Amazing. As a kid, maybe 6 or older, I was addicted to watching these documentaries, and even though I didn't understand most of what was going on, I loved it. I remember all the music too. Now I run CNC machines, and I'm actually making a setup file for one tomorrow. Funny where life takes you.
I'm glad you remember how much you enjoyed watching documentaries . I enjoyed them as a kid and still do . Occasionally on cable they run a good NOVA program but it's mostly garbage.
I think watching shows like this is invaluable at any point in life. It gives you a great deal of general knowledge. We have too much people who don't understand simple things around them.

For those wondering about the carbide mentioned...actually it's tungsten carbide. A very hard alloy that is often used for cutting tools (mostly metal industry). For simplicity, it's often just referred to as carbide.

TopCuntKelvin I only said so because I watched this old Korean show and it was probably set around 100 A.D and they had servants help them get dressed and put on makeup but it's probably hard to do that without a reflection
I have to admit, for a How it's Made video, this was some extreme ear candy of soothing music to listen to, especially for something as mystifying and magically fantastical as a mirror.

A big salute to engineers who designed the conveyer belt as glass didn't break by even a inch in all these different processes.

+CuT3 Sniper (Sn1p1ng4L1fe) Yeah, I took a stained glass class, and those tools we used were definitely not pliers one edge was flat and the other curved, so when they clamped it down, it would snap the glass downward, breaking if off from the larger piece.

TopCuntKelvin I only said so because I watched this old Korean show and it was probably set around 100 A.D and they had servants help them get dressed and put on makeup but it's probably hard to do that without a reflection
