Speedrun play-time based on time between Player being controllable, to the final kill shot on the boss.
This is the original ROM set played in MAME, on Easy Difficulty, with zero speed modifications.
I don't do speed modifications because you're not allowed to submit to tasvideos.org with modified ROM sets or speed adjustments.

Lol. If you elbowed all opponents they all went down with single hits. But this guy was even smarter he elbowed them all off cliffs and into holes. Brilliant

@@KyprosEcand let himself get thrown so the bad guys could step on the dynamite 🧨 and get blown up. Then to activate the boss at the end he gets thrown onto the ledge.
Wow, the memories. Not sure I'd ever seen past level 2.
Also, it's amazing how short games like this and Goldenaxe were.
If you, like me ever ran out of coins and watched the attract mode, then you've definately seen the level 3 forest.😉
That triple knife throw on the level 1 Boss was totally OP!
That knife guy only gives up one knife in level 1. Something is a miss. Different settings perhaps?
@@MrCrazyrob666this is done a computer script. It can do glitches people cannot. TAS = tool assisted speedrun.
That finish after Gunboss died...hilarious! They just said: "We're Outta Here!" , and off they went...

Even today, as post-Final Fight games generally have moves and features that lend themselves more to speed running than older games like this one.
I love the guy who leaps out to his death after the final boss. Like a dolphin jumping out to say hi in the end scene of a movie 6:25

Its cool how he used the Abobo throws and enemy dynamite to get through that area with a ton of tough enemies.

the best strategy that I have seen.
So glad that the forest has all of those super convenient bad guy disposal pits all over the place. They're always such a pain to throw out, but this makes it so easy.

It sort of reminds me of a poorly edited movie, like we were supposed to see more footage that showed exactly where the Hell that dude came from but someone in the cutting room screwed up and all we get is a random shot of some schmo falling out of nowhere.

Unbelievable. I remember spending $3-$5 in quarters to finish this in the 80's.
Some vendors only gave you 1 life per quarter and no bonus life if 20k points were met.

I love how TAS runs allow you to see what is possible in these games.
What's TAS?
@@paco3523 It stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun. They use computers to unput frame by frame exactly what they want their character to do. Some of these inputs are impossible for humans to do but its fun to see the absolute best way to speedrun a game nonetheless.

Also, there's a potential time save at 2:19. If you walk back to the left while going up and down, this alleviates the lag somewhat and make the two mobs come to you faster. Could possibly save about a second or two. :)

Your tactics blow my mind I remember decades ago when stag 3 on the bridge where you fight your clone people had trouble! You don’t even bother.
Arcade magic is something. To finish the game took max. 15 min. But can still playable nowadays

Knocking enemies off ledges, or throwing them off cliffs is so satisfying in this game 😆
When I was a kid, I didn’t think to throw all those different combos.
I was able to beat this sometimes on 50 cents. Damn moving columns at the end stage. Elbows were the key to the game.

Amazing run! What does the tool-assisted help with? Also, how do you get close to the edge of buildings without falling off? Thanks
The tools [MAME emulator] allow me to do things like play the game one frame at a time, and use save states to redo things if mess up.
Additional tools [LUA scripts] allow me to save a full playback movie file while I redo, rerecord over and over.. resulting in the movie you see here.
I also wrote my own tools to display the positions of all characters on screen, as well as other stats like their health. This is how I perfectly line myself up on the edge of a ledge without falling off. I just walk down until a see a certain X-position value [like X/Y coordinates on a graph]
Tool assisted movies like this are basically research projects. They allow you to create theoretically perfect ways to do things [since you rerecord as many times until you get it right].
Then you can use that research to do things better for human [no tool assistance] speed running

At 4:30. Why did you attack the green guy at first? I thought you can save some time here.
Great question. The reason I attack him first is because of how fall mechanics work for adobo.
As long as have about ~20HP or higher, they fall forward. This mechanic makes it impossible for me to knock him backwards off the ledge before I reduce his remaining health.
I have seen a few hit trade glitches where I can make them fall backwards at full health... but I haven't figured out if I can control it yet. If I can... this fight will get MUCH shorter
