Yeeeeeaaaaaahhhhh I know i messed up spelling Midas now the whole internet has to tell me lol, Tis the rules 😅
    EDIT
To all the comments saying "how have you never heard of this?" I dont know what to tell you other than: I'm sorry?
I never claimed to have created this method only gave it a cool name and shared it with yall as TODAY nobody talks about anymore or how you can combine it with enchanting and alchemy.
I never really tried to do these kinds of methods in my hundreds of other playthroughs over the years and just discovered it recently myself when messing around so i thought id make a video on my process and i didn't lie when i say that I myself haven't heard of anyone talking about this method as no ones told me about it and ive never personally watched a video mentioning it before.
And im not alone apparently as other people are just discovering this through my short sooooo idk what to tell ya other than thanks for the engagement i suppose 🤷‍♂️

Don't forget silver ore, the step between iron and gold. It's a bit tedious because you have to keep dropping your silver ore to not convert it (unless you have a mod; I don't know if they patched it in the recent rereleases) but more common gems like garnet and amethyst slot into silver, so this lets you level up your smithing, clear your inventory, and make a huge profit.

    • @nicholausstevens1262
      @nicholausstevens1262 ปีที่แล้ว +77

Nah it's still faster to just turn it all to gold and spam regular gold rings. Then slap Fortify Sneak on them to turn the best profit.

    • @clothar23
      @clothar23 ปีที่แล้ว +70

@@nicholausstevens1262Faster but not more profitable though. As an enchanted silver ring with a jewel slotted in sells for more than an enchanted plain gold ring and the jewel separately.

    • @hammertime9183

I generally find turning them into dwarven arrows is far better smithing xp, makes them weightless and good to sell. The only down side is you have to cut wood for ages.
Using the follower infinite carry weight exploit lets you clear entire dwarven ruins for usually 400-500 bars.

Well if you fast travel to cities that are far away from each other, and visit every city that has shops you can sell too, you can make it to where 7 days goes by In-Game by the time you come back to the 1st city.
      Example
      Start in Falkreath
      Then go Winterhold
      Then Whiterun
      Then Morthal
      Then Windhelm
      Then Markarth
      Then Riften
      Then Solitude
      And Back to Falkreath
Where it's been more than 7 days and you don't have to reload or wait for the refresh
Choosing to fast travel to far away cities increases the In-Game time passed after fast traveling. Instead of fast traveling to the next nearest city.

    Some additional tips for this;
Buy iron ore from every blacksmith that you can fast travel to and deposit it in a player home or hand it to a companion until you're out of space.
Equip transmutation in each hand. You can rapidly cast transmutation alternating between left and right hand casting. You'll double the amount of transmutations per session.
Make sure to enchant/buy some gear with increased Magicka so that you can cast more transmutations before running out of Magicka.
Once you run out of Magicka, take a one hour rest. It's much faster than waiting for your Magicka to regen.
Collect gemstones anytime you see them at a general store or when looting. They can be used to smith even more valuable jewelry. Pay attention though, only some can be used in gold jewelry.
Keep a companion and a pet with an inventory by your side. You can stock up on more iron ore & jewelry during the process.
Alteration's "Adept Alteration" perk is a must!

He probably saw me smithing a bunch of iron daggers and thought that was dumb so we started transmuting gold, making jewelry, enchanting that jewelry, then selling it, leveling up multiple skills at once. I leave Helgen, hit EVERY SINGLE IRON MINE on my way to Riverwood then whiterun then north to the coast and west all the way to solitude (solitude is great for earning tons of gold quickly plus proudspire) and when I'm in solitude I'll transfer and Smith all the gold and silver jeweled rings and necklaces, or just straight up regular gold rings because they weigh less. I’ve been doing this for a LONG time. Also, I hunt which increases archery with a soul trap bow, to make leather and get gems. Then make straps at a 2-1 with the leather, and you make bracers (scout leather with C Club items) , enchant and sell for the a Conjuration-smithing-enchanting-speech level. I call the process level swinging as every step causing one thing to go up, then it swings to the next perk and the next. Mix this with your Midias method that I already use and you can power level everything. Alchemy is the hardest to add into this process but I find hunting gives me simple ingredients to spam create shitty potions. On survival mode I take the money loss and just over sell, buy and selling. On regular mode I just fast travel to multiple holds and make bank.

If I could make one change to the spell.
Right handed cast turns iron to silver.
Left handed cast turns silver to gold.
It takes 2 ore to make an ingot. But as it is, the spell turns any silver you have into gold before going for the next iron. Meaning you need to drop the silver ore you have to get a second one transmuted.
Sometimes you need Silver for something.

in any Dwarven/Dwemer ruin, you will find lots of item called "large dwemer plate metal", "small dwemer plate metal", and "bent dwemer scrap metal".
take any of those to a smelter, and you can make them into Dwemer Bars, which you can use to make Dwemer weapons and armor.
but most of those ALSO require iron, so i usually just make lots of Dwemer Arrows.
this also works with "large dwemer strut", "large decorative dwemer strut", and "solid dwemer metal", BUT, those are very heavy, so i usually ignore them.
the "solid metal" has a weight of 25 and only produces 5 bars when smelted...

I do this method all the time but I also add in the No Stone Left Unturned reward so all of the little urns in a ruin have gems in them so your smithing experience way faster and your sales become more profitable using less carry weight the added value from the gemstones lets you strait up buy the soul gems for the enchanting because most mages who sell soul gems also buy enchanted jewelry my pattern is
#1 Buy all iron ore in a town.
#2 Spend all magica transmuting as much to gold as possible.
#3 Repeat steps one and two until carry weight becomes an issue.
#4 Smelt all gold into bars.
#5 Forge all gold into the highest value jewelry possible using gems found from Stones quest perk.
#6 enchant all jewelry with whatever soul gems are on hand
#7 Sell all jewelry to a mage and purchase all soul gems in stock
#8 Fill empty soul gems in a random dungeon looting urns to restock gemstones.
#9 Use profits to purchase alchemy ingredients for enchanting potions (This can often be combined with #7)
    #10 Repeat.

I can jump back in anytime, ready for a new role playing adventure.
But I still dont think Id beeline for this method, rather I think Ill still end up using the good ol' restoration loop.
    Works on console.

I used this when playing my first OP mage back when I still played Skyrim. Man those were the days..

I've used transmute as part of a power-leveling chain too. It's the easiest way to level alteration

I find that Gold Rings are the best thing to craft with this method. For 1 Gold Ingot, you get 150 Septims worth of items and that levels you up faster. Plus, no jewels needed

This has been something I've always done in my mage and misc playthroughs in Skyrim, often avoiding it in my say warrior playthrough just to stick with the character theme.

literally the first thing I do when arriving at White Run for the first time:
Get a little gear, go to the cave which contains the spell, and start transmuting. Easy way to get high level, I once entered white run with level 4 and left with level 20 in a matter of minutes, I just saved iron from before, bought iron from Eorlund and Adrianne, transmuted, made jewelry, enchanted and sold and then I bought new materials which now could be smithed with since I got the necessary levels for two more materials, and then enchanted this new weaponry/armor and sold, and of course kept the ones I was going to use. No exploits involved and I got to level 20 in like 15 minutes

Yup I do this too. It's been a while since I've played Skyrim, but I'm pretty sure you can also get this spell tome for free very early on in the game.

My favorite enchantment to put on jewelry when doing this is water breathing, because it doesnt matter what size soul gem you use, you get the same exact enchantment, thus its just as valuable as if you used a grand gem

Duuuude nice. I've done this on my last few playthroughs. I used to do the typical iron daggers/leather armor route until I found this. I haven't seen anyone else talk about it. Props man 👍

It's a nice idea and I've done it even on my first play of the game. The reality is you will end up with a ton of enchanted jewellery that you cannot sell off because nobody has that much gold to buy it off of you. Still worth doing it for the skills and character XP plus whatever gold you can get.
