I’ve noticed that Clark/Superman was always calm cool and collected . Now after the human heart transplant I feel like not only were his powers affected but also altered him on a emotional / mental level
One of the best fights I've ever seen in a TV show, it felt so real and intense. The camera work and lighting was amazing. It also told a great story of Clark's strength even without his powers.
This episode just reminded me of an issue I’ve kinda always had with the show as a whole, there was no Superman. For a show called Superman and Lois, even going back to season 1, there isn’t a lot of actual Superman. Seriously, if you time it in previous seasons there are SOME episodes where he’s only Superman for maybe 8mins total in the entire episode. I really hate that.
I agree with you. For someone like superman, he rarely goes outside of smallville to save other people. he doesn't seem that busy with the world saving thingy 😂
Yeah, this is why I don't think children are gonna enjoy this show as much as adults would. Sooner or later, a kid is gonna say "Mommy, I'm bored. When is Superman gonna show up?" My Adventures with Superman was a lot better at this.
I’ve never minded that he’s not in the suit for more then maybe 5-10 minutes an episode because this show was always from its first synopsis labeled as a family drama that just Happens to star Superman, it even said the family was the priority, dealing with that & Clark & Lois’s marriage while dealing with the occasional supervillain that required Superman’s assistance, also he’s Superman regardless if he’s wearing glasses or a cape, he doesn’t stop being the man of steel just cause the glasses are on, though I think they’re saving a lot of their budget for the last two episodes so you’re gonna see a lot of him in the suit I’d imagine
@@TheMarine316 Yes, I agree. Not everything that carries the Superman logo will be appropriate for children, otherwise children would flock to things like Superman: Doomsday. Also, I'm aware that lots of corners were cut during the making of this season. Throughout its entire history, The CW has never been profittable and just a few years ago, it ended its licensing agreement with Netflix. That would go a long way in explaining why some of its shows look cheap.
Lex kind of forgot that even without his powers Clark is a 1.83 meter tall buff farmer who's been fighting his whole life💀 It reminded me of that scene from the CW crisis on infinite earths were smallville clark beat his ass😭😭😭
There was a period in the comics where Superman's identity became public (thanks Brian Michael Bendis 😠) but they did later undo it in a way that made sense (thank you Phillip Kennedy Johnson 😃) and actually Lex played a part in it (as did Martian Manhunter). I think they can fix it in the show assuming it has become public. And that fight scene was intense! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect with the outcome of it but it was great!
16:00 wait, is he gonna have henry's suit, or just make a similar one because as we know henry's suit was originally his world lex's suit becuase it kept referring to him as lex, so I think that suit lex always wanted to build and milton built it for him, and we'll have 2 suited steel suits.
Suit AI was referring to him as captain Luthor which was clever misdirection from the writers. They did the same in later season with Bizzaro disguised as Doomsday which now came full circle as Doomsday actually became Doomsday I think he will use Steel's suit and later will paint it purple/green to make it more comic accurate
Lex using Steel's suit is brilliant because 1. It looks more like Lex's power suit than Steel's suit and 2. It was established in season 1 that Steel's suit was made to fight and kill Superman
If you want to read a story where Superman acts like this, read Superman/Doomsday: Hunter-Prey. Superman can get angry but he always does the right thing in the end.
Clark was moments away from delivering a death blow or choking Luthor to death is why Luthor said what he said... that Superman was capable of murdering a human being instead of taking them to justice... is what he thought he was revealing
This season is amazing! I think there could be a little more focus on how Lois is coping with all of this intense stuff happening so fast while still recovering from cancer treatment, it's a hell of a lot to handle, that fight was awesome, and Tyler performance gave me chills.
The Mechanical suit that Lex goes into... is not far off from Season 1's suit where we thought it was the real Lex Luthor, so conceivably our Lex would have built a similar suit and is not actually Steel's suit. And clean shaven Lex finally looks more like an older Lex Luthor in a traditional sense.
Budget cuts, what budget cuts? Yeah, I know it’s noticeable (particularly with the cast cut) but come on-this season has been incredible. The Clark/Lex brawl was freaking cinematic-one of the best (and most cathartic) fight scenes in ANY Superman adaptation. And I LOVE how much more present and important the townsfolk of Smallville are to the overall story this season. So good! And we still have Brainiac (Tom Cavanagh?) to come before we say goodbye to the show for good. Taken as a whole (cast, writing, plot/story, acting, cinematography, direction, music, effects etc.) this is (in my opinion) the best screen adaptation of the Superman story so far. Four more to go. 😢
Amanda is totally in love with Luthor, of course she was gonna come back... she ran his empire for a decade while he was in prison and continued to serve him... and will advise Luthor (because it's the CW)
I know it’s a comic book, but why would Superman be de-powered instantly? He survived Bizarro world’s Red sun for a few days. Similarly, the Bizarrro world characters had their powers under the yellow sun. And those fancy red sun light bulbs would have needed some mega power station supplying juice!
I was hoping to see Clark question how Luther knew about a Red 🌞 affecting him and wonder where the knowledge came from...We will see Milton Fine aka Brainiac at some point, I hope.
Superman will acquire Doomsday's heart via the fortress. While Grandad Superman may be acceptable temporarily, he is not suitable for an entire season. How is he to battle Lex if he can't fly for five minutes without heart palpitations, much less engage physically in combat or use other Kryptonian powers? Doomsday has been absent since episode 5. Doomsday is Superman, possessing a fully enhanced Kryptonian heart. If this development does not occur, the season will falter. After all, the show is titled 'Superman and Lois,' not 'Super Boys and Lois.' Period.
anyone ready for a whole buncha shorts where the Supersons (tm) travel the world with Sarah? btw, did they really hire Elizabeth Henstridge for just one ep?
I would have shut off the show and never watched again if Clark lost that street fight to Lex. Clark is supposed to be a great fighter, even without his powers and I'm very glad he showed some skills in this fight and won.
Unrelated, but what if the Batman or dcu arkham series (if it’s not cancelled) follows a similar story to Arkham shadow with Bruce going undercover and he was the protagonist?
16:10 Don't think he's going to get John Henry suit I think he always had plans for that suit just because on the earth that John Henry's from Luther is the one that made the suit or the AI for the suit or something and that's why the AI said in the first episode of the first season Mr Luther and we were all thinking it was lex luthor because for one he's an lexo suit
I'm just curious, where's Sarah's little sister Sophie? Did anyone notice? She's been around but now gone and Sarah is suddenly the only child Lana has. Is Sophie written off for the rest of the season?
She was in the previous episode (Kyle & Chrissy wedding) wearing identical outfit to Sarah, but has grown in the year off, so is about a foot taller than Sarah.
@@eamoneejit Why Sophie isn't shown being consoled along with Lana and Sarah during the aftermath of Otis' attempt to cancel Lana. I love this show, I just don't like when a character is created just to be disregarded
Agreed. In terms of Jonathan and Jordan, I would like to see the narrative slow down, pause the action like a John Ford film, and see this elegant moment where the boys "embrace destiny" and become heroes in some simple scene like a flood or something. Let's see them encounter the difficulty of making it to save everyone, even as they achieve it, with, perhaps, a nod to Clark. "This is what Dad did every day."

Lex: How have you been during the past 17 years? Elizabeth: Great! I went to the Marvel universe and became one of the Agents of Shield! That was fun! I wanna go back there. You should also be part of my life in the Marvel universe. Choose me, Marvel universe, or the dying CW's DC universe, which will be replaced soon. Your call. Lex: No! I will stay here to fight Superman and Lois. Elizabeth: Well, then I will leave this universe and never be back. Then, Elizabeth to Clark: I know you are Superman, and if you and your family are tired of fighting Lex Luther, feel free to join me to fight Dr. Doom and Sentry in the Marvel universe. Bye! 🤣🤣🤣
Watching everyman Clark Kent beat the crap out of an evil narcissistic billionaire was incredibly cathartic.
I wish it just cut to Batman smirking on a nearby rooftop whilst watching Clark doing his Batman voice to call out Lex
This series need more love.

Doomsday won’t want to live he could give his heart to Clark to finish the job making Clark unkillable
One thing I’m really not liking this season is that it’s the last yet we’ve barley any superman
The fact he isn’t even in this episode at all is insane. There’s no justifying that, not even a single scene even standing in the suit

They definitely channeled Bruce Wayne vibes with Clark in rage mode... impressive what they pull off without relying on Super powers
Clark will need to put that Kryptonian chapstick on and kiss everyone to forget 😂🤣
What is that song that is playing while Luthor is working out ?? lol

Doomsday is likely hanging out in the Fortress. He must have had his own version on Bizzaro Earth.
