2D side-scrollers aren't generally appealing to me either, but when i like one... i really like it. I'll check this one out. Really like the art style.
Thanks for the introduction, looks promising. I'm with you re side scrollers but agree that this might be an exception: I really like the art style. And hey, the tweaks you have made to your format are great: one thing that makes you mad! And man do I agree with you on that one: every time I encounter a game like that it is "WTH were they thinking? Why?"
I played the demo last night and was very surprised at how large the talent tree was for each class. I thought the controls/movement needs some polishing as everything feels sort of floaty.
Doubtful, mate. Don't like that genre altogether and it's a huge time sink. I wouldn't be able to profit from it as well due to too many channels focusing on such games.
I don't think the artstyle is necessarily cartoon-ish, looks more like concept art drawing to me. Certainly prefer this more safer fantasy look over something like no rest for the wicked's overblown body proportions.
6:55 you think that putting bonfire far away only adds tedium, but imo it makes at least 50% of pre-elden ring souls difficulty (especially ds2). In elden ring every boss except malenia and pre nerf radahn (not talking about dlc one, didnt play it and dont think i will) was simple dps check for me - i just spammed jump r1 with dual twohanded swords or some hyperarmor weapon art and didnt care if i die coz i can try again after 10 seconds. In older titles we actually had to be careful, because if you die you waste 3 minutes running it back, yes it's tedious but it changes the playstyle dramatically. I dont know how it looks in this game but i will defend this design choice of old souls till i die, lel. Anyways sidescrollers arent my cup of tea but this game doesnt look bad.
Completely disagree with that take. It adds nothing but skipping enemies which equals time consumed for nothing. All of us skip enemies after we die at the hands of the boss. What challenge? What difficulty? How can skipping enemies add difficulty and challenge? You just run past them. If you need to change the playstyle to get to a boss from the last bonfire then I don't know what to tell you. Never did that because there was no point in doing it. Just ran past enemies with zero effort to get to the boss arena asap. Also Elden Ring bosses are not a good example because they are by far the worst designed bosses in From Software souls series. You're right, it ends up as a dps race but it has nothing to do with the placement of bonfires. Though even Elden Ring started putting more and more bonfires immediately before the boss cause they knew it had no point. If fights before the boss were mandatory then I would absolutely agree with you. However in case of From Software games there is no point at all, same as with Mandragora.
Nice seeing reviews of unknown, to me, games. Looks promising.

Tried it yesterday and loving it so far. Great animations, the party with shield and evade add a nice touch to the fighting.
I like how it looks.
Looks interesting.

Im sold. Wish he’d sheath his sword while out of combat thought. Hope it comes to PS5.
Good show sir
This looks like a crisp game. Speaking of path of exile 7:40, can we expect some path of exile 2 videos when early access comes?

I swear boss, I would've never seen the games you showcase these days if not for you. Also when you streaming?
No clue, mate. Don't know what to stream atm.
@@rpgdivision use the community posts more, make a pull about what to stream and let viewers vote for a while

For anyone that’s played this demo, is there anything similar out currently?
cool
Art looks great, even though 2D games are not my style
