    A bit of info if you guys are interested: This song is the sixth song from a concept album. it's about reincarnation and characters have dejavu etc etc. Character has an affair with her BF's brother and then there is some jealousy and he kills both of them in the 'previous life' and then in the 'new life', in the last song on the album, one of the reincarnated brothers pours himself something to drink and puts on a record to listen to. As he is sitting in his chair, the other reincarnated brother in the story walks in and kills him. Or something really close to it. At that point the 'record' scratches and you hear white noise for a few seconds until the album ends. The next Dream Theater album is called Six Degrees Of Inner Turbulence, and starts off with the first song of the '12 steps suite' or the AAA song or whatever you want to call it, which as you've heard is the 'white noise' from this album.

    You've got to check out the live version of Dream Theater's 'Beyond This Life' from their Live at Budokan tour. As a huge DT fan, I can tell you the studio recording is already an insane prog metal track, but the live rendition is on another level entirely. The musicianship the band displays is just jaw-dropping

    Hell, yes! You guys know how I feel about Dream Theater. If you’re having trouble with the context of this song, it’s part of a concept album, and it tells part of a story.

    So awesome to see you both enjoy a DT song! Home will forever be one of my very favorite songs of all time. It has everything I love - an incredible melodic chorus, a ton of energy, great (though simple) riffs, and killer trippy background vocals

      I actually heard this song ON THE RADIO on a late night broadcast shortly after the album was released. Bought the album and became forever a fan.

      @@matthewdrews That’s awesome - I would go nuts if I ever heard it on the radio! I had only heard Metropolis Pt. 1 (I downloaded it from Napster or Limewire) and really liked it. So I decided to pick up Scenes on a whim at Best Buy around 2000. Threw it in and the rest is history - still my all time favorite album and my all time fav band.

    that sound you liked is a sitar which is an asian guitar style instrument however it is actually played on the keyboard

    Dream Theater is an amazing band!!! Mike Portnoy is one of my favorite drummers of all time.

    the song after this in the album is one of their most famous (or infamous) instrumentals that no doubt people will tell you to listen to if you stay around this band long. Very much the epitome of "changing and swapping things up" and "musicianship", so might be the very 2 things you seem to like about them, lol

    The rest of this album is a joy ride. I recommend you two should check out Metropolis Part 1 before hearing the rest of Metropolis Part 2. Thanks!! 🙂

    you guys need to do this whole album, it tells a single story and it is probably the best DT album to date

    Joel you didn’t do the video! This is off a concept album. It is the sixth scene of the album Metropolis Part 2 Scenes From A Memory. This song was about him loving his brother’s lady and not knowing how to deal with it. Mike Portnoy is an insane drummer and I’m glad he’s back! They don’t play the moans of adultery as loudly in the live version. That’s two Dream Theater songs in a 2 Bois playlist lol 🤣🤣🤣

    Considering that the sex sounds in the song were suppose to represent one character sleeping with his brother's girlfriend, it could be like your home 🤣
    But in all seriousness, Scenes From A Memory is a fantastic listen from start to finish. The story is compelling and might cause you to increase your rating of the song if you follow the whole story throughout the album.

    Duuuuuuuuuuuuuude, it's sound of casino rollete game as one character is a gambler and meanwhile his girlfriend is having an affair with his brother. And that's SITAR, Indian origin sound (though it's played by keyboards of Jordan Rudess)

      That's a huge L take. There are so many fantastic women in metal!

    • @nikelodeon6852
      @nikelodeon6852 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KnightscastStudios There are also a lot more men then women in metal so way to miss the point..

    • @KnightscastStudios
      @KnightscastStudios  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree that there are more men singers than women in metal. I understood your point. 🤣
      But there are still a shit ton of female fronted metal bands, with a plethra of different sounds. I've never struggled to find diversity in my metal, that's what im saying. Still an L take! 😄🍻

    • @nikelodeon6852
      @nikelodeon6852 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@KnightscastStudios The L take is you limiting yourself to way less number of bands for whatever weird reason you have but it's your choice lol.

    • @KnightscastStudios
      @KnightscastStudios  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @nikelodeon6852 As you said, there's a bigger percentage of dude singers in metal. I don't have problems finding guy singers that I actually enjoy.
      And, not limiting myself, just an internal preference or taste. Not intentionally doing this 🤣
