What a beautiful conversation with melodies rhythm and bass comp. My son loves your playing and has got so much inspiration and improvement from following your teaching performance. You are like a musical gift from God above... Thank you
Very beautiful sounds from that guitar. I like your approach to teaching and would like to learn some standards. Can you share more about lessons you offer, and the guitar?
You are a master of getting amazing and fluid lines out of basic shapes. This is very inspiring stuff. It was also a pleasant surprise to hear you play the nylon string. And of course, thank you for the free lesson !
Tim you are one of my favourite people on this planet and you just happen to be an incredible musician / teacher / educator as well. Health and happiness to you for the next 100 years at least. Cheers from your student here in Australia.
Thanks for the lesson! I really like the tone of a nylon guitar for this type of playing. What combination of woods would you suggest for a nylon guitar?
I would like to share my thoughts because something popped into my head on the occasion of the progression of 251 which is typical in jazz. Currently, I am stylistically unlimited and I listen to all kinds of music :) even that heavy but not heavy metal which is relatively light I mean I listen to heavy metal but I mean something much heavier like DEATH METAL etc :D anyway playing jazz, we have progress and create a solo but playing heavy sounds like death metal we have riffs In my opinion solo for chord progression it's easier than for riffs because when we have a riff (that itself is like a part of solo) how to play solo for "solo"/riff? Where to start learning this topic?
Hi David, I think the guitar is a Yamaha NTX. Tim released a recent (April or May 2022 or thereabouts) TH-cam video reviewing the Yamaha NTX1 and I think perhaps this is it. I hope it is because it sounds lovely, and based on Tim's review I bought one at the weekend, £329 from PMT online in Portsmouth, UK. It really is a lovely playing instrument straight out of the box, both acoustically, or through an acoustic amp.
Tim, as a beginner guitar player who's just learned how to play from beginner tutorials online, would I get much benefit from your Truefire course? Is the content more catered to the intermediate/advanced level, or can someone with a very rudimentary understanding of guitar and music theory gain useful knowledge from your videos?
I think my melodic triads course might be a good thing to check out, watch the preview and see if you seems like it’s do able for you... good luck in your path.
As Tim said the Melodic Triads course is great for beginners. If you know your triads you automatically know 75% of your 7th chords (got that from Mick Goodrick).
Do U remember when U first started jazz. Was it hard. I'm sure it was. So how on earth would U expect any one to pick that up . playing at a thousand miles per hour. O mean really.

@@wolfgang4078 I bought a Cort nylon string about 10 years ago. It`s not my main guitar but it`s held up well & a lot of guitar for $400
That's another very hip lesson. The chromaticism appeal very much to my ear, to borrow your phrase :)

I can't get close to your skill Tim, but it might help me if I owned a nylon strung guitar. Oh bugger....😉
Lost a bit sometimes... Thx

Dear Venzi this is a lesson. In lessons I speak. You can also find a performance of this tune on another video.
@@TimLerchGuitar Thanks for the reply Tim, I will take your advice. I wish you all the best!
