Thanks for the look! A ball joint at the head and some ankle rockers would really elevate these, and wouldn't cost Jakks any more so hopefully that's something they can work into future figures. I am left wishing they charged a little more and painted them up to give them a more flat, cartoon, appearance. Another expression for Homer that better matches his accessory would have been awesome too. I also don't think Bart scales very well with the adults, but Jakks is doing a subline of smaller figures so maybe the kids from that will actually work better? For 12.99 though, you really can't be upset with this first effort.
Agreed! Some form of alternative heads would have taken them to the next level but I’m still happy with them in general. Thx for watching 👍🙏
For the price, they are amazing. Another great line to go along with the Super Mario, Sonic and Nintendo lines.

Why do some Simpsons characters always get soulless expressions it really bugs me with Bart and Homer here.
Yes agreed Bart’s facial expression stuck out to me in particular as well

The whole family is out during Wave 1 in 2.5 inch scale bundle box. Homer, Bart and Lisa also have different dedicated 2.5 inch scale figures in Wave 1, along with Wiggum and Flanders. You’ve got all of the Wave 1 5 inch scale figures - Marge (with Maggie) and Lisa dedicated 5 inch scale are coming in Wave 2 or 3. They’re already listed on Amazon.

They hit 4 Kmarts in Newcastle NSW Australia on Wednesday and were all sold out by the next day in all 4 stores! Obviously very popular here. It's kind of funny because no one buys the Star Wars or Anime Heroes figures but these sold out in one day! Guess Kmart could've made a lot of money if they ordered more than 2 full sets in each store. I hope they're going to get another shipment as I only got Homer and Otto, I still need Bart and Groundskeeper Willie! I also got the smaller Simpson's family set and an extra Bart but I had planned to get a Lounge Room Diorama today (Friday) but they were all gone too... Kmart Australia PLEASE ORDER MORE! They were gone too quick! Keeping my fingers crossed that our Target or BigW will get them too!

These look great! Bart should be an inch smaller but these seem to be close in size to Playmates. Ankle rocker/hinge and better hip range would help a lot.

Thanks for the review! I live in Los Angeles, waiting for my targets to get these. Your deep look at it helped me decide; I’m only gonna get the family. I collected almost all of the Playmates World of Springfield figures (I even unboxed & reviewed the Christmas Family set last year) but now they just sit in a box in storage.

With that facial expression, Willie looks to be the highlight of this wave. Very cool that you found these early. I am considering the house dio and main family too! Fun stuff.

I just found all the new Simpson stuff at target, but all the solo figures were two Homer simpsons, one bart, and one otto, seems like that's what the case was. Plus they had the living room set and the multi-pack including all price tags on the shelf but unfortunately when I went to the register to ring it up it said it was Street dated and management will not let me buy them
So you found all of them or not all of them? Sounds like they didn't have Willie. Yesterday I found 2 Bart's, 2 Homer's, and 1 Otto...so nothing else unfortunately. Apparently that's how the cases are (as I described), with the addition of 1 Willie. Then again, Target gets in some mighty strange cases. Like they had a slew of Astonishing X-Men Wolverines, but that was it from that wave.

My aunt lives in Pennsylvania. It doesn’t surprise me Pennsylvania loves the Simpsons as a kid Kennywood always had Simpsons plushy to win and every claw machine and every restaurant or Walmart. I went to always had Simpson figures inside.

So I saw the announcement not too long ago with the picture of the family sitting on the couch...but apparently I thought they were gonna be more like the World of Springfield figures. With all the articulation, these things fuckin' awesome! And same here, they weren't on my radar, wasn't looking for them, then low-and-behold...all except for Groundskeeper Willie.
My only nitpicks would be wanting another pair of interchangeable hands, and a few more accessories like Bart's slingshot. Not even too bothered with no additional heads. Here's hoping they'll make more expressions that you can swap out. And the packaging indeed is very impressive for what these are.
Anyone know when these are out in the UK? And where might sell them.
Wow first Playmates gets me with the OG Sketch Turts and now Jakks gets me with the Simps. Who would of thought that these 2 companies would be getting my Collectors money in 2024, not me.

These look great for what they are my only gripe would be the stuff printed on the back surely doesn't need to be there , not enough to put me off though
Good call! That threw me off as well. I feel like a company stamp/year on the foot is more common so it doesn’t distract from the figure

Hey Dan thx for watching! I know you’re a big WoS fan so was curious of your thoughts on these! My buddy has darn near every one of the WoS as well but he lives an hour away so I couldn’t steal any to compare. This line def has a strong fun factor and I’ll be curious to see where the lines heads to in future waves. The $12.99 PP definitely keeps it affordable to hop in early and give them a try. Just look at what Jakks did right from the get-go. Made the (only one brain cell required) decision to give us main characters in their default looks right from the start. Between Flynn saying _'nahhh'_ to that, them being in a huge scale, can't get them in stores, and that $55 price 😬. Jakks Pacific saves the day!
Is the Simpson Jakks better than Playmates?
That’s a tough question. I know articulation is better. Paint/sculpt I’d say about equal. Playmates gets the current nod due to the play sets and vastness of the line but give Jaks time they could catch up

Good point lots of empty space
For uniformity with having all the boxes the same size. So when we get big characters like Kang and Kodos, they can still fit 'em in the same sized packaging.

They made good figures of them like 20 years ago. The whole town and all sorts of people in it . And they talked when put on the base

Absolutely! Orange Cassidy has been one of the greatest gimmicks since the Ruthless Aggression era. Overall better than Danhausen. As cool as I think Danhausen is, Orange Cassidy is a small guy that's more believable...and has better in-ring skills.
