I agree with Charles Forgo. This was about the only useful video on TH-cam on the differences between the two hydrometers. Short and to the point. Well done Mike!
I bought the alcohol meter instead of the hydrometer and trying to check FG hhh I thought the stupid alcohol meter is broken since it was fully flouting inside water and juice . Gus what I was wrong about everything Thanks for clarifying the difference between those two tools Now, I know they answer and need to make avnew order Keep up the good work thank u
I live in a place where you cannot get a beer hydrometer and Amazon doesn’t deliver here. I have a spirits hydrometer. Here’s the hardest question in the world: What is the conversion factor needed to translate a spirits hydrometer reading to a beer (wort) hydrometer reading? Thanks for any help. Great vid, too.
Let me clarify for those who don't understand. There is no functional difference. The labelling is the only difference. It's like a ruler with inches and a ruler with centimetres.
i would like to thank you sir for the explanation of the alcometer now i know why my freinds have commented on the strength of my shine thinking 80% reading was the final proof

What's up with the fly on your hand?
Is the hydrometer good for isopropyl alcohol?
