I don't want the computer screen or backup cam. Will a tape deck fit in this slot? Obviously, I would need to make some adjustments with the moulding, but nothing 3D printing can't do.

If your looking at the back of the head unit it's the plug all the way on the left. That's what I'm doing right now, adding amp and sub

It’s completely different for removing the panels but once you get to the actual unit behind the panels, they’re pretty similar

Woupd have been nice if you put everything back in place without the head unit so we could see what the dash looks like without goofy screen being in way of seeing rhw road. I am looking to replace mine with regular radio, no video screen. I look at computer screens enough all day at work.
Hate to break it to you but your most likely not going to be able to. Part of the reason cars have large screen radios is the law requiring backup cameras in every car. You would have to get a custom bracket made to cover up the space and then find someone who makes a single DIN stereo, which very few still do, due to change in technology and the lack of demand because of it. I have a 2020 Corolla myself so I get how it feels out of place, but I guess it is what it is. Good luck.

I would double check the part number for a Japanese-spec unit and see if it’s the same as a North American-spec one. I wouldn’t risk getting anything even slightly different because of how expensive the unit is. Not worth the risk

Supposedly Metra makes a kit for single or double DIN so google that.

Did you ever find out? Usually if you can't find it just connect it to usually the brown wire if there's a brown wire that's usually the break from my experience

Get to the wiring? Some people want to upgrade the audio system or if there is a problem with the deck or any HVAC controls out of warranty this will be good to know for DIY.
Is this a single or double sun radio ?
Neither. The vid is just showing how to remove the factory deck which is just a flat screen. Metra does make a kit for this Corolla application but I have not installed one yet to verify how well it works.
where is the memory card/ how do you upgrade the maps?
it has no memory card, you go to toyota site (depends from where you live) download the maps update on a usb stick than you can upgrade (watch youtube videos)

Does anybody know how to install vehicle in motion bypass? Just trying to search for music, watch videos, or album arts while driving....
Not sure but you can check with NAVTV as they are good with this stuff. Other option to experiment is clip the VSS wire off the deck and hope. Granted the deck won't know the car is moving that could mess with other ish.

Is is possible to install a JVC Single din head unit, since the OEM head unit is integrated into the dashboard. Whoever came up with the idea of mounting the radio on top of the dash, while blocking the lower portion of the windshield is stupid. 2 door cars coupes, will usually have the head unit installed above the center console below the dash, which is way better for swapping out the OEM head unit for an Aftermarket single din or double din. This design with the factory radio above the dashboard makes it impossible to install a single din, unless there's a kit you can buy.
So HOW do yo prevent someone to do that without permission 😅?
Ok… so, I just have to replace the climate control panel… it’s just that easy to remove the head unit & climate control panels?? Just a bit of force & they should unclip?? I don’t wanna break anything…
