    Following its successful Wigmore debut in 2017, the Castalian String Quartet went on to receive the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Award and the Merito String Quartet Award/Valentin Erben Prize; tonight’s collaboration includes a recently rediscovered work.

    Thanks for opening up the comments section - finally have a chance to say, what an absolute joy Frühling's Quintet is! Probably one of the most underrated composers I've ever come across - the Clarinet Trio a few weeks earlier was marvelous too.

    Very fine performance, especially the gorgeous slow movement, which I've always adored.

    Beautiful, with the exception of the boring slow mvt, which ive never liked...not the player's fault of course...but the pianist should have played a bit more forcefully...the music can take it, after all this is Brahms
