This really helps sell the lens for video. The funny thing is how ppl rag on the GH5 for autofocus. There really was only one part of this (2:20 )where it looked like the auto focus was having a tough time tracking....but not enough to take someone out of the moment.
So I'm a little disappointed there is no mention of the model involved in this absolutely excellent video - If its someone you know they are exceptionally comfortable with the camera and do a fantastic job.
If I want to shoot a live music video of myself sitting playing cello, how far must the GH5 with this lens be in order to have me in full frame? Your answer would be much appreciated, and great video by the way!
This is insane, I don't know if this video is so clean and perfect color because of the lens or is it just gh5 , because I have gh5 with speed booster and sigma 35mm 1.4f, and I never got such a quality video.
amazing video, and great skills with the handheld, i probably couldnt pull that off with just lens and IBIS alone. I thought about getting this lens but for 3x to 4x times the price of the 42.5 1.7, I decided to go with the 1.7. Also surprised you used AF on this, there were a few spots where you could see the GH5 struggle but it wasnt terrible and we all know the GH5 struggles in this area. Amazing content man.
Thank you! I really appreciate it. I haven't tried the 42.5 1.7 yet! I actually only use autofocus with the GH5, but never face detection or anything else than 1-point area focus. With AF sensitivity and speed set low I really like it.

did you ever use Extended Tele Converter mode? It's not digital just samples the 4k from the middle of the sensor :D especially good with dual stabilization probably
@@baldr52 Not with a stabilized lens but it seems awesome! My favorite photo mode is the RAW burst modes, apparently you can stitch them together into ultra-fine quality video slo-mo in post too. Also I think 16-255 is better for video compression because it would prevent more artifacts :D
Peter Breivik Thanks Peter.. I ended up buying Nocticron after watching your VDO, and really really love it.. By the way, what AF mode did you use for recording VDO? AF Face detect, or MF? Your VDO focus is excellent..
what's the point of uploading 24 frames a second footage as 59.940? it looks choppy then you can't speed it up without skipping frames if you only have a 60fps display

I have a Canon 50mm 1.4 + Speedboster and the Nocticron 42.5/1.2. It is a must-have for portraits and near-tele.
