    "Gentlemen! We're here to sell boats." -- I laughed so hard I nearly choked.
    Keep your eyes on the prize, Dan.

      I carry a card from a dealer that was kind to a kid who loved boats. 1991, I rode up on a bike, barely 18 years old. I asked if someone could explain the features and purpose of things on the boats- real customers being the priority, just as you have the time.
      An old man stood and said he would give me the tour, as he had no appointments for a while. Answered questions, showed me things I never knew about, explained the purpose and use of each type of boat they had at the marina. I spent most of the day there, taking a break a few times as customers showed up- but he always came back. That is where I will buy the boat I retire on. I still have that card in my wallet today.

    I love the whole range of Nordhavn. Although I love the 76 to 120 sizes. The smaller vessels amazing. They are as stylish and homely as any of their bigger sisters. Really can't wait to see the 148.

    Excellent discussion ! hope too meet some of you guys soon in Dana Point or Palm Beach if not meanwhile the pandemic storm continues i will incur to your ambassador here in Chile for Q&A. since i am aiming for 64 , hull 2 , 3 or so on , as long as I find a good deal on your listings specially during this though times in lockdown here in Santiago is very entertaining to research your approaches to all new and use models , lithium discussion was great and the mold for the upper deck captains cabin seem to be a challenge to modify to a regular size cabin on new and used vessel .

    Love the boats Nordhavn builds this was a fascinating discussion i hope you do the 86 as well, and the 120 if possible. Im in my 30s now but my first and last yacht will be a Nordhavn. Your brand is second to none and who wants a boat that can't cross an ocean, no offense to other yacht builders. The value you provide is amazing. Thanks for the great discussion I look forward to more.

    I watched a video that basically said the 62 had the least pitch, and was the best as far as fuel consumption and speed, 1 gallon per mile at 9 knots.
    I'd like to get a 62 hull with the performance listed above, but a complete redesign of the interior. what do i need 4 bathrooms for? or a small master cabin?...but maintain nordhavn greatness in the engine room, sea worthiness and redundancy. with all the modern gizmos like a seakeeper, remote control docking and flir....and if my crypto really takes off I'd have riva help with the interior materials (not that nordhavn interiors are bad). riva is just that good. lol
    I seen aquaholic say having a boat much over 60ft is not good in europe as far as docking, and a captain on youtube say you need at least a 60 ft boat to cross the atlantic (I'm sure he was speaking generally)...so a 62 is perfect. (if you don't have a money tree in the backyard)

    Do you still put your yearly magazine and how do you get one ?

    • @danstreech5439
      @danstreech5439 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We don’t produce the magazine any longer. That magazine was born before so much information was available on the internet. Now with the hundreds of videos and owner’s blogs and so much content on the Nordhavn site, the magazine is no longer needed. The old copies can be purchased here: nordhavn.com/merchandise/literature/

    When it comes to designs .... do you prefer large windows to that of tradiitional Porthole windows ..
    And doors so you prefer easy accessible doors to that of the watertight doors normally found on Military Vessels .
    .
    With the chap asking about Capsize tests ... He would be better off going for portholes and watertight doors . if he has a fear of capsizing ..
    Power of the sea should never be overlooked . as there is footage on here [ TH-cam ] of a Porthole on a Liner being smashed in by a Wave i guess that would depend on the type of glass used .
    Glass you use on you're builds is it Toughened safety Glass ?? or is it standard double glazing ..??
    Aprt from that enjoyed listening to that ..

    Is there that much of a disadvantage in having a forward cockpit

    Wish you guys would break these up into shorter segments and release them over a period of time. It's hard to make an hour to digest properly but finding 15 minutes once a week or something is easy.

    Any plans to outfit future boats with a huge bank of Lifepo4's and solar package with elec. propulsion? Oil is on it's way out (more scarce) and the consumables will be going through the roof in the next decade and beyond.

    • @ROACHrrr
      @ROACHrrr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Asim Ayyubi yea, technology definitely does not improve over time. Go check out Strala by British Petroleum and the Energy Web Foundation.

    • @biffjohnson7107
      @biffjohnson7107 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Asim Ayyubi not to mention the massive weight of all of those batteries. 1000’ “solar-powered ship” will be capable of transporting....about.....0 tons of cargo. 🤣

    • @scottdetter
      @scottdetter 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the problem is, there is still not a “Need” for alt energy source the planet stores enough oil for another 1000 years. thus the technology (Solar) is extremely far off. It may be currently fashionable but still far from practical.

    Pricesses,, for the different sizese of boats that yous produce, nautical miles per gallon or gallons, the only things with those batteries when they run to hot, have to test them for long distances, to see what kind of results they will give you in cross Atlantic cruises! Just my opinion, as far as long distance, or even short, something to explore and look in to! Before spending that kind of money on them!
