    Can’t thank you enough for for recording and sharing the COMPLETE process this is exactly what those of us who are contemplating a 1st bow build need to see. The quality of your videos was good and very detailed. video #10 was a great summary. I’m sure I’ll be referring to each segment multiple times. By the way, your bow looks fantastic 👍🏻

      Thanks so much Dale! I am glad you are getting good use out of these videos. If you are thinking about it - go for it - it is a very rewarding project. TradGang is a great resource if you run into any problems. Those guys are a great help over there too.

    Thanks so much for posting all of your videos. I'm in the exact same boat as you. I've had all the videos and equipment for a couple years, but due to life circumstances didn't have the time to build a bow yet. I'm just about ready to get started now and it was really great to see you work step by step. I'll be incredibly happy if my first attempt comes out as good as yours. Great bow!!! Thanks again for sharing!

    Thanks for making this series of videos. I also bought a kit, then put it away for years. Recently had the time and the space, couldn't find the instructions. Now I can use your videos as my instruction set. Woot. Job well done.;

    I started building bows at a time when I was struggling financially and HAD to use only hand tools because I didn't have a choice! Haha but I agree with you, if I could only choose three power tools to save time making laminated bows I would pick a band saw, belt sander and an electric planner. After that I'd pick a rotary (not the oscillating) Dremel. Their great for saving time with all the finishing work. Awesome series man. Thanks for making this - Obediah

      Thanks for the comments Obediah. Yea I give credit to all those that do it with hand tools. It takes a different skill level for sure! That's awesome for sure.

    Man I’m so glad you took the time bought the kit and made this video series! I’ve really been interested on how and where to start making laminated bows! I’m possibly shooting for the longbow design! I was told by a friend that makes take down recurves to get the Bingham kits but wasn’t sure how well it would teach me but you’ve answer all my questions! And the wood your speaking of is pronounced coca bowla, I know that’s not how it’s spelled just breaking it down to maybe help pronounce it! I know bc my stalker recurve has that wood! Again man really thanks for this I needed the whole series

      Passionate Outdoors - This is something I wanted to do since I was a kid. I have looked at their catalog for literally decades before doing this. I am hoping to start a one piece recurve soon. Thanks for the pronunciation! It is a fun project and very doable. Good luck to you on your future project.

      Yea man it's a really cool project. I too wanted to do this for years. I think I am going to ask for the material to make a 1 piece recurve for Christmas so hopefully be starting another one soon. I still can't believe how well the project turned out. I shoot about every day. My goal is to be ready to harvest a deer with it next year.

      @@BooneDownSouth Very cool. Your build turned out incredible. Your patience and woodworking skills are much better than mine. I am probably going to start with a one piece longbow and work my way up to more difficult builds.

    Congrats on finishing your bow! Looks fantastic from here. Also looks like a fair bit of work but the next one will be much easier like you said.
    I'm interested in the arrow speed. You also have to film yourself shooting a deer with this thing. I mean c'mon man you're leaving us hanging here! Lol

      @BooneDownSouth  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks I appreciate it. I am really happy with it. It did take a fair bit of work, but it becomes all worth it when it is completed. As far as shooting a deer with - I don't think it is going to happen this year as I am not proficient enough with it yet to try that. I plan on training all year and being ready to take a deer with it next year though. That's my master plan anyway!

    Beautiful bow...plan on building one with a chuck of walnut for the riser, i plan on getting limbs from bingham. what wood is the outer layer of your limbs? they are gorgeous!

    • @BooneDownSouth
      @BooneDownSouth  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you Josh. The wood used on the outer layer is Bocote. It is some really nice grain to it. I'm really happy how that bow finished out.
