      @@Drakshl yeah its true, i dunno if their still paying those absurd contracts for European players, it wasn't really helpful anyway.
      Imagine you're on a team, playing together, then some dude with a European accent comes to your team and is paid as much as the entire team... combined.
      Yeah that type of stuff eventually rubs people up the wrong way, not sure if those crazy contracts are available anymore.
      I know China stopped doing that quick, with their own players who were being paid literally 5% of some of the European players that were going there.

      What you see in this video is the MLS 10 years ago that was subpar, since then it has evolved a shit ton and sent a ton of players to Europe who are all having successful careers there. In the past 10 years MLS has grown exponentially, the average level today is that of the dutch first division, and by that I don't mean Ajax but the average level of the division. TBoth the backline of the USMNT and Canada have a lot of MLS players and they all competed equal to equal with frontlines with pretty much all european stars. Look at Canada 2 USA 0 Canada's backline which had 2 MLS players playing and another guy from a mid to low table portuguese team, completely shut down pulisic as well as other USA stars to the point where he was almost crying. look at Mexico's frontline of Raul Jimenez, Lozano, Corana, and look how they struggled vs a USA backline with 2 MLS centerbacks and a MLS goalkeeper 0 goals in 2 games vs the USA. And only 2 goals in 2 games vs Canada with 0 goals for all of the forward line and only Corona and lozano getting an assist. And defense is supposed to be a weak spot in MLS. Everton lost 4-0 with their starters to an MLS club, Chelsea also lost a friendly on penalties to a MLS club. Goes to show you the league is not a joke.

      @Channel Name -
      A league that changed the rules of the sport and introduced “shootouts” to define games
      A league that systematically shapes teams to have an imbalance of high quality attackers and low quality defenders to create high scoring games and ascetically good goals.
      As well a league that does not follow the pyramid structure of the sport to create a league in which investors can be satisfied that their team will never be relegated.
      End product? A retirement league in which players that are past it bring small bursts of excitement to fans as well as media and comercial interest.
      All about the money 💰

    • @marconni997
      @marconni997  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Channel Name
      Couldn’t really care what Cruyff thought about them you already know the popular opinion on that.
      Read carefully this is why I used the word “systematically” FIFA does not impose the salary cap its the league itself. Games are extremely low quality but attractive because of it. Like you said of course its a no-brainer to get attackers. You need to look at the bigger picture on the purpose of the salary cap. It lowers the cost of the league because in the end its more about ownership around MLS than it’s between individual clubs and games are more half-attractive its a no-brainer in a business.
      It is also inexcusable to not have a relegation system you are creating a franchise and not a competitive league. The U.S. being a big country and fans not knowing how it works is far from reality on why a relegation system has always been ignored. I already stated my answer on this the investments on new teams and important football infrastructure were done without the intention of ever playing in a lower league division and the more significant investments that are coming in it is likely that it will never happen since the league is being built by the same people who own it unlike most parts in the rest of the world.
      Lastly the level of the league is still crap no matter how much it has “grown”. I mean just watch my video on the parts that include the recent years. And the names still matter and will always matter players and coaches will deny that its a retirement league not because they think so but since they are talking about their employers.
      Even with all of this the MLS is still loosing money as their yearly reports show.

    • @daniellizotte6110
      @daniellizotte6110 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marconni997 1. That was done around 20 or so years ago and has been removed since a long time.
      2. Wrong teams just like to fill their DP slots with forward players, MLS never said you where not allowed to use those slots on defensive players.
      3. True, but they also have a salary cap that prevents a team from completely buying a league like PSG, or Bayern, etc....., so for a minus their is a plus.
      End product, one of the most unpredictible leagues where anyone can beat anyone and anyone can finish top or bottom, and with some of the most entertaining, and dramatic games seen in a domestic league, where last minute goals and comebacks are not a rare occurance, and where incredible playoff games (TFC v Montreal in 2016) (La galaxy v LAFC) have taken place. Overall a far more entertaining league, than most european leagues that are bought by big clubs, and where you know how it is all going to end at the end of the season, with very rare upsets, because the big clubs are so powerful.
