The next episode 2 January 2007 aired on U&Drama yesterday. The way the locals in the pub were gossiping and joking about Pauline being murdered was absolutely disgusting.

Incredible how Sonia and Martin have evolved . Saw them in the 90s ,teens and now the 2000s ,adults and parents I loved Tyana Benjamin as Chelsea but I also like Zaraa,charismatic. I loved also loved the other girls :Carly and Preeti ,I wish they could come back.

The writers should be ashamed of themselves for writing this poor excuse as a send off for Pauline. Why'd they'd had to have the Wicks storyline in this epei don't know. Also Peggy chucking snide remarks here and there and Mo's ill timed 'humour' is disrespectful in itself.
Don't worry, Peggy got her comeuppance when her youngest son didn't bother to show up to her wake, and when her daughter wasn't bothered AT ALL by her death. Sam was actually glad Peggy died.

I was really disappointed with the show in how they handled the funeral of such an iconic character, it’s up there with one of the most unforgivable things that have happened. The absence of Pat is disgraceful her and Pauline, despite a frosty start, grew into close confidantes as the years progressed. Even how they have the characters stick the boot in later in the vic was horrible, the character deserved better than that. As usual Dot makes it all about herself 🙄
Pat was in real life quite poorly and so couldn’t do any filming which is why she isn’t in this scene and several others at that time. Hardly the fault of the producers!
Mark was dead by this point. Michelle and Vicki both lived in America. Vicki was probably terrified to return to Walford after her last visit in the early 2000s with Den Watts and his demise.
I suppose if you wanted to make some sort of reasoning you could argue that Vicki could be wary of returning to Walford so soon after a hit was put on Dennis, resulting in him dying. I don’t think they ever really tied the Johnny Allen thing up properly, even his death was treated like an after thought.
@@gazzyb1079 that wouldn't work since Phil knew that Johnny and Danny moon were both dead. He would definitely have told Sharon, who would have in turn told Vicki. There really was no explanation. The only reasons I can think of is that they were busy, they couldn't afford the flights, or that Michelle selfishly kept away just like she did at her father and brother's funerals.

Wendy Richards would have never left this role obviously we all know now she had cancer at the time rip Wendy 65 was far too young p.s eastenders is rubbish now
She didnt leave the role due to her cancer, she left the role due to how she felt the character been getting portrayed up to this point, as she felt Pauline had become out of character. Pauline was written out in 2006. Wendy (the actress) died in 2009.

Sonia gave Pauline a smack which caused her to hit her head (and honestly that might be why she died, we'll never know for sure), but it was Joe hitting her that we all believe caused her death. Sonia's looking guilty as sin because she knows that she might just be a reason for why Pauline died. Honestly, I still hold her responsible because she didn't even bother to get her medical help after she hit Pauline, despite knowing (as a healthcare professional) that trauma to the head at Pauline's age can cause brain haemorrhages.
I HATED Sonia, even now... her holier than thou attitude, she killed Pauline, stole Dots £30,000 .. and STILL she gets away with it... bloody hate that character
