My grandparents on my father's side were born in Ireland but migrated to the US during the potato famine. We played it and The Parting Glass at his funeral I still cry uncontrollably when I hear it. But I have to listen to it each January on the date of his passing.

Grandpa died 6 years ago and every time I hear this song I cry. I miss him so much he was the father figure in my life. But I know he is always in my heart, memories, and spirit.
