Two things that pissed me off this episode were Dale being terrible as lookout and Shane wasting all that water by baptizing himself!? Like Wtf?! Great beginning to a great season. Wasn't my fav season when it first aired but I now look back at it and it's one of my favs. Please stick with the show, you will not be disappointed!

Nothing wrong with narration in general, but the lack of narration is definitely the right choice for TWD. They do find a way to get a little bit of voice over, like with the walk-talkie in this one, but if there was someone narrating it would just feel too safe
I think this season is highly underrated. The first half can be a bit slow, but the second half of this season still has some of my favorite episodes of the entire series!
I’m glad the characters don’t break the fourth wall with a “straight-up” narration because that would be weird, especially when one of the appeals of the show is not knowing which characters are going to survive at any given moment, ya know?
You asked where did the walkers come from? Walkers are attracted to sound and Daryl is on a loud ass Harley. In this episode you see a walker climb up into the RV, walkers can't climb stairs in TWD. You'll never see that again; this series was still fresh at this time.
Yeah. I made the same comment on a dif channel. Im sure his bike drew them and I like to think they were in the woods bc they obviously weren’t on the highway all the time or they would have passed them.

He worked under Tom Savini starting with George Romero’s (the father of the zombie genre) Day Of The Dead. Tom Savini is a pioneer of gore in his own right. He did effects for George Romero’s Dawn Of The Dead as well, along with Friday the 13th and his remake of George Romero’s Night Of The Living Dead.
Season two is one of my favorite seasons of the show! It introduces some great new characters and I love the storylines this season, you're in for a treat!
This episode is on of my favourite season openers ever. It’s so tense and really sets up the conflicts of the rest of the season. Season 2 is a bit slow at times but I never feel bored while watching, even on rewatches. The build up of tension and introduction of new characters is so good that it’s worth it being a little more slow paced.
Glad you're back. I hated that members of the group blamed Rick for Sophia getting lost. Shane wasting all that water drove me crazy. You don't waste water in an Apocalypse. I love the way Rick is depending more on Daryl.
I always liked how the first Walker chasing Rick and Sofia wouldn’t go in the water and seemed really hesitant and just stood there and instead went around instead of following the second Walker into the stream.

Honestly, I love season 2 the most because while it can be considered slower than the later seasons it's more like a gradual build-up to a lot of things that I don't want to spoil here. I really hope you continue through season 2 at least!
It's my favourite because of character development the way characters grow stronger some of them get passionate, some get cruel or even ruthless, they lose people and they get back up💖💖

I kind of feel Shane in this episode, he had the right Idea said the right things amd he's only trying to leave and not talking to Carl because after Rick came back Lori said to him that her and her son where off limits to him and not to interact with them so that's what he's trying to do I guess. Also let's not forget that the group is now heading toward Fort Benning which is where Shane wanted to go originally before Rick said they should head to the CDC. So we gotta give Shane some props
Just to let you know that the showrunner has changed now Frank Darabont was the showrunner for Season 1 But now Glenn Mazzara is the showrunner for Season 2 There was a lot of issues that happened behind the scenes that resulted in Frank Darabont getting fired as the showrunner But as of now in Season 2 he’s an executive producer and plus he directed this episode I thought he did a great job as the showrunner last season and a great job with the casting.

Ok I know you’re not too fond of Shane but listen. He fell hard for Lori when Rick was “dead” and when he came back Shane was in the wrong. He pursued Lori still. The CDC talk with Lori and also him pointing a gun at his best friend. In a way he knows he’s in the wrong. Now he finally does what Lori asks and “stays the hell away from her family” and then she’s still mad. Why wouldn’t you want to leave.
Because leaving because he "can't have her" just shows how little of a man he is. He should be able to set his feelings aside in order to help protect the group.

The "narration" definitely works in this case because it's not really a narration. It's not really a monologue either, it's more of a one-sided dialogue but with establishing images put under it. Definitely a useful technique for tone-setting for the introduction of the first episode of the season.

I loved almost everything - your personality, the show, the reaction. BUT! it was also SO hard to watch because of whatever motion effect was put on the video (am I the only one seeing it?). Literally had to stop half-way because it gave me headache. If it's an effect, please don't use that in the future, I really wanna keep watching!
27:08 to be clear, i think Sophia was the dumbest child character in the walking dead of the 9 seasons I've watched. Go in the direction rick tells you to go...she goes the other way....still annoys me to this day honestly
My only defense for Sophia is that at this point we don't know why she took off in a different direction and this is still at the beginning of the apocalypse. (I don't want to spoil anything if Ang happens to read this so I won't put more) but yea...haha

I loved almost everything - your personality, the show, the reaction. BUT! it was also SO hard to watch because of whatever motion effect was put on the video (am I the only one seeing it?). Literally had to stop half-way because it gave me headache. If it's an effect, please don't use that in the future, I really wanna keep watching!

27:08 to be clear, i think Sophia was the dumbest child character in the walking dead of the 9 seasons I've watched. Go in the direction rick tells you to go...she goes the other way....still annoys me to this day honestly
IMO Sophia and Henry are the dumbest ones.
My only defense for Sophia is that at this point we don't know why she took off in a different direction and this is still at the beginning of the apocalypse. (I don't want to spoil anything if Ang happens to read this so I won't put more) but yea...haha
