Not sure if this stream is still monitored but this video really helped me with my decision on a sound bar. This setup with the A7000, SASW5 and SARS5 paired with a 77 inch A80L looks to be a good combination. My concern, with this and any sound bar for that matter, will it fit my room. I have 19 foot ceilings in a room closed on two sides and open on the other two. The room space measures 18 x 14. How would this compare to a dedicated Onkyo receiver RZ-50, and Kef Q750, Q650, Q150, and 2 up firing speakers and a 12” Paradigm ported subwoofer for a 5.1.2 system? I don’t feel I get that done if sound people talk about.
I have the same setup but instead if the rs5 i have the ra3. Is it a good upgrade to go to the rs5 rear speakers? I jave them hanging from my ceiling and will keep them plugged in?
The SA-SW5s can offer an even wider surround sound stage but you'd really want to get them down closer to ear level and not mounted to the ceiling to hear that. They do require AC power.
I wanted to get this sony system with a tcl 65 inch but now I'm confused whether to get the Samsung s990b or this ht a7000 the two rears and the subwoofer. I just don't know which is which.
Hi Chalton, we're happy to recommend a good match for your needs. How large is your room or listening area? Are there any specific inputs or features you need on the new system? What type of audio outputs does your TV offer? What will you be listening to most often?
Hi, I have a A7000 connected to 65XR90L, when I’m watching movies on Netflix or Apple TV. why I’m only getting Dolby Atmos 48KHz? Is there more I could do to get a better sounds than 48KHz?
The sample rate is set by the content that is being delivered from the Netflix and Apple TV streaming services and cannot be changed or upscaled. Dolby Atmos is available when using Sony's Bravia Core streaming service which is a feature on your 65XR90L TV, you could consider it! Dolby Atmos sample rate is the same, but Bravia Core streams at 80mbps for better sound and picture quality than other streaming apps.
Each of the surround speakers feature a keyhole slot to mount the speakers flat against a wall (screws sold separately). They also have a M5 threaded insert for using with optional articulating wall-mount brackets. @crutchfield nice video-like the info. quick question… with the 7000 bundle, can I add another set of speakers? the bundle has two already, can I add two more-total of 4 RS5s? thank you.
The sound bar is only designed to run one set of wireless surround speakers. It is not possible to run 4 of the surround speakers. That is an excellent idea though! Hopefully, we will one day have sound bars that can pair with two pairs of wireless surround speakers
You're welcome. Too much bass is subjective; but if you're not sure how much you want, going with the beefier sub is best since you can always turn that one down as needed.
Hi. I have the Sony A5000 soundbar alone. The bass is pretty good for me with soundbar alone. But the dialogue clarity and crispness is only average. I tried to lower the bass to min and now the dialogue is crisp but no bass at all. I tried everything in the manual speaker settings, tried increasing the gain to 6db. But no improvement. So I would like know if I add Sa rs5 rear speakers will it improve the dialogue clarity or it just increase the bass and dialogue together? Or if I buy the Sa3 subwoofer and lower the bass on the soundbar to min will it help? Please reply.
Hi Abraham, sorry to hear about the issues with your system. Adding the surrounds won't help much with the dialogue. Hi crutchfield , I have the Hta7000 bar alone. I get no surround sound at all. I would like to add the sw5 subwoofer and the sars3 rear speakers to try and get some surround sound . Am I just wasting my money ? What do you think I would gain if anything? Please reply !!!
The openness of the side walls is most likely causing you to not hear the surround sound audio. Adding surround speakers behind the seating area, like the SA-RS3S, will greatly help correct that issue. They can be found here: www.crutchfield.com/I-rYALc227/p_158SARS3S/item.html Adding the sub for better bass presence isn't a bad idea either!
Hi Crutchfield I have added the sw5 and the rs3s to my a7000 I am sorry to say I am still disappointed. One thing I did notice is even when I am listening to a Dolby atmos movie when I press display I get LPCM which doesn’t seem correct? The rear speakers at max are very low in volume the subwoofer sounds great. I don’t know what else I can do.
Sorry to hear that, Ronald. You may want to keep tweaking things for a bit longer and if you got them here, be sure to call our Tech Support as well. Their direct number is on your invoice. From there, if you still feel you want to move to something more substantial for the open space, let us know. We'll be glad to look at other options with you.
What is the height of the sub woofers? I was told by one technician that the Bluetooth signals being powerful would interfere with the functioning of other electronic equipments present in the house. Is this a correct statement?
The SA-SW3 is 15-1/16" tall and the SA-SW5 is 16-1/8" tall. These subwoofers connect to a soundbar or receiver using 5.0 GHz RF. Most, if not all, gear that uses this same type of signal can channel hop until it finds an unused band and so should not cause issues with other gear.
My set up is the HT-A7000 + SASW5 and SARS5, but I always have to manually turn on the rear speakers manually when I want to use them. Is there a way to have them all turn on ones I turn on the HT-A7000? Thanks in advance for your help

The Sony HT-A7000 will support a huge variety of sources. Were you wanting to connect from a wired output on your laptop? If so, what type of audio outputs does it offer?
The USB port on the Sony will not work with a computer. Of the other three connection methods, the HDMI connection will give the best audio. It is the one we recommend you use to connect your computer

If you purchased your gear from us, we recommend contacting our technical support for the help. We include their toll free phone number on the order invoice.
Hi I’m planning to buy the whole system at once. The TV and sound bar system. I’m really stuck and confused between my choices. The TVS I’m looking at is LG C2 vs Sony A80k. I do lot of gaming plus movies and Netflix . And the sound systems are HT A7000 , HT A9 and Q990B. I never had a premium TV or sound system. This is my 1st purchase. What would you think the best and the future proof system? And I don’t have the perfect home cinema room. It’s quite dark the surrounding and lot of opening for other rooms. Can you help me please? Thank you so much. 🙏 Because people are saying Q990B is the best for value and C2 is the overall best TV. But is it okay to pair LG and Samsung ? Sorry for the long message. Thank you in advance.
It is ok to mix TV and soundbar brands! HDMI helps make it seemless and both of those products support HDMI eARC. This means that not only can they be connected together, but they will also allow you to hear the best possible audio format from the source being played!
The SA-RS5 speakers are only able to output the surround sound audio. They are not able to pay the front channel audio. You may want to consider getting the sound bar without the surround speakers.
Hello Im using the A7000 + the rear speakers RS5 on my setup. Unfortunately i dont hear the sound of the rs5 rear speakers quite loud (volume of rears is max and i tried with plug or battery mode). Distance is only 1meter left and right from my position and the speakers are on ear level behind the couch. How can i get the rears louder and more surround. So want to know your settings from the sound menue
Here's some good tips from Sony directly regarding this issue: www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00274538 If you got the speakers here, you can call our Tech Support as well. Their direct number is on your invoice.
After the Sony soundbar and the Sony rear speakers are connected, can the sound volume level on the rear speaker be changed without changing the sound level of the soundbar? In other words, can the sound level of the rear speakers be adjusted individually and independently? Also, can the soundbar remote control be used to turn ON/OFF the soundbar and the rear speakers simultaneously? Thank you!
Since you have used the rear speaker level control and are not able to get the levels you want, the only way to increase their levels is to move the speakers closer to the sitting area. How far away are the speakers from the seating area? How close could they be moved to the seating area?
@@crutchfield I have a feeling that I am just not knowledgeable about sound systems and such. Is it true that the large majority of the time tv programs or movies are dialogue based and hence the sound should only come from the tv and sound bar from the front, and the rear speakers should be quiet or even silent? Aren’t the rear speakers meant for scenes where sound have to come from the sides or over the head, like a fighter jet flying overhead? I could had been overreacting about the lack of the rear speakers volume…
@Aberdeenshire915 yes the rear speakers should mainly play sounds behind the scene. For example if you are playing a race car game and you pass a car , that car you passed sound will then be mainly from the rear speakers as the vehicle is now behind you
Will the A7000 allow me to play the RS5 speaker like front speakers (where the sound is loud) and not use them as surround sound speakers? Basically can I control the volume on the RS5 speakers? I want to use this system for watching games and place one RS5 Speaker in my kitchen and another in the dining room. Can you add 4 RS5 speakers to the A7000?
There is no way to make the RS5 speakers play front channel audio. They will only receive rear channel audio. There is a way to adjust the volume level of those speakers to help blend it better for the positioning in the room. Also, only one set of RS5 speakers can be paired to the bar.
Rate the sound system quality with a sony tv out of 10 vs non sony TV pls. i wanna know if the sound is that much of a difference for me to get the a80k vs LG g2
It is difficult to give a number rating because everyone seeks a different sound experience. We can safely say that what ever rating would be given to the bar for your personal preferences when connected to any TV, it would be a higher number when used with a 2021 and up Sony Bravia XR TV that has their Acoustic Center Sync technology because this type of Sony TV can use its internal speakers along with the soundbar's speakers together so that you'll hear dialog from exactly where the character is standing in the scene.
@@crutchfield I appreciate the reply. My girlfriend wants the sony A80k tv for movies/tv show while I want LG G2 for Xbox series x full support. But she didn't want to sacrifice the sound quality if it isn't as good on LG. So thanks for your insight
@kandoundou23 I ended up getting the LG G2 . The sound is great . However I wasn't able to replicate the sound quality I heard at the best buy store demo when they used the speakers with a Sony TV. The only time I was able to do so was when I played a mission impossible dead reckoning ultra 4k blu-ray disc , which as you probably know but i didnt know at the time, has a higher quality and larger audio and video file compared to streaming versions of TV and movies . I later learned that best buy only plays these types of higher quality movie and audio files in demos. The only other time I encounter that sound quality is if I am streaming content on Netflix which has "spatial audio feature" such the tv show : "Wednesday " and "Beef"
@@crutchfieldI have a Sony a95L and it only has 2 hdmi 2.1 with one for the earc. So don’t the tv have to have more 2.1 or will I have to use the regular hdmi ports that’s are not 2.1?
It sounded like from your previous messages you are trying to connect two 2.1 devices, X Box Series X and Panasonic 4k UHD player. You will connect both to the Sony Soundbar's inputs, you would not need to connect any gear to any additional 2.1 HDMI ports on the TV with your current plans.
I got a Sony xr-55a80k and a Sony ht-a7000 soundbar, but when I try to use acoustic center sync, it creates a static white noise that's really annoying and won't go away. I've tried everything I can to fix it, but nothing helps. I'm super disappointed with that and might return it to the distributor.

@@crutchfieldQuick question. I have the exact setup with the A7000, SA-SW5, and SA-RS5 that I purchased last month. Now I’m about to replace my Sony X90H, but I’m deciding between the LG G3 and the Sony A80L 65-inch. My question is, does the Acoustic Center Sync improve the audio enough for me to stick with Sony, or would it not make a significant difference, allowing me to go with the LG G3? What do you recommend?
The optical digital input supports Dolby Digital (5.1ch), DTS (5.1ch), and PCM (2ch) audio signals. You would have to check your TV to verify what it can output via optical.
Congrats on your new TV! What brand/model is it? What other sources will you be using? Are there any specific features or inputs you need on the new sound bar? How large is your room or listening area?
Was all in. Bought the A7000 to go w my A95K and PS5. Liked it! Died on day 5. Didnt matter what source I used. Bluetooth, Chromecast, HDMI ARC, dead silent. It went back. Oh well! BTW plugging in the screen speakers did reduce audio clarity. I thought the bass response of the bar was adequate without the add on sub or rears. The design is handsome but mine was unreliable. YMMV. Regards!
Nothing at the moment. I have a very nice Samsung 2.1 system that sounds great that works for now. My wife wasnt at all excited w the Sony A7000, and when it failed she reminded me that the system I have costs nothing extra to get us a fair enough audio experiemce that SHE is happy with. FWIW that Samsung is MUCH louder than the Sony, and she doesnt enjoy loud program material as her hearing extends all the way up to 18k, where mine dies at 13k.

Have an A80J and looking at the A7000 vs the A9 with SW5 and RS5 in both cases. Have a large open space - about 20'x30' with 10' ceiling. The TV and soundbar would be in the front corner, next to a fireplace. Can both of these systems produce enough volume to fill the space with immersive sound? Either better than the other. Mainly listen to TV shows or music, especially youtube. Any reason to favor one over the other? Thanks.
Hi Sara, sounds like a great space! Both systems offer top notch sound. It will really come down to placement. If you go with the HT-A9 setup, how would you place the 4 speakers in relation to your seating area?
Hi Stephen, both model offers top notch surround sound. The best match will depend on your room size, listening preferences, and sources/inputs you plan to use. What is your exact setup? Are there any specific features or inputs you need?
@@crutchfield hi. My room is 12ft wide by 16ft long and 9ft to ceiling. 1 side slightly open. I will be streaming movies, Netflix etc. Although I do like music. I plan to subscribe to Spotify for hires music. That sort of stuff. I was going to use the a84j with either if it makes a difference
Thanks! That helps! Based on the information on Sony's UK site on that model, both will work with the gear. The room and the 1 side being slightly open does make us lean more towards the Sony A9 system. The speakers do not reply on the side walls as much as the soundbar in the A7000 system does which will help. The A9 can even work with the TV's speakers for a center speaker
We are happy to help recommend which of those three you should get and have a few questions to get started: What are the dimensions of your room including the ceiling height? Which TV will the sound system be connected to? Are you replacing a different sound bar or theater system? If you are, which brand and model is it? What changes are you hoping to make to the sound you get now?

I would say they only make some low noise when some one runs in the back or helicopter turn behind you. It can be a little bit louder from my personal taste. So want to know your settings from the sound menue
Here's some good tips from Sony directly regarding this issue: www.sony.com/electronics/support/articles/00274538

Thank you!
Power and independent volume control of the subwoofer and surrounds is controlled via the included remote.
@@crutchfield Thanks.
However, I used the sound bar remote to raise the rear speakers volume to MAX, and the volume is still very low.
@@crutchfield thank you 🙏🏽
You're welcome.
Will this Sony surround sound connect with an LG TV??
Hi Emil. What model LG TV are you planning to use?
You're welcome! Let us know when we can help again
What did you end up getting? I have the same dilemma right now between the A80L and LG G3. Is the Acoustic Centre Sync that much better that?
Can i connect this sound bar to my Xbox series X and a Panasonic 4K blue ray player using 2.1
You can connect those devices to this soundbar. It even supports the 4K/120Hz output of the xBox Series X consoles
@@crutchfieldI mean is there 3 ports total one for the earc port and 2 more for the Xbox series x and Panasonic 4K blu ray player?
Yep! That's exactly what it means!!! Also, that is the exact number of HDMI connections on this sound bar.
The gear you have supports the TV Center Speaker Mode ability. It may be worth checking with technical support before returning it. If you purchased your gear from us, you can contact our technical support for this troubleshooting help. We include their toll free phone number on the order invoice
If you use optical what do you lose feature wise?
The optical digital input supports Dolby Digital (5.1ch), DTS (5.1ch), and PCM (2ch) audio signals. You would have to check your TV to verify what it can output via optical.
How would it do with 12’ ceilings?
It should work very well in a room with 12' ceilings. 🙂
nice 👍🏻
Sony A7000 with 300w subwoofer or Bose Smart Ultra soundbar with 700 module 🤔 To go with my new 4k 65 inch TV?
Congrats on your new TV! What brand/model is it? What other sources will you be using? Are there any specific features or inputs you need on the new sound bar? How large is your room or listening area?
This or the Samsung Q990b?
HI Frank, both excellent choices. What model TV are you using? Are there any specific features or inputs you need?
@@crutchfield same question and I have the sony 85 h90
500 watts in the bar itself?!? Wow, thats sounds almost unbelievable. I migh tbuy it to put it in my car, LOL.
YMMV. Regards!
Sorry to hear that Timothy! What did you end up using to replace it?
Nothing at the moment. I have a very nice Samsung 2.1 system that sounds great that works for now. My wife wasnt at all excited w the Sony A7000, and when it failed she reminded me that the system I have costs nothing extra to get us a fair enough audio experiemce that SHE is happy with. FWIW that Samsung is MUCH louder than the Sony, and she doesnt enjoy loud program material as her hearing extends all the way up to 18k, where mine dies at 13k.
Sounds like you're set then for now. If/when you do opt to replace the Samsung, please reach out if we can help you choose another option.

@@crutchfield thanks
what's this system total watt power ?
The smaller surround speaker system has a total of 900 watts. The system with the bigger surround speakers has a total power of 980 watts.
Can you connect multiple subwoofers to the system?
Only one SA-SW5 wireless powered sub can be connected to the Sony HT-A7000 or HT-A5000 soundbars or HT-A9 system.
@@crutchfield is there any other way to connect 2 subwoofers
Only one sub can be connected.
Thank you so much
You're welcome!
Have you compared with newer a9. I'm torn which way to go. I have a bravia a84j which has acoustic sync but not master series. Appreciate thoughts
I also watch my sky box. I don't play games but my son may. That's not so important though
Thanks!
@@crutchfield great thanks for your help. Much appreciated buddy
Q990b vs ht a9 vs ht a 7000?
We are happy to help recommend which of those three you should get and have a few questions to get started:
What are the dimensions of your room including the ceiling height?
Which TV will the sound system be connected to?
Are you replacing a different sound bar or theater system? If you are, which brand and model is it?
What changes are you hoping to make to the sound you get now?
Traditional dvd player with all 5 channels and a subwoofer is far better than these modern soundbars, they are not even close to old 5.1 home theatres with dvd built in s- master digital amplifier.
