Watching this skit versus the later 'Satellite TV' segments really highlights how much more polished the show became as time went on. In this video, Conan and Andy are talking over the channels they're showing and stepping over the jokes. In later segments, Conan says the name of the channel and then switches to the channel, which lets the audience take in the joke and laugh.
Funny how this idea of a ridiculously all encompassing satellite TV has pretty much come true in the form of present day TH-cam. I bet there’s a dimly lit YT channel. ASMR videos would have fit right in with this sketch.
The Fox dig was hilarious. At the time, Fox didn't even *have* any kind of News and was basically just T&A and "foul" shows like The Simpsons, Married With Children, and Jerry Springer. The fact that the same people who once protested the 'trashy network' now tune in to align their moral compass is too funny to be real.

They specifically reference Conan's constant use of new characters in the Total Rickall episode. It's the one where all those shapeshifting memory aliens turn up taking the form of Frankenstein's Monster, Sleepy Gary, Pencilvester, etc. Rick says something like _'what is this - nineties Conan?'_ Quality knows quality.
If you don't mind it being spoiled for you (I've watched all 607 episodes before it was pulled off the air), he says "I don't mind" and they stay together. Apparently they both realized they could never seem to see each others faces, so it didn't really impact their relationship. Not sure where the writers were going with that one. They should stick with verbal drama. Like the episode where you could hear Mary's bones crack when she fell off her Suzuki motorbike. At least I assume it was Suzuki.

One of my favourite stories about Louis CK's time at the show is when he wrote one of those 'Actual Items' bits for the show, where they take a product advert and add ridiculous fake blurb to it. Anyway, it was an advert for vintage collectible coins and Louis CK came up with the line 'coins so old you can buy slaves with them'. It never got aired but it became legendary nevertheless,
