      @@i.hate.shaving7104 there's nothing wrong in showing your kindness to others .the purpose of showing your kindness to others just like Sir Basel Manadil The Syrian Wanderer is to encourage others to the same. I am a poor person who work as domestic helper abroad and in my little way, I used to give to old people and really.intend to show to others if I do that so that for them also to give what they have even in a very simple little way. His father was working in Saudi Arabia with the Filipino engineers and Filipino skilled workers.
    I'm pretty sure that the Father of Basil had full of confidence to send his Son in the Philippines because his father knew very well the life style, characters that Filipinos have and maybe his father was visited in Philippines sometimes before when he was working with Filipinos in Saudi Arabia.
    A lot of middle eastern youths are now studying college degree in the Philippines, because they have Filipino friends as classmates since Grade School and High School in middle east whom their parents were working the same as Expats in there.

    Hi, Ovela! Born & raised in Cebu City, Philippines. Been your subscriber since your early Dimash time…..up to now.
    What Toni said as a parting words, after she asked Basel how long is he going to be staying in the Philippines, he said for good because he came to live the Philippines already. So Toni said that “if a foreigner could love the Philippines, so filipino’s should also love and be proud of the Philippines.” Which I am, obviously, even though I am already an American citizen.
    Thanks, Ovela, for never failing to entertain me each time -- be it Dimash reactions or your take on the Philippines.

    You can actually keep your original nationality only if the original country has a dual citizenship law. Like in the Philippines, we have dual citizenship law. So if Filipinos wanted to change their nationality, they can keep their Filipino citizenship by virtue of that Ph law. If Syria has its own laws of dual citizenship, then he can apply again for a Syrian citizenship.

    • @rodaadazol8825
      @rodaadazol8825 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The interviewer is mistaken on assuming that Basel changed his nationality. He is still a Syrian national and he had to renounce his Syrian citizenship to become a Filipino citizen. So, he has now the same rights as any other Filipino citizen. Like you said, he can later apply for dual citizenship be it in Syria or any other country depending on their citizenship law.

      Me too! :) Some haters have just known him now and judging him just because he got famous. But we've seen his humble beginnings and how he inspired a lot of people! And walked the talk unlike many politicians who are only opposing the government without actually doing anything. He's far more better than some politicians.

      Not all. I grew up without my parents. Dada died when i was a baby, mudra is an OFW - left when I was 2. Nagbabakasyon sya every 2yrs sa Pinas. Became a scholar at age of 13yrs old (Yes, HS palang scholar na ako). Started working at 16. Mahirap magjuggle ng responsibilities kung teens ka pa pero pagdating ng 20s - mani nalang sau maging independent. Enjoyed all those sleepovers when i was in my 20s - freedom from financial issues and emotionaly & mentally stable. Ewan ko - mabilis matuto ang mga batang maaga natuto sa life.😊

We called it dual citizenship but having it, you have limited rights only in the Philippines like owning a property, business, etc. Also, he used to join a competition in a national TV which the segment name is "Foreignoy".

    Maraming Salamat Basel dahil pinaalala mo samin na kung kayang mahalin ng isang dayuhan ang aming bayan mas lalo dapat namin itong pahalagahan at higit na ipagmalaki bilang mga mamamayan.
    -Thank you very much Basel for you have reminded us that if a foreigner can love our own home then we as its citizens must appreciate and be proud of it more.
