Thanks for all your content on this Prince ! This will be a lifelong thing, their melodies get into your soul. You will still be listening to them when you are 50 and you find new and favourite songs, parts to songs and things you didn’t appreciate all the time. Their catalogue is so deep and varied.
About the career of Beatles, Day Tripper (and The Help album) was released in 65, and Let It be was released in 70. Meaning: its the equivalent of releasing the first song in 2019 and their last one in 2024. It's 7 really unique albuns in 5 years: Help and Rubber Soul (65), Revolver (66) Peppers and Magical Mistery Tour (67), White Album (68), Abbey Road (69), Let It Be (70)
I had to chuckle. Each song you'd say THIS is my favorite Beatles song. Can you imagine saying that listening to the catalogue of any other group? Funny thing is, I do the same thing even all these years later as a Beatles fan ( I do the same with do I prefer Paul or John :-). I listened with you to We Can Work it Out and I thought THAT's my favorite Beatles song, then Paperback Writer, then Rain. And on and on.! You probably will never settle on your favorite (I remember you loving Across the Universe when you were listening to the Let it Be Album). That's just the way it is with the Beatles. Every song (almost) becomes your favorite song!
Rain is actually recorded double speed. So they slowed it down, that why you feel that lay down qualia to it. It's on the remastered version of Revolver. My fav song tooooo
The Inner Light is the only Beatles song not recorded in Britain, it was recorded in India. I think it was either whilst all of them were there (on their meditation trip where they wrote most of the White Album) or George did it on his own. As for how much of Yoko's involvement in the Beatles music: You can hear her voice in Bungalow Bill and Revolution 9 (and she wrote the piano part and was in the recording studio with John and George setting up all the tape loops for that song) and the songs "I'm So Tired", "Julia" (when John says "ocean child calls me", he's referring to Yoko, I think one of the characters in her name means ocean), "Don't Let Me Down", "Dig A Pony", "I Want You (She's So Heavy)" are all about her as well as obviously "The Ballad of John and Yoko"
Ironically, the Beatle who wrote and sang Let it Be which you totally love, is the same one who sang Long Tall Sally and Lady Madonna. So you were right you just have a kind of love/hate thing with him (Paul). The Inner Light was recorded in India with Indian musicians. George oversaw the sessions. I think he might be your favorite. You usually totally dig his songs (except for Old Brown Shoe 😄)
1:48 Yea, Day Tripper was a reference to LSD, it was pretty much a double meaning between that and the main premise being about a promiscuous sort of woman/prostitute. It was also the bands first song influenced by acid, this was Rubber Soul era for perspective, the single (this and We Can Work It Out) were paired with the album.
Also you have to do the 3 POST Beatles singles - Free and A Bird, Real Love and the just released Now and Then. All John lennon demo, that the other 3 Beatles used and finished. These we made in 1995 as part of the Beatles Anothology project, the first 2 sogns were released. It was not until new tech to take out the loud piano from John voice and reworked it that they could finally release Now and Then./ Watch the video! (and dont forget the LOVE ablum)
Yeah Free as a bird, Real Love, and Now and Then are bangers and so are their music videos ngl🔥. Wouldn't recommend the anthology albums though. They just songs used in the 1995-1996 anthology documentaries. Most of them consist of different takes or mixes of already released songs🙉. The LOVE album though being a remix album, its probably one of my favorite😂. Its basically an album made in 2006 by George Martin who compiled and remixed a bunch of beatles tracks and made it into a 1h 26 min ultimate mashup where all the songs transitions into each other so its kind of like one big song starting with Because and ending with Girl🔥. My favorite part is the Mr. Kite/ I want you/ Helter skelter mix. Its a little on the long side but its a pretty solid album with clean✨️ transitions
My top 5: 1. Hey Jude, 2. Day Tripper, 3. We Can Work It Out, 4. Revolution, 5. Paperback Writer. I love "Let It Be", "Across the Universe" and "Get Back" too, but the Let It Be versions of those songs are enough for me. This CD's "Revolution" is a different version of "Revolution 1" from the White Album, but I prefer this harder version of that song. All of these except "Across the Universe" were singles, but some were B-sides. Sometimes the Beatles B-sides were just as good as the A-sides, but some B-sides could never have been the A-side of a single. Paul wrote "Hey Jude" for John's son Julian when John and his 1st wife separated, as a song to comfort Julian through that difficult time. "The Inner Light" has more to do with Eastern spirituality than drugs. You can hear the Indian sounding instruments in it.
31:17 Actually this was the original version, the single versions you here on here of Get Back, Across The Universe and Let It Be all predate the release of the album. 32:56 Not only was it a single but it was the b side to Let It Be, lol.
I agree with you that the Revolver era stuff is the best. I'm not sure which songs you'd replace, but imagine if that album included Rain, Paperback Writer and We Can Work It Out. That would put it over the top. Disagree on Lady Madonna though. I've come to really love that song. Revolution and Revolution 1 from the white album are the same song. Revolution is sped up and feedback drenched, which was not John's favorite. He liked the album cut better. I used to dismiss Old Brown Show, but it has grown on me a lot over the years. It's one of their hardest rocking songs and has George's most stinging guitar solo. Just a good, hard rock song. Final edit/comment... You should check out Let It Be Naked for a couple of alternate versions. Across the Universe is crazy good, stripped down to just light backing and John's spacey sounding vocal. The Long and Winding Road is much better too, with the orchestration removed and just Paul's amazing vocal at the forefront.
I mentioned to him in the last video that the Beatles released their final new song, "Now and Then" a few months ago, but he must have forgotten when he said they released it a couple years ago.
15:04 Hey Jude was a song from Paul written for John's son Julian when he was about 5 as a way to reassure him during Lennon's divorce with Cynthia, his first wife and Julians mother. Hey Jude would have to be tied with Yesterday as the bands most famous and iconic song.
I agree with John’s opinion that the song was about himself. The lyrics make a lot of sense regarding Lennon’s situation at the time, and basically none when looking at Julian’s.
@@anironiccoolness I should have said that I believe the song started as a song for Julian but gradually developed into one about John’s newfound love. But maybe he was referring to the divorce for John as well? It’s not like it wasn’t hard for him either, he felt very bad about it.
1. Inner Light and Within You Without You didn’t have any other Beatles than George. They used Indian musicians, so no cultural appropriation. George’s mentor was the most famous Indian Sitar player, Ravi Shankar. 2. John didn’t pass away, he was killed. 3. Across the Universe was a song that really disappointed John and led to him resenting Paul. He thought it was great and just needed more attention and Paul didn’t. Basically Paul treated John the way John treated George.
You’ve reacted to every Beatles album, I was hoping u would at least know their names by now? Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr
I don’t think they have been copystriking people that have been reacting to the whole Now and Then video, so you might be able to upload the whole thing.
I'll tell you about " You Know My Name ". John came in 1 day, says, "guys, i got a song" and proceeded with it." Lets do it a bunch of ways." So, over the course of the next 6 months or so, every once in a while, john would bring it up, and they'd do it in some way. The final recording is a compilation of the "best" takes. It is the B side of their last single.
@@psychedelicpiper999 did you check out the new remix, on the 50th anniversary of the Blue compilation CD? It’s a bit better, on the vocal, but you’re right. The vocals are kind of strange, sonically.

7:33 Yup, Paperback Writer/Rain were Revolver era. They came out a few months ahead of the album.

Lady Madonna is a grower one of the best singles ever

You Know My Name gives me a Monty Python vibe. George Harrison liked them so much he produced their Life of Brian film.
Revolution on this is a much heavier version of Revolution n.1 on the White album, that's why you felt you'd heard it already.
Ironically, the Beatle who wrote and sang Let it Be which you totally love, is the same one who sang Long Tall Sally and Lady Madonna. So you were right you just have a kind of love/hate thing with him (Paul).

Fo shizzle 😅
old brown shoe is incredible ....the bassline alone ....
Jajaja you know my name was a B side. One of my favorite, showing their brit humor. Their is a ska bit that is on Anthology 3.
Keep in mind half of these songs were B-sides from their singles👍

Day tripper is about a working girl, Norwegian wood is about a lesbian and jude was Johns first son to his former wife and ‘she’ is Yoko Ono.
Which song? What’s the New Mary Jane? Or the Free As A Bird/Real Love single from 1994 or Now and Then which came out a few months ago?

Are we going to the LOVE mix album next???
John was married to Yoko when he was murdered
You gotta do the Beatles solo albums especially Plastic Ono Band, Imagine, RAM, Band on the Run, and All things must pass
You’ve reacted to every Beatles album, I was hoping u would at least know their names by now? Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr

Interesting thank you for telling me this people are gonna be surprised with my response on this somg
Jennifer Hudson does a great version of Let it Be
John was married to Yoko till he died
You still need to watch the Sgt Pepper movie too!
You should do the anthology album which the songs that they recorded before they release their first album which is please please me
Why'd you do my boy xxxTentacion like that... Lol great reaction, I'll be sticking around to see what you do next.
Old brown shoe sucks
I used to not like it but it has grown on me. Paul’s Bass line is sick and it does rock, but it’s also a bit awkward, rhythmically.
I like it. ☹️
Great song, but the original mix has the vocals waaaay too low.
