  • Healthier Versions recipes for macronutrient restrictions. I share these recipes because I know what it's like to live with dietary restrictions. Because of this eating lifestyle I have been able to avoid being put on 4 medications, maintain a 17-pound weight loss, maintain a blood pressure range of the mid 120's to the low 130's, as well as maintain an a1c in the low 5's.
    Today's recipe is a two-fer. It's simple, refreshing, and filled with polyphenals. Recipe #1 has a nice amount of proteins because of the yogurt. The Recipes and Healthy Highlights are as follows:
    Fruit Salads #1 & #2
    2 Servings
    Healthy Highlights
    Yogurt: Cals=117.1 SatFat=0.5 Chol=7.5 Sodium=28.5 Carbs=19.3
    Fiber=1.4 Sugar=15.3 Protein=8.2 Net Carbs=17.9
    Whip Cream: Cals=92.1 SatFat=1 Chol=0 Sodium=3.5 Carbs=19.8
    Fiber=1.4 Sugar=13.8 Protein=0.7 Net Carbs=18.4
    Ingredients
    Strawberries (6 med) ½ cup
    Blueberries 20 pcs
    Pineapple Chunks (100% Juice) 8 pcs
    Green Grapes 6 pcs
    Red Grapes 8 pcs
    Yogurt-Protein (Straw-Banana) #1 5.6 oz
    Whipped Cream #2 ¼ cup
    Directions
    Rinse all fruit and pat dry
    Hull and slice strawberries
    Slice all fruit in half except blueberries
    Combine all ingredients into a bowl
    Chill for at least 1 hour
    Enjoy!!!
