I agree with your point about basketball.
    Not nearly diverse enough.
We should require every NBA team to have a minimum of 1 Asian, 1 Indian, 1 Middle Easterner, 1 Oceanic, 1 Native American, 2 Latinos, 2 African Americans, and 5 Caucasians. That leaves one roster spot open as an option.
That would fairly closely represent American demographics but also with a minimum of one for each major group. Did I forget any?
While we're at it, they should also be required to have a minimum of 7 women and 7 men with 1 spot open for any sex or gender, and also a minimum of 2 LGBTQ.
Also, 2 Muslims, 2 Hindus, 2 Buddhists, 2 Jews, 4 Christians, and 2 atheists with one open roster slot.
Also, a minimum of 7 democrats and 7 republicans.
Finally, a minimum of 4 Gen Z, 4 Millennials, 4 Gen X, and 3 Baby Boomers. For diversity's sake, we'll require at least one member of the coaching staff to be a Baby Boomer.
    That should make it fun.
    Diversity for the Win!

What does inclusivity and diversity mean any longer? I would equal those to my "live and let" philosophy. I don't tell other people how to live and I stay on my own side of the street. But the Left seems to mean anything other than 'live and let live' = make people feel crazy guilt and give them no confession boxes to confess their sins, is more their style.
None of them would be worthy to wash the dishes of the Marx brothers, Bob Hope or Red Skeleton ...
There was a comedian ... I can't think of his name. He was black and one of the funnest men, of any race, I ever heard. He was short and stocky and very very funny - found him!! Flip Wilson!! One of his skits circa 1975, was so funny it became a family favorite with us for decades. I think he was on the Smother's brothers show, but I can't even swear to that. I really wish Bill Cosby had behaved himself. He was always great fun. If they ever create a drug to destroy sarcasm I'll be hiding in my bedroom terrified to come out. Happy New Year Paul!
Sadly I cannot see comedy ever working with the woke culture. Comedy at its roots, involves poking fun at ideas, concepts, and yes people. The great and late Dave Allen, poked fun at his own culture, Irish Catholic. Sure there were those who were offended, but like today, they are in the minority. However, unlike today, those offended didn’t have an international platform (social media) to soapbox upon. Consequently those offended are tallied much higher in numbers than they really are - and impose their views on the rest of us.
    Ok rant over … happy 2023! 😆
