UPDATE: MAAX performance ran this car a week after this video, Only mod was a modified air intake - 13.55 at 100mph. Impressive.
About time they finally put a decent engine in a dual cab.

@@mclongkock6678 spot on, these are a fully open deck. Garbage for bulk power and torque. There are shops in the states that close the blocks up, but it's big dollars.
Pretty sure these ones are close deck blocks. The us ones are open deck, but the aussie v6's are of a different cast.

I did the air box holes in my triton in 2000 was 3 lt v6 and with the sports exhaust made it go so much better

That’s pretty much stock F6 power at the wheels really, that’s mad can’t wait to see what people do with these tuning wise 👌
At 19 to 20 psi from factory to make as much as stock f6 at the wheels isn't really that impressive. I honestly don't think they can push it much more than that. More psi means more heat. There are limits to turbo charging before you have to run on race fuel or e85. There isn't plentiful of e85 at the pump.
@@mclongkock6678 well it’s a smaller capacity engine so course the boost will be slightly higher that said it carry’s the power all the way through which isn’t bad, an they seem to do pretty well in the states with mods, god only knows what systems are on this to meet emissions an such that may be holding it back also… also it’s putting that power down with 4wd tyres and it’s a lot bigger vehicle
@@mclongkock6678 These engines with the stock turbos and mostly stock for the rest of it in the states have made over 500hp, so that is incorrect haha.
@@Jesse25841 500hp isn't alot more then it's stock form. Also what fuel does it need to make that. E85 isn't widely available here in Australia. U crank the boost up u will run into heat and pre ignite issues. Not saying the engine can't hold the power. Just that everyone think simple to turn the boost up you'll make heaps of power. But turning up the boost has its own issues and it's mainly fuel.
@@schtix392 2023 raptor don't have to be euro emissions 6 yet so not much different to your normal petrol cars. Raptor in Europe has to have ppe( petrol particulate equipment) fitted so over there they are only rated to 300hp. This is the reason why Ford Australia try to rush the new raptor out before 2024.
Wonder why Ford did not fit a supercharger like the 3l V6 in LRs and Jags which gets 250kw Std and around 300 tuned? Twin turbos in Ford engines have had some issues but likely resolved now. This is gonna be lethal power in a Ute! Nice work!
Should have tried the different drive modes like Baja and the different settings for the exhaust to see the differences. That would have been interesting to see.
Yeah it lost about 20kw when not in Baja.
If AID'S had a soundtrack it would be the new Raptor.

Would be nice to have that engine as an option on the pleb ranger fleet. Would be great at the mall where most ranger's spend their time but Would hate to see the economy ( or lack of) when towing a decent load that isn't a jet ski.

That engine is a mess when you pop the bonnet. Of course, it's to be expected with emissions.. But still the number of hoses, vacuum lines and wiring that will degrade over time.
Not even a decorative cover to hide the mess. Reminds me of an old V12 Jaaag.

If you think thats big, come to Texas and look at the standard trucks like the ford f350 duallys lifted on 24in wheels and 44's. This ranger is a baby truck in comparison to most trucks over here, diesel is also like $4.40 a gallon which is high for here.

I was at a Ford dealer in Thailand last week checking out the 2.0 TD Wildtrak 4x4. The driveway price was less than 51k AUD. Whats the sticker price in AUD atm ?.. 80 -90k ?

They are a fair upgrade over the outgoing model. Yes 100k doesn't go as far as it did a few years ago.

2WD less power than 4WD?! Ooookay, Ford has officially broken the laws of drivetrain physics. Was it tyre slip in 2WD causing the lower number Luke?
I am wondering if it has some sort of torque splitter in the transfercase so it doesn't send all the power to the rears. It could be linked with traction control so it doesn't do Tokyo drift mode.
Not sure but it did load up nicer in 4WD. The tyres weren't hanging on very well hence all the rubber.
Hopefully it has the notorious FORD reliability

A decade ago we'd be excited about the latest turbocharged or supercharged I6T or V8 Falcon or Commodore from Ford or Holden. Front engined, tyre trying performance sedans. Now, the oestrogen laden latte sipping soy boys are excited about a commercial dual cab Thai tractor. Jesus H Christ! At least we still have the Europeans producing high performance premium executive sedans!

The full sized raptor should have never gotten this engine
F-150 Raptor has a 3.5TT that makes way more power.
We should have got the USA 3.5V6 instead of the lower spec 3.0L
Ford wouldn't because they cant have the Ranger Raptor being quicker then the F150 Raptor which is the top of the Raptor stack.
Also the 3.0L is based on the older 2.7L it’s a completely different block than the 3.5L. This is the same engine the Explorer ST has and the Bronco Raptor has.
