FS flip something you know that it's fucking gnarly
Reynolds couldn't do it either ahha
I love watching these cause the 5 minutes feels like an entire movie
Thanks God at the end of a Thrasher vid? Now that's an NBD.
I’ve been to Davis gap. Guys let me tell you… it’s monstrous. You have to have balls to do anything over the Davis gap. Balls of steel!
Total Boss
I go Davis, and seeing that gap in person is another beast.
honestly how is this not a cover?
One of the best series ever. Makes me motivated!
Kinda salty they didn't show reynolds kickflip on it
Same
+jake hoyt too soon
I believe it would have to be done if Duffel mentioned it. To rather have one interview, than more about who went down it. And when Duffel said many skaters went down it, they should of shown others, but that would make it a history of Davis gap rather than focusing on Joslin's giant 3-flip.
Reynolds kick flip is my favorite trick to go down this gap. What kind of 32 year old man would endure the beating your gonna take from the Davis gap, Only Reynolds .
Lol knew this would be mentioned in the comments
It's weird when you land it perfectly It doesn't even feel like much of an impact, I flipped down stairsets obviously not this big but when you do it perfectly it feels like you did it down a gutter it's trippy I rekon he got that feeling on this one
Just an amazing young man! Way to go Joslin.. Super cool about giving thanks to God at the end👍
It's crazy how easy he made it look
Love the way Chris falls. He just rolls out of it. Fantastic skater.
love how Corey is talking about it. Big tre flip!
Good guy Fillipe Gustavo...helping Joslin change his trucks.
The music in these is always really good. Cheers.
Chris "i always rip my shirt off" Joslin lol

Always been one of my favorite skaters
He woke up five minutes before the interview
Man the precision to this 3 flip is intense but he lands with such grace. I'm dedicating my next gap trick to this dude. And I have a few gnarly ones in mind...
MY WAR: just to ollie the 8-stair gap at the hospital in my old town LOL
My knees hurt from just watching this!
why was Duffel in it when he only 180 it when Reynolds kick flipped?
caleb baker duffel was like 8 years before
duffel salty af
Best part of the video it's him thanking God for the achievement ! Awesome !
No one was ever robbed as hard as Joslin was for SOTY in 2018.
whattttt big spin Hollywood 16 never saw that but omg was that 360 flip so amazing
I don't understand how he landed it so perfectly
This is my favourite of these, wow
Took my finals in that building today lol
hope yours went well my 7a final was a bitch
That’s just a beautiful tre flip, perfect
so how does this stack up to chris cole's Wallenberg 360 flip?
nope
Distance is close to the same but this is at least 5 feet taller. And anybody who did anything major at wallenberg used the ramp drop in which made it pretty easy to clear
+Dank Meme The the fuck can I see the footage of that?!
+Dank Meme
Didn't he "accidentally" do it before the filmer got his camera out of the bag? And did inward heel instead or something.
+Butt Hole both dope, I guess?
That trick has so many ways to go wrong, it's much harder to kick a board out with tre flips as well that's why people ruin their ankles on them also how his knees were kept so controlled I have seen much smaller gaps where skaters eat their own knee caps. Amazing amazing footage!
2:41 you can tell he was tweaking check out the lizard tongue.
Definitely on one for this Tre flip
www.rollingstone.com/sports/features/chris-joslin-born-under-a-bad-sign-20150616
+Dank Meme oh dam wasnt tring to be a dick you can tell he has passion I used to work at a pawn shop I can just tell when people are on one.
Yeah no I mean I even get into a crazy headspace ollieing an 8 stair, I cant even imagine what you gotta do mentally to prepare for this. And I mean it could be true given his exposure to this stuff in the past. Joslin seems like an otherwise down to earth dude tho
what do you mean?
Hey thrasher, thanks for the music creds at the end. Honestly. And thanks for this series. I subscribed to the mag because of it. Keep on the good fight
