My mom introduced me to classical music around that same age (back in the 70's - 80's) and I thank her for that. Listen to Adagio - Albinoni, it makes me cry when I listen to it. I wish you a good life.

It's in a slightly different tempo than most performances I've listened to but what a beautiful gem in the baroque repetoire this is. Extraordinary music, wonderful version and exquisite musicians! Thanks for sharing this beauty with the world.
One of the most strikingly gorgeous piece of music ever written and I think this must be the best version of it. So powerful, delicate, profound...Simply brilliant!
I heard this for the first time 20 years ago. My 14 year old ears had never appreciated much music at all. However, when I heard this particular masterpiece, I felt an intense tingle starting in my arms, then a rush of pure emotion throughout my entire body. I felt the music touch my soul.. It was as if I had a musical orgasm, minus the need for cleanup ( or a sock for that matter, considering I was only a tender age of 14). I think it was the cello and bass parts that really did it for me. I thank you Handel for this precious gift of music.
Elegiac, mournful, compelling, stately melancholia...yet Sarabande is a dance. One of my faves along with Adagio for Strings, Barber, which is similar in its darkness
I have listened to and enjoyed this Handel over a hundred times. This time I found the sounds too distinct and marked. When in this saraband the instruments merge more together, it is sublime

most real music even rock comes from classic music. im a big fan of pink floyd , the who, procol harem etc, and their influence came from the classics. even opera started the form of singing of a story, for example the west side story, or phantom of the opera, kats the musical all came from opera, like puccinis lebohame, madam butterfly both my favourite musicals. you cant help but being a fan of the classics because if your not then you dont like anytype of music.

One of the most perfect orchestral pieces of all time, fantastic to see the orchestra - and the total boredom of the audience! The talent and decades of practice put in to get to that level of perfection, to be greeted by a bunch of bored tourists :)
I used this piece as the Processional for my wedding...the church was so impressed, the music director added it to their offerings of Processional music.
It's a great performance of a great piece of music. I just can't Handel the quality of this music. I'm adding this to the list of great performances of the Sarabande. Up is Down and Down is Up. From One comes All and from All comes One.
Absolutely love this piece - especially in a Fred Dibnah documentary when the fire is lit and the chimney is going to fall down - though when our church organist plays it (brilliantly) and I'm stood in the tower ringing the bell it can get a bit scary!

The origin to Sarabande is dance music from Mexico that evolved from a Spanish dance with Arab influences. It is human mixed culture, not western european.

At 26, he asked for a holiday and began a career in England. But Händel stayed there without the consent of his boss. In 1714, Georg of Hanover became the King of England, and he was the patron of Handel again. *Handel was an immigrant* and *so was the King of England George the First* .

Exactly, red head and may be as in "Mother Goose Rhymes" "If a woman's eyes are green, take a whip and ...". That is exactly the type of a woman that would make you walk to The Last Judgment with a smile listening to Sarabande. To me this majestic piece sounds like a procession to The Last Judgment. Just recalled, in old days ladies from good families were not supposed to play winds and also cello. There is only one way to hold cello.

I used this piece as the Processional for my wedding...the church was so impressed, the music director added it to their offerings of Processional music.

It's a great performance of a great piece of music. I just can't Handel the quality of this music. I'm adding this to the list of great performances of the Sarabande.

Absolutely love this piece - especially in a Fred Dibnah documentary when the fire is lit and the chimney is going to fall down - though when our church organist plays it (brilliantly) and I'm stood in the tower ringing the bell it can get a bit scary!

The origin to Sarabande is dance music from Mexico that evolved from a Spanish dance with Arab influences. It is human mixed culture, not western european.

And think that Händel, one of the greatest English composers, was a German: he had a first career in Germany, where he was serving the Elector of Hanover. At 26, he asked for a holiday and began a career in England. As he was very successful at London, he wanted to stay there though Georg of Hanover, his patron, was rather reluctant about allowing him to extend his leave. But Händel stayed there without the consent of his boss.
In 1714, Georg of Hanover became the King of England, and he was the patron of Handel again. *Handel was an immigrant* and *so was the King of England George the First* .

Exquisite- near perfection. I feel that I’m almost in front of the orchestra, and their rendition of this lesser know but monumental classic has more than once brought me to tears. Brilliant- purely brilliant.

This is vastly superior to the other performances that have been uploaded on TH-cam; they're almost robotic by comparison.
Four years later... and yet it is still the best performance by far...
The cadence lends itself to the mechanical..take a true artist to find the passion.

I saw this orchestra on TH-cam with Adagio by Tomaso Albinoni and i was so excited. Now i found this video and i am so thankfull for that - i can't stop listening to these musicians. Exactly, red head and may be as in "Mother Goose Rhymes" "If a woman's eyes are green, take a whip and ...". That is exactly the type of a woman that would make you walk to The Last Judgment with a smile listening to Sarabande. To me this majestic piece sounds like a procession to The Last Judgment.
Just recalled, in old days ladies from good families were not supposed to play winds and also cello. There is only one way to hold cello.
