    Doink! Tapped that Thumbs Up button, there! I don't own a GTR, and I have no plans of modding GTR headlights anytime soon, but I've done a few retrofits in the past, and I know all too well there is no such thing as extraneous information! Of course I watched it all the way through!
    Awesome stuff, man!

    Been looking into doing this kinda stuff on my own car (unfortunately not a GTR) but this type of vid is perfect for me to learn from, the more detail/info the better!

    Awesome video dude! I'm so used to figuring stuff out for myself, so to find out there's someone who's already got the knowledge and willing to share it is fanatic!
    I'm no newbie when it comes to nodding cars, or installing factory retrofits, but always willing to learn new techniques. So thanks, Chris, and keep up the amazing work (and videos!). 🤘🏻✌🏻👍🏻💣💥

    It's helpful how to pull apart Nissan headlights. I'm building a pair of retrofit for my dad 07 titan and I used a heat gun to pull the aftermarket lights apart and I know by what you mean when the butyl is caked in some areas. I didn't use any tools to pry them just heated them enough where the tabs were easy to pop and grabbed a corner and started pulling till they came apart with ease. Only used the tool just to clean up the exist glue or butyl.

    Probably never going to work on a GTR but always interesting to watch someone at work 👍 are you going to go back to the ghozt programming at some point, been using it and have a few questions 😂

    Hi Chris, great channel, I found you because I want to update the look of my Jaguar XFR headlights. I’ve been told I can’t open them using an oven, but watching your videos you always use an oven. Do you know of any reason why a Jaguar headlight couldn’t be done in this way or is this guy just not in the know?

      a98pmalcolm well my boy, you have unfortunately ruined your lights 😣 no good way of comin back from that one. U less you remove literally 100% of everything that’s in there, and the. Pack in a half roll of Retro Rubber sealant into each housing, you’ll never be rid of the leaks. What year are the lights?

    • @MrDaavee
      @MrDaavee 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Chris does have a gen coupe how to. Watched it back in 2011/12. Its what got me started on the gen coupes lol. Hammered out a good 225-250 of those sets through the years. Heres that video. Now, this is his video for bk1 (2010-2012) headlights. Bk2 (2013+) open the same way, but has more parts inside to pull apart. As with the GTR lights in this video, dont touch clear lens, dont touch chrome unless you are painting. Halo sizes are 80mm on both style lights, but with the bk2, you can run 70mm and have the halo recessed into the projector shroud for a different look. Again, this was the video from Chris that got me started. Many thanks to him, and much respect. Thanks Chris!!

    Whats the best method for the same headlight using the heat gun? Moisture has gotten into mine and there is water marks on the high beam bezel.

    • @flyryde
      @flyryde  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just sitting there for 20 minutes heating each light instead of 7 in the oven. It’s just hard to evenly heat up the seal, and not overheat any areas by staying in one spot for too long, or passing over it too frequently.

    You forgot to say put your phone on silent and put do not disturb on your door because you definitely don't want interruptions while doing something as involved as that and then losing your train of thought and forgetting where you placed little clips and screws
