2:36 the Marikina market mall is perhaps the largest and longest market mall with roof in the Philippines. It is said to be the Divisoria of Metroeast but way more cleaner

It was overwhelming. So much things to buy and try. I also saw a chapel inside the market!

6:28 The Our Lady of the Abandoned is the Mother and Queen of Marikina City. It's her city for she is our patroness

There's 3 Our Lady of the Abandoned in MM: Santa Ana, Mandaluyong and Marikina. I heard that there used to be a fluvial parade in Pasig and Marikina rivers to visit the 3.

@@josephbautista4401 Yes, and the Sta. Ana image of the icon is kinda similar to the original icon of the Our Lady of the Abandoned in Spain but there's a story why it's called La Gobernadora and it's a beautiful story - a true story. The Marikina image is a mestiza and she's holding a little dove that looks like a little sparrow 😁

Thank you for visiting my hometown as you can see it's very organized and the citizens are well disciplined. Marikina today just like the rest are experiencing tremendous progress for we now have skyscrapers yet still it retains its charming provincial town vibe but only in a metropolitan setting.

You can also visit Loyola memorial park where you can have a graveyard tour of the rich and famous or simply just walk around the river park. There's nothing like it in metro manila the river park is a whole stretch of park along the Marikina river on both sides of its banks there are themed parks, bike lanes, restaurants etc.

Marikina was established by the Augustinian missionaries and once dubbed as the "Mayorazgo" or Royal Estate of the King of Spain in the Far East. It's the most priced hacienda during the Spanish era. Pasig and and parts of QC, Mandaluyong and Rizal are once part of Marikina. Marikina stands in its name from the word Marikit meaning it's beautiful

7:05 the shoe museum building is historical in itself because it serves as a shelter for the katipuneros in that side of Metro Manila. The museum features various shoes of famous personalities the most renowned is Imelda Marcos. You can also find different shoes from different parts of the world.

    • @josephbautista4401

The shoe museum is more than Imelda shoe collection. It's Marikina shoe legacy to the Philippines. I have a cousin is Marikina and they continue to sell shoes

6:00 that's where the first shoes in the Philippines was made and now it's being owned and maintained by the government. Marikina is not the shoe capital of the Philippines for without reason for there are so many shoe manufacturing corporations in the city. High quality and I'm proud to say HANDCRAFTED leather shoes among others.
