Ducati V4 Multistrada Akrapovic Dyno Testing - More Power !!! Great Upgrade.

  • We done some 4th gear dyno pulls showing what the V4S Multistrada is able to produce in stock form in "SPORT MODE". Pitty the Torque numbers aren't available as to connect the Dyno input we needed to remove the fuel tank and time did not allow this. We also ran it through the gears multiple times with the up/down shifter getting put to good use. Then the Akro race system is installed and retested on the dyno.
    On the road this bike is now a weapon. I highly recommend this upgrade... The awesome sound of the Ducati V4 with the pipe done is amazing. Power wheelies on tap too.

      The Akra install includes an ECU update to the EVO fuel maps

    SAE numbers will be slightly lower than STD.

    5 hp at top end and 7 hp at the middle.Not bad at all plus it breathes much better with lower temps!!

    Also did you by chance weigh the stock vs Akrapovic setup? Curious how many pounds it got rid of. Great vid by the way. It's always nice to save these as a resource.

      I've read that the full Akra system saves about 5 kg.

    What’s the orange stuff you put on the gaskets? Is that some kind of grease or silicone? Is it to help make sure there’s no leaks?

      Hi Jordan. Yep it's a hi temp sealant to stop gasket leaks

    Do I also install the ducati map that comes with the kit? Does the akrapovic kit cause some damage to the engine or shortens its useful life?

      Yes the mapping makes bike correct. Front tyre gets lets use with this upgrade ;)

      It would have made more torque but I didn't record it with dyno. Couldn't get the dyno tacho input connected without doing heaps more work. Didn't have the time on my side with this one.

    Those bangs and backfire between upshifts are no more there after the latest software update. Damn I loved them so much 😢

    How long did it take to fit the Akrapovic? And having flames shoot out the muffler seems like the Evo tune runs too rich. Any way to adjust that?

      I don't think they'd done the up-map, but mine (with the up-map) does still has a crack when changing gear and rolling off the throttle!

    With a good flash the performance will be even better. Why you not show how the mixture is when that is way to rich there are lost horses.

    I've never run a dyno but I'm wondering from the software you use, are you able to export the file that contains the hp curve into something else? If you want torque numbers without all that extra work you mentioned and you can export the hp curve into a program such as Excel or MATLAB, you could then run a simple line of code and derive torque. In SAE hp, the formula is: hp = torque* RPM/5252 so from that you could have the software plot torque. It would be much easier than doing all that extra tach setup.

    But this bike does not have the race mode like the new pikes peak. With the installation of the race exhaust ( $3,200 ) and five hours @ about $130 per hour of installation of exhaust and ECU updating from Ducati factory will add 9-10hp. But drop 5.5 kg. Now as of right now only the pikes peak will have the new race mode feature for the added hp and torque. Only Ducati factory can send the software update to a dealer. The dealer then has 72 hours to install. Very in depth process.....

      The pipe adds soo much more power. I think most of it is throttle mapping. It is a huge improvement and turns bike into a nasty beast.

    They told me to rev it harder.

    PLEASE don’t pull the clutch at high speeds. The drivetrain/engine is NOT designed for high speed spinning without any load. Let it roll down naturally or with rear brake. Otherwise nice video!

      Your logic issue is 'invest', not everything has to be an investment. Emotional reward is often greater than some extra cash in the bank, you can't take money with you when you die. Enjoy life and stop worrying about how other's spend their money.

    My 32 year old gsxr1100 slabside gives 150 bhp and is much lighter... think It would win a race but nice tuning guys respect from UK
