Hazardous Dead Ash Tree Husqvarna 385xp

Very dead and decaying ash tree. When I hit one wedge it actually cracked the trunk slightly, to be safe I put a ratchet strap around it to help prevent the trunk from splitting more as I wedges it over. I also took a little more off my hinge to get past that crack and sever those fibers hoping to reduce the chance of having that tree split and create a barber chair scenario.

I have started borecutting ash as a rule of thumb now, lean or no lean as with ash dieback its changing the timber so much and makes it even more unpredictable. Good fell done nicely mate, nice to see someone not rushing around and going smooth!

You are supposed to make undercut first.

If the tree was bigger you would have pinched the bar and it is also way easier to ruin your hinge...
Undercut first, then the horizontal cut and then the final felling-cut
