Guns, Guns, Guns. Then even more guns.
That pretty well describes Mazar-i-Sharif Airport, in the North of Afghanistan. Many countries have military bases in this region, being that the North is one of the most important regions of control. I wanted to give you guys an inside glimpse to one of the most militarized airports I’ve ever been to. @NomadShubham and I have been to Sudan and some other crazy places, but nothing even comes close to this airport. Round after round of security checkpoints, and a fortified green zone all around the airport grounds.

I think what struck me was how friendly and welcoming most people are around the world and esp in the subcontinent / Asia. You most certainly do NOT experience that warmth in London. Coming from Yorkshire, when I visit the smoke it reminds me why I never moved south. Sure, there are exceptions but generally people are utterly self centred in the English capital.
