  • This is Shintō Musō-ryū Jodo or short staff, a traditional martial art (Koryū) where the defender uses a wooden staff against a swordsman wielding a katana (sword). This demonstration was filmed at the Kashima Shrine, Japan.

    This is great, I love this channel. Have you ever thought about filming Western martial arts? Weapons arts and Unarmed? I would love to see some of those arts.

      A lot of Ryuha’s have Jojutsu, you should also look into jodo. Kendo Federation teaches jodo along side kendo

      Try to contact Sensei Phil Relnick at his dojo in Washington state - he is without a doubt the best instructor for Jodo in the US.
