Annie, you’re an OG that’s for sure. Have you ever considered writing a book? Look, this is just an idea for your title. Behind bars to being in front of a charlo board.” I was a teacher in chihuahua for two years. I know what you’re talking about. My heart is in mx and the US. Keep doing yo thang.
Keep up the good work Annie, and your good attitude, teaching is not easy and it’s not something any one can do, it takes skill and it takes a lot of knowledge too. God bless you Annie
It’s a shame that you had to take a break from your profession. Nonetheless you inspire me with your determination to make your way no matter what. Thank you !
Thank you for sharing! I'm considering teaching English in my area. I'm a stay at home mom and when my daughter started going to school I've had parents ask if I can teach their kids english. This has helped a lot to get an idea moving forward what to expect.
I’m heading to Mexico this year… with my grandparents… I’m hoping to become an English teacher privately or through the system… im leaving by choice even though I have daca… I know most people tell me im stupid for choosing to leave the USA. But I’ve came to the conclusion that there’s no point in being here if I can’t leave to see my own home country or any other country for that matter… the good thing is my mother left me a home in Pachuca that I can arrive to… so I won’t be stressed about rent. I wish u the best thanks for this info.
Wow this is awesome and totally understand your point of view. You’ll be good out here maybe even better and yes having a home is huge help. I have a few videos on teaching I hope they help, I wish you all the best!
Love your story. Even though I'm retired i still do substitute teaching all the time and often help newcomers from Mexico and Central America in their classes (en espanol y ingles)
l love your attitude and definitely your humbleness. Eres muy linda tu información es honesta gracias. I do to live in mexico and for foreigners mexico is getting expensive the dollar is dropping , but anyways is steal cheaper then the usa and European countries.
Have you ever thought about teaching nursing? Perhaps, teaching at least the basics of nursing to the middle schoolers or high schoolers. Kind of like how in the USA, in some high schools or/and middle schools they offer intro classes for careers. Like welders, mechanics, nursing, engineering, construction and other.
I had a job offer to teach at a private school in Merida...they offered me $16K mxn per month. I thought it was low, so I didn't take it. Now I regret it hahaha
I am afraid to die in a lonely country in America with no values, I am 34 and white people will always see us like trash it’s a system to never succeed and the values are lost it’s why they are depressed. I rather keep my values and have a little bit than have everything and be miserable and always mislabeled and under estimated for my nationality. God protected you from this life over here material at the end means nothing without health.
HI idalia. I got an offer to teach at a university in Oaxaca. The salary is about $18,000 pesos per month.(Plus benefits).Based on your past experiences...do you think that's a good salary? I have a masters degree in education. I am also a certified teacher. I am trying to decide whether to take that offers, or can I get a better paying job at a private school? Thank you!

Nurses make more money in the US than teachers.

Yes the pay is good! Private schools in my region & experience don't pay close to that so I say take it.
Could you explain how you came across this opportunity? I have a similar education and interested in applying at schools in Mexico but do not know how
Do you get let go or is it your choice to move on
I think it is a choice cause at some point we have to be happy 😊 and move on you know.
