    I watched the other videos in this series and liked them. I also read the responses you made to my comments. There’s also no need to apologize for late responses like you did in a different reply. I still need to get around to responding. I tend to be VERY bad with responding on time due to a combination of other things coming up, bad procrastination, and forgetting until something reminds me. I also tend to hyper fixate on stuff and then something else comes along that grabs my attention.
    Something that’s interesting about Offensive Bias’s design is that Bungie was going to add Guardian Sentinels that had the same shape. They would’ve appeared in the cut Guardian Forest mission (the Guardian map with the giant trees is what remains of it) where you’d be able to remove their eyes to use as a weapon, and at the end of the level you’d see a cutscene where a large Sentinel went up and wrecked Truth’s fleet. At one point in development the Guardian Sentinel would be a large boss, and at a different point it would’ve been a mini boss/stronger enemy.
    I’m personally NOT a fan of the Endless being immune to the Rings since in a botched attempt to raise the stakes 343 invalidated the purpose of the Ring where they’re this last resort that kills EVERYTHING that isn’t safe outside the range on inside a shield world. I really like the inclusion of new aliens, but it could’ve been handled far better (all signs point to them being Precursors).
    Not entirely sure what my thoughts on a group of Forerunners and ancient humans surviving since the whole point of the original trilogy is like the previous paragraph the Rings killed everything. All that remains of the Forerunners was their megastructures/relics, automated drones, their descendants (us), and the species they indexed before activating the Rings. If done right it can allow for more storytelling potential, but I’m not a big fan of that. Maybe, if I read the books those characters were from I’d be more open to their return.
    Good video and good luck on the next series. That will be interesting to see.

      I personally don’t like the endless either. They feel incredibly forced. The lack of detail around their existence is very telling. It’s like they through the endless strictly to pivot to another enemy to avoid using the prometheans again. I only choose to include them because I wanted to be as thorough as possible in my videos. I hedged on their inclusion a lot.
      Offensive Bias’ design is very interesting. The fun fact I included about the halo 3 map was only recently confirmed in the Halo book Epitaph. Epitaph has a lot of good lore. It gives a definitive conclusion on The UR Didact’s story. It’s a little bitter sweet, but it’s a fun book.

      Yeah. It’s funny just how little information there is on them. Literally all we have are vague dialogue, and a bunch of fan theories (I LOVE looking back at fan theories because they act as interesting time capsules by showing the then current state of the lore and how people felt about the series at the time. Some of my favorites are looking into all the theories people had about who Rey’s parents, the Knights of Ren, and Snoke were before The Last Jedi basically killed the brand. Fanfics and fan games also give a similar feeling where they’ll be heavily inspired by a very specific thing, while taking elements from the other stuff). Something that’s interesting about Infinite is it has the same problems as BOTW where all the most interesting stuff happens in the past and it makes you wish you were playing that game instead. Honestly, the Prometheans probably would’ve made Infinite more interesting by adding more variety into the mix. 5’s story was a complete train wreck, but they managed to make the Prometheans fun to fight. Unfortunately, their art style, bad ai, and a lack of recognizable ranks held them back.
      I’m assuming it was originally a fan theory that Mendicant Bias was underneath the map. Kind of like how 343 canonized the Cortana Logic Plague theory in that same book. I should definitely read/listen to Epitaph when I get the chance.

    Regardless one would think about 343 industries decision I think we could all agree that the origin given for the Flood by Greg Bear It’s not only I consider be origins stories done, right as not only we know about the origins of the flood but also It makes them even more horrifying as they are literally lovecraftian cosmic horror?

    So was the firing of the array pointless? Because if the Flood were the Precursors incarnate, with the goal of Humanity taking over. And Ecumine leadership had decided that Humans would inherent The Mantle of Responsibility. Wouldn't their goals be in line. The Forerunners even left the galaxy afterwards so it's almost the same as being annihilated by the flood. If anything it was a net loss to the galaxy.

    • @TheHaloChronicle
      @TheHaloChronicle  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      That is a very good question and there is a bit of a complex answer. Before The Forerunners turned on The Precursors, the plan was to pass The Mantle to Humanity. When The Precursors came back as The Flood, all they wanted to do was consume all life in the galaxy. This would prevent their creations from rising up again and allow them to continue their grand plans. The Flood did spare some of Humanity from the infection, but this was a strategic move. It gave the illusion that there was a cure for The Flood. That made The Forerunners waste precious time looking for a cure that never truly existed. The Forerunners also didn't come to the conclusion that humanity should inherit The Mantle until the end of The Forerunner v. Flood. They came to this conclusion when they learned the horrible truth about their ancestors. They learned that their Forerunner Ancestors were the ones that killed The Precursors and started this horrible chain of events. That made them feel that they weren't worthy of The Mantle. They didn't fire the array to restart the universe for Humanity, they fired it to preserve Bio Diverse Life in the galaxy. I hope this answers your question. If it didn't please let me know.
