great advice. I put crown molding in my house on my own and wainscoting and trim in my dining room, up the stairs and upstairs hallway. I absolutely love it. I learned through u-tube. Super reasonable to do it yourself. I'd wished i'd found you earlier. I added all dark hardwood floors in my house 4yrs ago. I absolutely love them, but can see where a medium tone might have been better for longevity. I have the hardest time accessorizing my space finding the right lamps ect.
I love white kitchens what is timeless in terms of installing pulls on shaker cabinets? What sizes? How many sizes? The drawers are different sizes. Help please thankyou
Yes, white kitchens are timeless. I’ve lived in so many homes with different types of kitchens and my favorite ones have always been the white ones. I’m curious about what you think about soapstone countertops in a white kitchen?
I appreciate your suggestion to "choose your paint colors last." However, in my experience, contractors will not go along with that. They want to paint before installing appliances or final touches like window framing, etc. Not sure what the solution is.
The solution is to make those other choices in advance before the contractor is asking you for them. Have a plan for everything at the beginning of the renovation, and choose paint color as the last step of making the plan.
@@margaretl579 it is a classic. But the trend makes me nervous. I will probably have to wait a couple years to do it, so it should become clearer as the trend dies even more.
FYI. There was a time not too long ago where I could not sell a White kitchen here in metro Atlanta! EVERYONE was over the White and wanted wood tone (I fear we are headed back to this tude). I had several high end listings where buyers all complained about the White kitchen cabinets! When White started making a huge comeback I personally was so happy (because I agree with you about White being more timeless choice) but, these buyers man.. they jump on these trends and dismiss anything else! Now all I am hearing is how much they dislike the White again and want Wood (Walnut) to be precise, kitchens. One or two of these internet influencers go "White" is out and they all listen and jump on board.
...The " Stone Fireplace " is something that not everyone might BE ABLE to change, or even WANT to change out ... these are Choices that are unique to the Homeowner, or even if it is a Rental...it might NOT be abke to be changed ,if one is renting. Personally, I like a Stone / Brick/ Fireplace...it doesnt look " generic " ..like the one you are describing in your Video .
What about painting our kitchen cabinets green? 😬 If I get tired of it in a few years we can always re paint them cream, right? 😅 Our new house has kitchen cabinets that HAVE to be painted so I figure might as well do something fun?! No?? 😬💗 Thanks for the amazing content as always!
....glad I'm not the only one who picked up on that ..... ridiculous. I will probably unsubscribe,..it's getting to be too much ,with all the self promoting as well as the " Know- it - All " attitude that is becoming very off putting...and waving her hands everywhere. Just hear to say, you look fabulous, Maria!
Thank you, Maria. BTW, I love those green curtains behind you!
Great ideas! I love a white kitchen. ❤
hi! Fabulous! I don’t see your link on how to create a mood board. Can you link it?
What nice practical tips. Thank you
So much wisdom. Thank you Maria!
Great Suggestions! It’s easier to change the color of your dishes than the paint color of your interior.

I still want a black and white octagon and dot tile floor for my bathrooms even though the trend is over. The trend makes me nervous about it, though.
Isn't that a classic?

Maria always says color is timeless unlike the latest trendy neutral. Like you said, they can always be repainted white or cream.
Painted my oak cabinets hunter green 20 years ago and I still love them! Use whites and a little stained wood for accents. Plan to keep them forever.
There has been a green/grey color that has been in style since the 70’s and older.
Six self-promoting ads in less than 9 minutes. Ugh. It's hard to "hear" what you are saying when you are ever aware you're trying to sell, sell, sell.
