Im surprised i didn’t see Scarface: The Wold is Yours on here. It was such a great game, and took place at the end of the movie as if Tony would have escaped his mansion and lived to rebuild his empire and get revenge instead of dying.
Man, these games take me back to my childhood. All of these games are from the early to mid 2000s. It's crazy to see how many AAA games came out during that era that were tie in games for movies. You'd have to be a kid or alive during this era to know how special it was. The PS2 era was magical Bruh.
@@AESTHETICC. billions and after 2 months its on to the next one. PS2 was the best era for video games. after the PS3 and Xbo360, they games are not as fun anymore. Can't remember the last recent game I got that I wanted. Probably Red Dead 2 or Sekiro for my console
The Matrix Path of Neo, Harry Potter 2 and 3, Batman Begins, Tobey Maguire Spider-Man games, and The Lord of the Rings games (The Two Towers and Return of the King) were those Movie Tie in games I played years ago.
Spider-Man 2 and Return Of The King were my most played games growing up. I never played Path Of Neo but I did play Enter The Matrix and I liked it despite all the negative reviews it got.
I remember getting enter the matrix before reloaded came out and playing it so I could see all the side content that the directors had to supplement the film. It had some pretty cool fights too so I didn't really have the same experience seeing neo fight jet LI as others not playing the game because ghost fights the guy in the game.
In The Path of Neo, the Skyscraper Smith battle feels more climatic than what the original 3rd Movie had. It’s ridiculous, but a better climax and heroic sacrifice, even a better send off for Neo before The Matrix Resurrection (which I personally like).
Yeah, Smith takes over the entirety of the matrix only for the final fight just to be one on one which is a step down when in reloaded neo fought an army of them which was both ridiculous but awesome at the same time in my opinion.
Two Towers and Return of the King are similar enough in mechanics that I can understand being torn at which to choose for the first. But I have personal bias for Two Towers. That game was truly so revolutionary for me. I was no longer just reading or watching my favorite characters, *I was playing as them.* It was incredible at 13. So lucky to have been able to experience the growth of consoles from N64 onwards.
I miss these Movie Tie-In Games. There were so many good ones like Spider-Man 2, The Lord of the Rings 3, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Punisher. They should’ve made more.
Solid list, but may I add Cars The Videogame. Open world, different characters to play with, customization, lots of collectibles, split screen and a story that continues from the movie. Truly a good game.
A remake of King Kong, with greater effects and atmosphere would genuinely make such a good survival horror/adventure/fighting game. For a ps2 movie tie in, that game set levels, some of the environments genuinely still rock me and leave you feeling isolated.
Hear me out: although what I’m about to mention was a TV tie-in, The Sopranos game was actually really solid! It included a great story line and voice acting from the entire cast! It actually felt like watching (and playing) a lost season. Great video btw you inspired me to pick some of these up, thanks!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought this about Path of Neo, I loved enter the matrix game but when path of neo came out I was like this is the best ps2 game for a kid it was a dream to be able to play as Neo
My mom got me the Punisher in 05 right after spider Man 2.I loved the Movie & the Game, the 1st M rated Marvel game, years prior to DeadPool & Wolverine & from the Interrogations to the Atmosphere was Bar none,Gun play was Outstanding for 05,but the Scope Aiming was Janky,But Frank & his Takedowns Made up for that,& it had a crazy Rockstar/Comic look to it that made it Perfect.
Wow this really was my whole childhood. Most were Xmas releases and I was always so hyped to play them Xmas day. You are right… they really don’t make them how they use to !
0:45 10. Batman Begins (2005) 1:53 9. The Punisher (2005) 3:02 8. From Russia with Love (2005) 4:19 7. The Matrix: Path of Neo (2005) 5:31 6. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002)
Just played Batman Begins last month for the first time and it was damn good! You can def tell Rocksteady got a some of its ideas from it and refined them to the next level. Really underrated game and glad to see it getting some love here.
i cant remember if it was the path of neo or the original enter the matrix but one of them had a "hacker" mode where you could use DOS commands to unlock secret stuff in the game it was actually really awesome and i remember it like 20 years later as one of my favorite game mechanics :p
Am happy they made a list of movies tie games because PS1 and the 6th generation console did have a lot of good to great license games before it was becoming shovelware and murder in the 7th generation of console especially for the Wii
Return of the king and King Kong were my favorite games. Love the v-Rex levels and return of the king had the best opening cutscene and 1st level. The transition from movie clip to game cutscenes blew me away back then😂🤣
'Chamber of Secrets was the first PS2 game I purchased. It was a glorious, lush experience, especially for someone who read the novel and watched the movie. The only serious downside was the frequent, extremely long loading screens. It made me dread entering a room in a corridor. If that problem was fixed, the gaming experience would have been extraordinary. I was happy to have owned and played all the games on this list with the exception of the Matrix game. The shortest but most intense experience was with the Kong game. I will forever regret having to sell my PS2 and all the games I amassed. While not the best gaming system by today's standards, the game selection was huge and varied.
Tbh, I was hoping for Shrek the Third video game to be on here because it was one of the times when a movie tie-in video game is so much better than the film.
More good movie PS2 games; The Chronicles of Narnia The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe Shrek 2 Looney Tunes Back in Action Hulk 2003 Star Wars Revenge of the Sith
That peter Jackson king Kong game. Man me and my brother played the crap out of that. I remember thinking it was so cool how it didn't have a hud and you pressed a button to hear jack say how many bullets he had. Before it came out I remember playing it on a demo disc back when you used to get demo disc in a playstation magazine. In the demo though you could call out to a team member and they would toss you an extra magazine for your weapon when you ran out of ammo. But once the game came out they would instead toss you their gun and swap weapons with you.
King Arthur & Eragon may not be the most well known movies/games but IMO they are underrated they are fun beatemup/hack&slash ps2 games that are even better when played in co-up mode
The warriors probably takes my cake. I even bought it on the ps4 store. I never got into matrix or the movies so i cant say if it was good or not. I also like 007 nightfire even tho it was kinda multiple movie missions . It dont beat goldeneye but its still good
Knew about most of these already but cool video, also heard the Constantine game is a good adaptation as well. FYI the Tom Jane punisher movie was 2004 not 2005.
I'm surprised that these games actually hold up visually and mechanically- for the most part. They still look like a good fun time. And the care is noticeable.
Obviously there are a ton more in your other videos plus the ones on this list BUT the warriors will always be my top platinum. Not a lot of games based off a movie are great, but the warriors was so detailed, almost every character/gang had their own designs and voice lines nothing in my opinion will top this game I have a blast with it the best beat em up arcade story in its time.

My Favorite Movie tie in video game is The Matrix Path of Neo. That game made me feel like being Neo, due to his vast abilities.
You forgot scarface the world is yours saw reservoir dogs and the godfather
The Spongebob Squarepants Movie game which I played on Xbox but I know it is the same thing on PS2.
Batman Begins and Spider-Man 2002
My Favourite Tie in game is Harry Potter The Order Of The Phoenix & The Half Blood Prince PS2 games
Im surprised i didn’t see Scarface: The Wold is Yours on here. It was such a great game, and took place at the end of the movie as if Tony would have escaped his mansion and lived to rebuild his empire and get revenge instead of dying.

I’m with you dude warriors was one of the best games period not just in movie tie ins

You'd have to be a kid or alive during this era to know how special it was. The PS2 era was magical Bruh.
True that! Now they need billions to make a game and still dont get that wide as the ps2 era ingame.. they only care about the moneyyy now.

Star Wars Revenge of the Sith was a tie in that I also greatly enjoyed! The ones on the list are awesome though
One of the best star wars games imo
I loved it! Back when you would see clips of the movie in the game before it came out in theaters!
I played it on Xbox. Good game.
just bought it on xbox one through backwards compatibility and it's been so fun and nostalgic to play
Also the 2 player vs mode is pretty fun some may say it's the best star wars dueling game out there
The Matrix Path of Neo, Harry Potter 2 and 3, Batman Begins, Tobey Maguire Spider-Man games, and The Lord of the Rings games (The Two Towers and Return of the King) were those Movie Tie in games I played years ago.
Enough said.
A man of culture.
I remember prisoner of Azkaban being the better harry Potter game
Spider-Man 2 and Return Of The King were my most played games growing up. I never played Path Of Neo but I did play Enter The Matrix and I liked it despite all the negative reviews it got.
The Godfather video games were also very underrated with some really good turf war mechanics.
They were awesome games. The streets of Manhattan and the mob compounds were done so well. Im actually due to replay them.
I had The Godfather game but I just liked driving around and didn't really focus on playing the missions lol
I’ve been trying to figure out where I can play them again aside from getting them on console again
The godfather is better on ps3 and wii. I played the ps2 version after the ps3. The difference is very noticeable.

Path of Neo is definitely one of the best movie games, super complete and with all of Neo's History, in addition to exclusive game levels.

The Godfather for the ps2/3 is also a REALLY good game for the time
The Punisher is an absolutely amazing game.
Great fun playing this and collecting the comics was a cool addition
The punisher gave manhunt competition for brutality. Still a good game.
I remember playing the warriors and Spider-Man 2 as a kid and I thought both games were really good in my opinion.
I remember before and after school I'd play Spider-Man 2 and sometimes I'd go to my friends house after school and we'd play The Warriors

X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Whether you liked the movie or not the game was a pretty fun hack and slash game.
The PS2 version wasn’t as good as the PS3 version. That’s prob why he didn’t mention it.

Spider-Man 2 was so much fun!
I had so many memorable birthdays and Christmases playing some of these games.

I honestly think the Star Wars revenge of the Sith tie in video game should’ve been on this list as well, it makes me sad that it wasn’t
I had a decent time playing the Batman Begins video game, but I preferred the Arkham Batman games more.
