Sub pro played well, Charlie Dewhurst excelled in the field, and good to see Ross and Lord playing well together. Thank you, Keith, for uploading the game.
Thank you for the upload, Keith. I saw on the Lancashire League website that this was Tom Lord's final game for Clitheroe and that Peter Dibb will be standing down as captain. Is there an anointed successor (Charlie Dewhurst has stood in this season if I remember correctly) or will it depend on how things pan out? Also - do you know how Sam Mulligan is getting on? It would be good to see him back in CCC colours.
It is true that the Tod game was Tom's last, given the fact that the final game of the season against Church was washed out. I believe he has recently moved to the Manchester area and next season will be playing for Toft (I stand to be corrected) Over the years he's certainly played some fabulous innings for Clitheroe and would go down in my book as the cleanest amateur striker of a cricket ball I've seen. He'll be missed at Clitheroe but not by the oppositions' bowlers. Peter Dibb is standing down as skipper but is still playing, as I understand it. Peter has been a tremendous captain for a number of years. Unfortunately, like a lot of skippers, he under valued his own performance and often batted too low down to given others opportunities. He'll be a difficult act to follow - he was and is very well respected. I am assuming that Charlie will throw his hat into the ring and although a young man has plenty of experience to draw upon but we'll have to wait for the AGM where I assume they still do it via proposers and seconders etc. Not all clubs do. My guess would be if he stood, he would be unopposed.
@@keithfawcett5150thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed response. Dibb at 3 towards the end of last season showed his class. I hope whoever is skipper next year gives him a consistent berth. All the best for the winter.

If that was the last upload of the season, then thanks for all the uploads and winter well
Could you do the odd video in the winter updating us on the changes and comings/goings around the club?

Does the bowler who bowls straight after the rain break chuck it abit? Looks to be abit of a kink in the arm to me. May be wrong.
I don't get involved in "chucking" controversies - far too contentious.
Asian spinner needs to get reported chucking so blatant
A poor standard of cricket. It seems most leagues standards are dropping. Not the same it was 5 years ago
no more licking the road clean either
