I recently re watched Boy and it is a great film. One thing i picked up that the ending has an alternate ending. The original ending showed us with the scene where "boy" starts attacking and getting upset at his father alamien for leaving after his mother died. Then he goes to bed and wakes up the next morning and decideds to clean the house then going outside realising his dad left. and showed the sculpture boy made and finished it for him. It didnt explain a lot but the second ending showed us everything from the original THEN showed granma coming back to the house, and boy went to apologise to hos friends about what he had been like to them almost maturing yet being his old self. the most impactful last scene was showed that alamien had finally went to visit his wife at the grave and boy sees him there they both look each other in the eye of apologie and sympathy then the movie ends. I like the new ending better because it shows a more impactful, conpleted and inderstandbale ending
Watching an ep of How To Dad, hearing "Poi E" briefly in the background, led me to this video. Last night I busted out the Boy DVD and watched it all over again. Next time I won't wait 10 years to rewatch it.
