    You guys might do things differently. Cause I was taught to use 2 short padded boards and not to directly put it on the fracture. Bone fracture = joint - joint. Dislocation = bone - bone.

  • @stevenzayas5527

    Assuming this is a radio-ulnar break, when tying the swathe, wouldn't you want to have it go over the wrist, rather than on top of the injury?

    • @mikeinglett3994
      @mikeinglett3994 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. The swathe is supposed to go over the humerus then across and over the sling and above the hand. Placing the swathe below the wrist tends to allow the swathe to work its way down and fall off the elbow later. In this video it would be best to lower the distal end of forearm some in the sling and run the swathe over.

    Aren't you suppose to pad the sling when you tie it around the neck?

    • @Emtprep
      @Emtprep  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Epic, not required, but if needed it would be a good idea.

    • @emilyann4623

      yes u should

    • @mikeinglett3994
      @mikeinglett3994 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also can offset the knot so it's not in the center of the neck. That's easier than padding and works fine.

      Good question Caleb, we recommend studying a variety of sources to prepare for the exam. Make sure you're looking at your textbook, class notes, and EMTprep. Surround yourself with the material and you'll do great.
