One of the very few top players that have come from Europe and taken the MLS seriously. He knows he is above the average talent level here but he doesnt drag himself around the pitch like Pirlo Gerrard, or Lampard use to do. He looks like he is playing full effort, get it Schweiny!
Alex Clementino Hope that he stays that way and be constant...look at Drogba for instance. He shined for a bit and then flopped sorely at a point where he couldnt even make the bench
Well alot of top footballers look at MLS as the retirement league but Giovinco and Bastian prove that you can still make a difference in the clubs direction. Not just on the pitch to knock the ball around
Alex hahahaha ok but Bastian has played only 1 game hahahaha how can you make such a statement based on 1 performance, the level of intensity in MLS is far lower than in EUROPE, its not the same thing to train in chicago fire than to train around MAN U Players, the intensity is higher and thats why bastian is in good level for mls... give him until summer break and watch him drop level like pirlo and the rest, what an idiot you prove to be
you overhype too much and based your whole argument on 1 game.. i would agree with your opinion if Bastian already had a whole season performing at a great level but 1 game?? OMG come un chucho carbon y no exageres
Hi MSL-fans, greetings from Germany. You got one of our best players there, a true golden oldie! Not only is he an excellent player, "Schweini" is also a very decent human being. He will give his best for his team, no strutting about like a Superstar. He knows the team comes first and I would be very surprised if he won´t make a big difference for Chicago Fire. Treat him well and enjoy. We miss him! Go, Schweini & Chicago!
It is so nice seeing Bastian in a team where he is utilized and can make such a deadly pass and alter the game. It is a shame he was treated poorly by Man UTD. But as the saying goes, one mans trash is another mans treasure and boy howdy have Chicago gotten a golden oldie
Best part for the Fire is he isn't even that old. At 32, he could have a few solid years left in him (if he resigns with them and his health holds up).
ImOnlyAdam dont blame man utd. the man utd media team already treat him nicely, post lots of appreciation on official social media especially during his farewell. its just mourinho, always prefer pogba and fellaini rather than him i dont know why. and now mourinho already mention that he is regret
The mls is pure Shite mate.. Thats why older Europeans footballers retire there... He was silly to think Manchester united is a club you can retire at... Don't get me wrong he was great in his day
Noh Tom if an average player like schweiny( who used to be good but was never top 10 world class.. and hasnt been that good for the past 2-4 years) is the bomb all of sudden in the MLS.. then.. the MLS defo needs to start improving their game.. Try and get youngsters from around the world instead of.. this.. With all due respect for schweinsteiger. But even if he had a really good time at bayern.. its obviously he's just and old player that barey resebles the player he once was.. if this video didnt tell us this was schweinsteigers MLS debut.. i would have sworn this was like an amateur friendly match with some non proff footballers and some retired players
Greetings from Germany and Congratulations to Chicago Fire! You got the captain of our national soccer team and world-champion as player...That´s a BINGO!
Me as a Bayern fan was screaming to death a few days ago after that 4-2 loss against Real Madrid, but this actually cheered me up because such a great midfielder has moved on to his last leg of his career.
He fits here so nicely coz he is given the freedom to show his playmaking ability to the fullest in MLS...stupid Man utd & to an extent bayern too to lose him
Khanz Gzana he chose to leave bayern he wanted to try smthn new cuz he had been at bayern for so long i would wish shweiny would've came back to bavaria after man utd manager made him train with reserve but he chose to go to a shitty club
i know the mls isnt what european leagues are but i love it because even though it doesnt have quality players you can feel the energy and you can see up and coming talent
Class person. Class player. Class human. I really hope to meet him while he's here in the US. I also hope he stays and coaches after he's done playing. He can do a lot for football in North America.
Wtf is he doing in the MLS he's still a quality player. Good enough for man Utd. He was treated so poor my Man U despite being so much better than fellaini who gets played very often
As someone who want MLS to succeed, I hate to say it but... If a dude who couldn't crack into the substitutes at 2 different European top flights comes in and dominates MLS in the twilight of his career - then maybe the US isn't nearly as close to being good at "foot" as we think we are.
It's great seeing after Schweinsteiger playing so good after what happened at Man Utd but I can see why Mourinho didn't play him he can't play at that world class level anymore but I think the MLS level is perfect for him.
To be real honest, I already feel as if Chicago is gonna be a playoff team especially with this man on the field, looks like TFC is up for a big, big challenge this year
LOL He wouldn't get the credit he deserves! I love MLS but appreciating players like Kante here is still at least a decade away. Don't mistake my comments for talking smack, it's just the under-appreciated talent Kante displays in the Premiere league is totally foreign here
basti a player not to reckon with because if u dear to mess with him he will make you humiliate yourself but still wat a n incredible debut to be featured on the pictch leaving players stranded nd no clue of where the ball was when at the time basti as nutmeg that they didnt even know
Bastian, have you been abducted? Please blink twice if you want me to get you out of here. Some of the teammates are such noobs, there is no way he has willingly came.
haha yh i know. it was a reference to an american reporter who asked Schweinsteiger on his unveiling, if Bastian thinks he could deliver ChicagoFire the worldcup now that he's signed up
Bastian Schweinsteiger in first 4 games 85% pass accuracy 6.3 long balls per game 1.3 key passes 2 goals 70 passes per game average 7.81 average rating
I always feel so sorry for Schweiny. He's such a great guy and a really good player but he was treated so badly at United. I am a fan of United and I really rate him
It's been a LONG time coming, but it says something that Bastian is the best Dmid in MLS now. For years since his arrival it's been Ozzie Alonso. Period. And if u don't agree, you clearly didn't pay attention. Great strikers in this league come and go, and we always crown a new greatest every couple years or so (right now it's Seba), but dmid not so much. Basically I'm saying it says a lot about 1) The league's attractiveness 2) The leagues ability to acquire top tier players closer to their prime, in positions that aren't attacking oriented

To be fair Pirlo seemed to me, all the time, to be dragging himself over the pitch back at Juventus.

1000x better than everyone else on that pitch
4 Deadly Passes, 3 Nutmegs, 1Goal, Insane
give him a few games to find his feet, he'll be sprung into action
MLS is still so weak lol
Arno Nym deady??
deadly
he also had an assist to make it 2:2 but they didnt show it
It is so nice seeing Bastian in a team where he is utilized and can make such a deadly pass and alter the game. It is a shame he was treated poorly by Man UTD. But as the saying goes, one mans trash is another mans treasure and boy howdy have Chicago gotten a golden oldie

eznymorpheus just hopes he signs for the rapids (my team) XD
ImOnlyAdam well said , you made my day🖒
The mls is pure Shite mate.. Thats why older Europeans footballers retire there... He was silly to think Manchester united is a club you can retire at... Don't get me wrong he was great in his day
He's great, but his Teammate #9, Jesus he's bad
Miggy did you see the goal Solignac scored?
Miggy the number 9 is solignac and then he scored a super goal
his touch is horrendous
haha was thinking the same. May pop over the pond for a trial. If he can play first time then I certainly can.
You would be lucky to make a 5th tier side here LOL.
Thank you for making Chicago your team and home for the last few years. You will always be a world class athlete.
it looks like a highschool varsity player playing with middle school kids
Noh Tom it looks like a European playing in Mls
European football > Mls
Abraham Felipe tru
Noh Tom if an average player like schweiny( who used to be good but was never top 10 world class.. and hasnt been that good for the past 2-4 years) is the bomb all of sudden in the MLS.. then.. the MLS defo needs to start improving their game..

Takeshi Yamamoto we got Miguel Almiron on Atlanta United. He's a good young player.
Takeshi Yamamoto He was never top 10 world class? You're fucking stupid
chance after chance shweinstiger passes and they keep missing
It's spelled Schvienshtygär
No its Schvainstaigar.
I thought it was Schneinsteiger
correct name of him is : "Fußballgott" !
I thought it was suantiger
Greetings from Germany and Congratulations to Chicago Fire! You got the captain of our national soccer team and world-champion as player...That´s a BINGO!
This is the player we needed at Utd, his passes just reminds me off Scholes... it's a shame that Mourinho didn't acknowledge his qualities
Me as a Bayern fan was screaming to death a few days ago after that 4-2 loss against Real Madrid, but this actually cheered me up because such a great midfielder has moved on to his last leg of his career.

You do know the league sucks?
J'espère qu'il fera beaucoup de bien au Chicago Fire! Superbe joueur
Wenger Out poster at 1:20 lol
poor Wenger , he should just quit,as he is making a fool of himself.
WorldWide I support Manchester United so I'm quite alright with Wenger lol.
WorldWide I saw it too. Agreed.
Lmao
alexevans0430 LMAO. I missed it. Great catch!!
i know hes a great player but the players hes playing against in the mls will only make him look 10x better lol
True. In Europe, he couldn't do anything. He sucked ass really, horrible player. But now in MLS, he could shine.
He wasn't bad. When he went to Manchester United Mourinho was being a tool lul
ryukdluffy Naah, he was in Europe a great player as well
he hasnt been on that world class level for 3 years now , but now hes in MLS he will look like hes world class again lol
just love to state facts mate , obviously not boring enough for you not to comment
i know the mls isnt what european leagues are but i love it because even though it doesnt have quality players you can feel the energy and you can see up and coming talent

The league of retirement
League of youth, retirement scene is dead as we have a younger average age than the prem, look at facts
how long did it take to make that overused joke?
Class person. Class player. Class human. I really hope to meet him while he's here in the US. I also hope he stays and coaches after he's done playing. He can do a lot for football in North America.
Looks like he ran the game. Good luck to him cos he deserves to be playing week in week out.

They're on track to win the World Cup if he keeps up this form!
Elias Nathenson Talking about Germany?
Elias Nathenson Hahahahahahahaha
I'm talking about the reporter that asked Schweini if he thinks Chicago has a good chance of winning the world cup
Elias Nathenson the World Cup?
Yes. I know it's a dumb question
Wtf is he doing in the MLS he's still a quality player. Good enough for man Utd. He was treated so poor my Man U despite being so much better than fellaini who gets played very often
Legend play well score many goals

I hope more legends from europe come to chicago!!
Always awesome 🤗

too much of a beast to play in MLS
MLS is going to talk about this guy for a long time.
Schön endlich mal wieder Highlights von Schweini zu sehen👏🏾

I'd love to play along side Bastian!
It's great seeing after Schweinsteiger playing so good after what happened at Man Utd but I can see why Mourinho didn't play him he can't play at that world class level anymore but I think the MLS level is perfect for him.
my idol
To be real honest, I already feel as if Chicago is gonna be a playoff team especially with this man on the field, looks like TFC is up for a big, big challenge this year

As a united fan I'm happy for him, #gluckschwiney👍
Jogava demais.
So Inspirational can't wait to see them win in Moscow
Welcome to Chicago ... Bastian !
Imagine kante in the MLS
LOL He wouldn't get the credit he deserves! I love MLS but appreciating players like Kante here is still at least a decade away. Don't mistake my comments for talking smack, it's just the under-appreciated talent Kante displays in the Premiere league is totally foreign here
Giuseppe Baccaro Yeah but then Fellaini would have to come over to MLS too, unless he decides to let Kanté out of his pocket.
Giuseppe Baccaro don't worry Kante will be there in 10 years when his time is gone and he is mugged over by a club like bastian with mufc
Hopefully now they can kick on and win the World Cup
Good header goal Bastian
basti a player not to reckon with because if u dear to mess with him he will make you humiliate yourself but still wat a n incredible debut to be featured on the pictch leaving players stranded nd no clue of where the ball was when at the time basti as nutmeg that they didnt even know
What is this music? Please help!
Darude - Sandstorm
Marty Doan no
ask US Soccer Soul. He's the master behind this piece
Matthew Cuzen - Living It 👍
US Soccer Soul I can't seem to find it :(
Bastian, have you been abducted? Please blink twice if you want me to get you out of here. Some of the teammates are such noobs, there is no way he has willingly came.
Irfan Sehic nazi stop
yea cause man united abducted him
WTF is up with that stupid music ??????? Let me listen to the dam atmosphere
Class
basti is always a great player with great personality as well...hate the fact that Mou is unwilling to use his service for Man United
Though a MANU fan but pretty sure one of the many despicable decisions of Mourinho.
Wonder why he let Schweini leave
MLS - League of Retired.
the Conductor is back ... bosses midfield again
The MLS must super easy for him
from bayern to man u to chicago fire
He can win Another world cup now with Chicago Fire
Bastian gonna take the Chicago Fire to the World Cup!
Chicago Fire: 2018 World Cup Champions
Huzzah!
haha yh i know. it was a reference to an american reporter who asked Schweinsteiger on his unveiling, if Bastian thinks he could deliver ChicagoFire the worldcup now that he's signed up
Bastian Schweinsteiger in first 4 games

1.3 key passes

Now Chicago win the MLS !
Man if Blanco and Schweiny would have played together...woah.
chicago grabbed him, dax and nikolic. bast gets the attention but theyve made more than one big move.
he was playin in some dimes
I always feel so sorry for Schweiny. He's such a great guy and a really good player but he was treated so badly at United. I am a fan of United and I really rate him
Now they can win the world cup

happy, he still got his touch, screw utd
at least he's happier then when he was at man utd though
