IT's A SOOTHING SAAVERI ALL THE WAY! EXCELLENT EXPLORATION of SAAVERI as she went too deep searching every nook & corner of the Raagam and brought out pearls all around. Brilliantly matched by Vittal Rangan's Violin. It appeared their thirst never seemed to be over as all the Three kept on tasting the nectar of the Raagam seamlessly through magnificent Neravals & breath taking Swaras too. Kudos to all Three! A few lines from Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam sung in the Virutham Mode in Sahana & Sindhu Bhairavi as a Prelude to Venkataachala Nilayam was fantastic and a new experience to me; Vittal's version of Sahaanaa and Akshay's striking percussion score were quite attractive, adding more colour to the Vocalists' rendition. Akshay's Mridangam and Papanasam Sethuraman's Kanjeera support and their Thani Aavardhanams were lively. Excellent Essay of Vachaspati - both Aalaabanaa & Kalpana Swaras were too good. Especially, that gradual pitch progression during the Aalaabanaa! Here again, Violinist Vittal Rangan showed his class bringing out the Beauty of Vachaspati in ample measure. And, following that relaxed rendition of a lovely Maanji, it's a short spell of sweet drizzle in the form of Vasantha thru Dikshitar's Ramachandram Bhavayami. Splendid Saveri Alapana is highly soothing both from the singer and the violinist Azhuththamana vasippu to bring out the real structure of the raga Again not frequently heard song ,but brilliant composition
Kalpanadwaram in Vachaspathi is well handled by the trio,especially final phrases are too good Another beauty of the sisters is to include some hitherto unheard songs ,specifically Uththukkadu Venkata Kavi songs This is the noteworthy service they are doing to bring out hidden gems in Sangeetha Rathnakara Really praiseworthy
Sethuraman This young duo never disappoints! Very commendable crisp performance. The accompanying stalwarts gave able support. Sethuraman exhibited quite an unusual pleasant touch with the Kanjira! GOD BLESS ALL
Tiruppavai Tirupugaj!! Duo singers with complémentary voices suitable for a high quality katcheree!!! Bravo ! Shabash ! Violin & Mridangam artists are very good!!!
First time hearing a Tiruppavai as a opening song of a concert Good Vachaspathi could be recognized from the first note itself This shows the mastery of their music knowledge The initial songs augur an excellent concert
An excellent recital from the vocalists and all the three accompanists. Of course, Saveri with the memorable krithi on Kamakshi is the jewell in the crown.I am never satiated with Venkatesa ....in SindhuBhairavi from Sh purandaraDasa but the sisters have sung it with added sweetness. Incidentally, to which musical school do they belong? Thanks for anyone to answer!
